  1. That's entirely fair. Pass protection has been lacking, too. I'm just worried some of these might be hospital balls.
  2. Can't blame Bryce for the drops, but I'm not honestly impressed that much by the throws, either.
  3. Derrick Brown was a Hurney first round pick, nobody should be surprised he's the best player on defense by a mile.
  4. It was a Cam situation. He looked really solid the first half of the season, then the second half, starting in the Oakland game, just kind of started to fall apart. The run game and defense were strong enough to make up for it for a while but the playoff game was when everyone knew something was seriously wrong. It's really a shame because Delhomme looked amazing in the first few games of 2007. 8 TDs, 1 pick before he got injured. If he's healthy, that 2008 team could have made a legit Super Bowl run.
  5. I was pooed to hell and back when I said trading DJ Moore was a terrible idea we wouldn’t be able to compensate for in the draft/FA.
  6. Weekly meetings with the owner are not, in fact, a thing in the NFL.
  7. We made the playoffs in 4 of the last 5 seasons under Rivera before Tepper came in. In that span, we were also well above .500.
  8. Let's be real here. We've had exactly three somewhat-successful coaches in team history - Dom Capers, John Fox, and Ron Rivera. All of them were defensive coaches. Our three attempts at offensive coaches (George Seifert, Matt Rhule, and Frank Reich) didn't pan out. As-is, the strength of this team is definitely defense, and it has been for a while now. I think the right coach could make this unit something special. It's certainly easier to repair than the offense. In the short-term, this team could easily be reworked to have a top-tier defense - and at that point, your offensive needs become a lot more clear. Plus, giving Bryce - or whatever quarterback we have in 2025 - a top-tier defense takes a ton of weight off a young quarterback. It's no surprise Cam Newton's third year - the year with the best defense of the recent Panthers era - was a playoff year. Anyway, agree or disagree, I hope the coach is good, but I'd love to not see another desperate attempt to revolutionize the offense.
  9. If we fire Fitterer, clean house, and have a plan? Sure. i have no patience if we keep Fitterer though.
  10. Frankly I'm not sure this team can recover unless Tepper leaves or we get a sufficiently strong leader to push back against him. Clearly the team wasn't perfect under Richardson, but outside of his sleaziness it wasn't this organizationally inept and outright hostile to literally everyone
  11. Hope you enjoy when they start charging for it in a year or two, then. Because that's way easier to do at BoA than Wofford.
  12. We didn't just draft a long snapper - we drafted a long snapper when our current one (JJ Jansen) is the best in the game and has been for over a decade now, hasn't retired, is not showing any interest in retiring, and hasn't shown any decline in quality (he has like one botched snap, ever, and I'm pretty sure it was a decade ago). We drafted a long snapper as a luxury pick and he not only didn't make the roster, he's not actually played a single game of professional football since.
  13. She's listed as part of team leadership, took an active role in the coaching hire process (the team was fined for this), and was the reason we traded for DJ Johnson.
  14. Yeah, this is the problem right here. It's the peak of narcissism to try and give your wife - someone who, apparently, has no experience in any sort of executive environment, let alone a football one - a major role in the organization.
  15. Yeah I’ve got no intentions of suffering through 14 years of no playoffs.
  16. All day, the Panthers looked great in an under-center set, with a strong running game. This is also where Bryce Young looked the best - shockingly, when you set up the run, you can actually open up the downfield. This shouldn't be too surprising, given this sort of offensive setup worked well for Steve Wilkes last year. Instead, throughout the game, at pivotal moments, we went to the pistol. It didn't work, and in most cases it was actually disastrous. This is most obvious in the idiotic decision to convert a 3rd and 1 out of a run in the pistol. Stuff like this has characterized the entire season, and I don't think it helps anyone. If the staff, and/or David Tepper, can just get off their high horse and get back to the power run system, we might get a win or two the rest of the season. It might not be "sexy" to run Chubba Hubbard up the middle, and it might look too much like Jerry Richardson football (something Tepper clearly just does not like) but it was absolutely winning us the game for a bit. Maybe even build on this next year instead of trying to rework this scheme into something the players clearly aren't fit for and that frankly wasn't resulting in wins. There's no need to get fancy - just like up under center and run the ball.
  17. People are frustrated. It's been 6 years of losing with no end in sight.
  18. You never know how good you had it until it's gone. We went from only a handful of sub-7 win seasons in our history to wishing for even a few.
