Gross was a 1st team all pro in 2008 which equates to being the best LT in the entire NFL that year. Michael Oher on the other hand...
-
I’ll take a serviceable LT at a 3rd round salary every day of the week. Panthers paid Okung $13M last year for serviceable LT play.

It could be the reason Robby Anderson is one of the few players who hasn't shown up to OTAs.
-
I figured Robby would be a candidate for an extension but instead looks like Fitterer was looking to unload him.
-
Dude had no chance to contribute on defense so his chance to crack the roster would be special teams. Between Luvu (Free Agent), Johnston (Baylor), and Stanford (Special Team Leading Tackler last year), Orr was on the outside looking in. If you’re freaking out over what amounts to the 83rd best player on the team you must hate final cut day.

Who’s eligible for Hard Knocks in 2021?
AndrewLaskoski replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought teams with 1st year head coaches weren’t allowed to be chosen? That would exclude the Jags since Urban is taking over this year. Dallas has to be the choice for ratings. -
Sam Hartman seemed like a real solid guy if you go off of the Netflix show “QB1.” He was on season 2 of the show if anyone is interested. Lots of stuff on the internet about him.

5th round pick + a DB from UW is a risk I’ll accept every draft. Great fraternity of DBs with NFL success out of Washington.

Panthers fall in new ESPN Power Rankings
AndrewLaskoski replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tbh I would ignore all power rankings. It’s just one person posting content based on opinions. I prefer looking at NFL futures for win totals as an “offseason power rankings.” That is where people/books put their money where their mouth is. Btw most books have the around the 20-24 spot. -
Panthers Cap & Available Free Agents
AndrewLaskoski replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d assume there’s some house cleaning to do before approaching possible free agents. That includes extensions (Moton/Anderson) and draft pick signings (Horn, Marshall, etc) -
Panthers sign Delano Hill, Kendall Donnerson
AndrewLaskoski replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Looks like the two signed are plus athletes, in Donnerson’s case he seems to be a plus plus athlete. -
2021 Carolina Panthers Schedule and some thoughts on it
AndrewLaskoski replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you combine the 10 days break between games and it being only a 3 hour flight I’d be very surprised if they didn’t fly home immediately following the Texans game. -
I just appreciate the irony that either the Jets or the Panthers are probably gonna look like an idiot after week 1

Carolina Panthers wide receivers - Who sticks?
AndrewLaskoski replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Unsure if it’s been mentioned in here but I believe roster sizes increase to 55 this year. I assume the general breakout will be 26 offense, 26 defense and 3 specialists. Offense is probably 3 QBs, 3 RBs, 3 TEs, 6 WRs, and 9 Oline with 2 extra spots for depth / players front office don’t think will get through waivers. -
2021 Offensive Line: Finally Some Answers (or more questions)?
AndrewLaskoski replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
Interesting to not include Greg Little in the conversation. He certainly has the potential to make the roster and its to be seen how he responds to having his job threatened -
Panthers Remaining Needs After 3 Rounds
AndrewLaskoski replied to Seltzer's topic in Carolina Panthers
The blood clot concerns with Trey could have knocked him off the board. Would love to have him but wouldn’t be shocked if they skipped over him. -
What Are the Chances of Sewell Actually Dropping to us?
AndrewLaskoski replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Depends if the smoke screen the Panthers are deploying works. Sure seems like they’re publicly pumping their interest in QBs to make teams trade ahead of pick #8. -
Passing on a star for more draft capital
AndrewLaskoski replied to unicar15's topic in Carolina Panthers
The point of my tweet was there’s no definitive answer to whether trading back in the 1st round is worthwhile, not whatever your response is going in on. -
Passing on a star for more draft capital
AndrewLaskoski replied to unicar15's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just because the player doesn’t work out doesn’t mean they weren’t a blue chip talent at the time they were drafted. Life happens, injuries happens, coaching sucks, whatever it may be that makes prospects fail at the NFL does not take away the fact that they were blue chip prospects and they had less flaws than their peers while entering the NFL. -
Passing on a star for more draft capital
AndrewLaskoski replied to unicar15's topic in Carolina Panthers
It absolutely does go both ways. Trading down in the 1st has its merits if the team trading down knows how to draft well. Until Fitterer proves he can draft well I’d prefer to stick at 8 and pick a blue chip talent. On the other hand trading down in day 2 and day 3 always has made sense to me. More darts to throw at the more flawed prospects. -

This seems like a good thread to drop this tweet in. -
Report: CB AJ Bouye close to deal with Panthers
AndrewLaskoski replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’ve noticed more two year deals have been handed out when we’re used to seeing one year deals. -
I’d argue there’s more of a need to have a veteran QB to help with Sam’s development
