Diehardpanther02 replied to @bobbyagnese's topic in Carolina Panthers
Man i hope so. That would drastically improve the value of our first round choice. -
Will our cap wealth next season change Gettleman?
Diehardpanther02 replied to PanthersUnited's topic in Carolina Panthers
If your calculations are correct, then the money for players like kelvin, star, kawann should be set aside for them as they maintain their level of play then your looking at around 20 million spent (maybe more or less for those guys).Add in your "torrey smith" type signing and add another 7-9 mill depending on who it is. Your sitting at 10-15 left so, I don't think its out of the question for him to consider a player of that caliber. Although, I hope we can fill those positions through the draft because quality, youthful players are priceless in this league. And all of this is basically estimates of their yearly salaries combined, it could change based on the length of the contract. And the value of the player his self. -

Has any player talked up by Riverboat worked out well for us?

Nah he talks up all the players thats what a good coach does. -
Panthers get a 5th and 6th comp.

If we go thru all nine picks and at least one Wr and OT is not drafted i might freak. Its a possibility and ill get over it but during the moment i will go nuts. -

From Bridgewater to Newton...but...
Diehardpanther02 replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
If greg olsen and kelvin benjamin can both go for 1000 yds and at least 5 or more tds(dont know the exact number) then it would not be unlikely that he is productive in our system. The comparison to cotchery is not equivalent. Greg jennings is a two time pro bowler and unlike cotch has had more than one 1000 yd season. Cotch is a poor mans greg jennings. I know that jennings is getting old but hes saavy and knows how the game is played and has enough physical tools to come in a compete at a high level. -

Todd Gurley to visit with the Panthers
Diehardpanther02 replied to TylerVagyler's topic in Carolina Panthers
I dont think its a bad idea at all we need more depth and gurleys potential is through the roof if healthy. -
All these people talking about overated are prob the same ones postin about our approach to FAs being slow. Dude wasnt the best number one by no means but a number 2 in our system could do wonders all depends on price tho and out of that list and their qbs im almost positive he would rather be with cam

Im not so sure of this crap that u speak of. All the signings we have made so far are glue guys that every team needs to be successful. Oher may not be the answer but he will do for now, slightly better than bell. And ginn well we know he upgrades the position he fills in for. And this is Only day 2 of FA and the draft still ahead of us.

You guys are annoying, give the dude a chance man. 4.7 or not dude has great ball skills and is far more explosive than cotchery when catching and getting up field. Young spry legs, coming from a good system deep with WRs i wont mind getting new faces in. He can contribute and it may not be just at Wr. Patience is a virtue, you guys havent got a drop. But i agree i hope gettleman does shop a lil more and find us a legit #2 but i dont think this guys is as terrible as you all think he is. Regardless of last years production or his 40 times

Good teams usually keep enough cap space to sign that one player when the time comes to make their roster complete. Or to fill a whole that has been consistently holding them back. This may not be the year where we spend our money, but next years cap space will prob be close to double what we have now. Which is when i think gettleman and the FO will open up to more of those big name big game type players. Till then im fine with the organization being cap conscience cause their are guys on this team that deserve to be paid more so than any FA wanting top dollar. Cam, Luke, Star, Kk, and Norman all have to be paid with the same cap space so saving now keeps the roster intact for the future.

You can be active in agency and fill needs with quality guys without overspending on "elite" names. Those teams that overspend on names alone despite their level of play, usually are losing teams.

Ted Ginn Jr agrees to 2 year deal with Panthers
Diehardpanther02 replied to jamos14's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was a solid number three for us and has a good connection with cam hence the reason why his best receiving year was with carolina. I agree we dont need to rely heavy on him as a wr but he can pull his weight as a number 3. -
Hes now a panther and you gotta root for his success if you want the team to succeed. But i would like some more quality depth. We went bargain bin with OTs tho does that mean we spend more money elsewhere, WR, DB?

Cpat or Cobb we need one of them

I find it odd that its something necessary to point out, and obviously it would have been a good gesture to be present. But at the same time i have missed many funerals that i probably should have went to, but i Like to remember people for how they lived not how they looked in a coffin, around sorrow, IMO death should be praised especially in this case with fighting cancer. No more pain and suffering but that is just me people grieve differently, i just feel like if his mother was of importance then why would he be making the importance of an nfl franchise owner being present such a high priority. I mean obviously JR is all about the dollar and its not like he was literally family, what significance does jerry have to the life his mother lived. Jerry showed much respect in numerous games allowing his Mother to be an honored guest on Breast cancer awareness days, when during the games those with the illness were recognized and dwills mom was banging on the drum. I jus dont understand his point.

Throwback Thursday - Domenik Hixon TD catch to beat the Taints
Diehardpanther02 replied to SCP's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was at this game in the pouring rain and it was by far the greatest sporting i have ever been to. Been to many panthers games, nba, college basketball and many others and it doesnt even hold a candle. Great game, great atmosphere and anybody wishing we dont get ginn should rewatch that game if not for him hixon doesnt make that catch. Just greatness all around a slugfest and i couldnt talk for a week after it. Not to mention 8 rows from The sideline. I wish i could re live it. -
Off-season priorities - #3 Cornerback
Diehardpanther02 replied to London Loves Luke's topic in Carolina Panthers
Colin is an extreme liability in coverage, we need him on special teams more than we need him at nickle.
