Better - this is a perfect PR opportunity for Tepper. Pay the fine, make the apology, vow to cooperate with Godell and accept his “punishment” in the form of a suspension from football operations during the preseason and for the first 8 weeks of the ‘24 season. It’s genius. It’ll take weeks or months to hash out the punishment giving him time to pick the GM, HC and staff before backing himself quietly out of the spotlight for a few months as the new guys steer the ship. A GM and Coach who want $ and control will see the opportunity here. Save the team, and be a hero. A rich one. There will also be more of a cushion to do this over time to “get it right”. And if you don’t? That’s easy - Tepper is the problem. Easy out. We now have a better chance of getting someone that sees this as an opportunity and wants to make a name for themself, and stuff their pockets.

I actually agree with this, but feel that BY could be deadly in a quick strike offense. Brady was masterful at hitting precise targets to WR running timing routes. He did not have the biggest arm, but he was incredibly accurate. BY has the skillset, precision and brain, to pull that off. A 6’7” HOF Tight End wouldn’t hurt either.

Brisbane - understood, but I feel like you’re comparing two very different scenarios. Ozzy, a Browns legend, turned out to be an amazing GM and built around a strong core by adding future HOF talent in the draft. He made a historically strong franchise even better. Albeit in a new city. We have NONE of that. However, my honest fear is that we’ve got another George Schinn in CLT now. When the city doesn’t want to cough up a BILLION dollars for what we’re seeing on the field, he’ll uproot the team for a football desperate city (or country) that will. Will they win in a new town? Who knows, but Tepper won’t care because he cares about $, not football.

The Browns were leading the AFC and on their way to the SB that year. Art Modell raped Cleveland. The team and franchise were in great standing before a greedy owner screwed them. The Panthers aren’t the pre-move Browns. We’re much much worse.

Connor Stalions, an “analyst” out of Michigan, just hit the open market. He’s a real up and comer. He’s got that “do whatever it takes” attitude.

I liked what I saw on the scoring drive in the 3rd qtr. I’m a critic too. He’s been frustrating to watch. However, as long as he can hold onto the ball, keep feeding him…for now. Let’s see if he can get us back in this.

Right there with you. Moved to NC in '94. Panthers got the team in '95. A few months later Modell blew up a SB caliber team in Cleveland (not often anyone can say THAT) and I became a Panthers fan.
