The way out of this hole is not going to be fun, fast, or easy. This is a team that has been utterly stripmined of talent at every level due to inept management, coaching, and the worst GM in the history of the NFL. Here’s how to get out of it: 1) Scott Fitterer needs to be relieved of his duties, effective immediately. He must not be allowed to make a single personnel move for this team ever again. This dolt’s reign of terror removed essentially all talent from this team - it’s like every day was George Seifert cutting Steve Beuerlein or trading for Sean Gilbert. You can count the good decisions he’s made on one hand. 2) Frank Reich can coach out the season with the understanding he won’t be back for year 2. There’s not really a good interim option and frankly destabilizing the offense is going to hurt more than help. 3) Nicole and David Tepper need to remove themselves from all team-related decisions. I don’t even want them deciding who the cheerleaders are. They need to hire someone to handle all of this because clearly they can’t. This person must hire the GM and coach. 4) Whoever the next Panthers coach is needs to have the understanding that they have three years minimum. 2024 in particular is a free year because there’s essentially no way we don’t have a bottom five pick 5) Bryce Young needs to start every game for the rest of this season and all of next year. He’s looked awful, but we need to know for certain before moving. 6) The only focus in the offseason should be fixing the offensive line and securing weapons. This means in this particular we need a tight end and at least two wide receivers, maybe more. Thielen can stay, he’s great. 7) Tag Burns. You can’t let another big name guy leave. realistically this team is going to probably be in the gutter for at least 3-5 years. Be ready for the long haul.

We losses up Michael Jordan for Sam Bowie

No. Bryce has to play out this year and all of 2024. We have to know absolutely for sure that there's nothing salvageable before we draft #1 in 2025.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Bryce Young. The quarterback play is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Young's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these passes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Bryce Young truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Young's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Bryce Young tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

No clue how many would thrive, but I think most good quarterbacks would show some flashes at minimum and I've seen no actual plays from Young that make me go "wow". Just an occasional "that was a good pass" sandwiched between pick sixes and fumbles.
-
No see that's still not his fault, if we surrounded him with all-pro receivers and a line he'll look okay

Fitterer is an Absolute Idiot for Not Trading Brian Burns in 2022

The funny thing with Hubbard is that pick was essentially made by Matt Rhule's wife. -
Make the affirmative case for Bryce Young yourself. Don't rely on analysts. What has he actually shown that's even remotely promising? He can't throw deep. He has no zip on short/intermediate routes. His screen passes are so lazy defenders routinely take them back for touchdowns. He has zero chemistry with receivers not named Adam Thielen. What flashes has he shown?

I swear if this guy went to any college other than Alabama the knives would be out, this is a historically awful season for a number one pick.
-
I'd take occasionally making the playoffs over occasionally sniffing .500
-
His arm is never gonna be strong enough to throw 40 yard passes consistently, let alone 20-yard ones. He doesn't have the zip to hit short to target intermediate routes with the pinpoint precision you need. His processing has been actually abysmal this year, routinely making Clausen-esque blunders on screen passes. What has he shown that gives any indication he'll be great?

Still waiting for @AceBoogie to reappear and explain why Bryce is actually good and none of this is his fault.
-
He had a couple decent throws on the first drive. Nothing that anyone off the street couldn't make, though, and certainly nothing that warrants being the #1 pick.

It wasn't close to coming back, it straight up came back. Keep Pounding, smashmouth football. That team had an identity. Coached the whole season by Wilkes, that's a playoff team for sure. One that gets booted round one, but still a playoff team.

If there was a re draft when would Young be taken?
TN05 replied to Shotgun's topic in Carolina Panthers
He would likely be a day 3 pick. -
For the better part of 30 years, the Carolina Panthers offense has been fairly straightforward. It's Air Coryell, with a big emphasis on power running and deep passes, which combine to keep the defense honest. This is why quarterbacks as varied as Steve Beueurlein, Jake Delhomme, and Cam Newton have all seen success here. It's why this team looked half-decent down the stretch with Sam Darnold and Donta Foreman. Bryce Young literally cannot do this. He doesn't have the physical skillset to run Air Coryell. He is a West Coast passer that ideally will be targeting with surgical strikes (even if he lacks the arm strength to zip to a receiver quickly) in the 10-20 yard range. This is why he's so good with Thielen. Young would probably have chemistry with DJ Moore or CmC, too. We are trying to shove a square peg into a round hole. He doesn't have the arm strength to routinely throw the ball more than 20 yards down the field. In order for this team to succeed, we will either need to ditch Bryce Young, or rework the entire offense into a West Coast scheme. Up to you to decide which is easier but this offense as-is simply cannot work because Young doesn't fit scheme at all

You can’t cry sexism when she wants to have a leadership role in this org

Turnover machine

lmao what an awful throw
-
Good drive
-
This team is built for an Air Coryell, power run offense and Bryce Young can't throw downfield

Could Bryce Young make this throw? https://twitter.com/SartiranaLuca/status/1726322682894110786?s=20
