  1. No, but I would at least like to see some new young blood in the organization. Someone who will come in and pour his heart and soul into the position. There are tons of college coaches out there licking their chops at the chance of an NFL gig. It seems like the organization just held a meeting and said, "OK, raise your hand if you are willing to coordinate Special Teams."
  2. It looks like he will fit right in on Ron's staff. Jim Caldwell winning over Colts fans by canning Russ Purnell http://www.stampedeblue.com/2009/1/15/724739/jim-caldwell-winning-over "Caldwell has already won me over. I reserve judgment on how affective he is when it comes to winning, but as a person he has conveyed strength, intelligence, humor, and a willingness to be his own person. Caldwell is not Tony Dungy-lite. Caldwell is Caldwell, and nothing made that point stronger than his recent "firing" of long-time special teams coach Russ Purnell yesterday. Well, it wasn't really a firing, per say. Purnell's contract was up, and they just decided not to renew it. But, it certainly feels like a firing. Tip to jumunjis. Yes folks, Russ Purnell is now finally gone. Permit me to sing a tribute to Russ's departure from West 56th Street: I will give Purnell some credit for improving the Colts kick and punt coverage this season. DVOA ranked coverage near the top of the league, but I think that had more to do with Adam Vinatieri getting in great shape and booming his kickoffs. Also, adding Pierre Garcon, Buster Davis, and Marcus Howard to the mix helped. Throughout Purnell's tenure as special teams coach, the Colts always hovered between mediocre and awful despite the fact they drilled special teams play all the time. In training camp, there were entire practices in the afternoon dedicated to special teams. Yet, despite all the work, the unit marginally improved. Most of us have been begging the Colts to fire Purnell for years, but the rumor out of Indy was that Dungy couldn't do it because of loyalty. Dungy never liked to fire coaches, especially coaches he was close to. But in Purnell's case it was loyalty to a fault. Unlike Dungy, Caldwell seems to have no problem dumping bad or ineffective coaches. Thus, Purnell is gone." Petition to Fire Russ Purnell http://www.stampedeblue.com/2007/11/14/11448/727
  3. Sigh... Another old, stoic, conservative guy. He has Omaha Nighthawks experience! How could we pass that up?
  4. I'd be perfectly fine with trading these 2 picks to get as high as we possibly can. I've always thought that only 3 or 4 guys max from this year's draft would make the roster. So 6 total picks should be plenty.
  5. I know. I was watching with a couple of Jets fans last night and I was like wtf y'all just got the best player at #6. Now you can trade him for Mariota! LMAO
  6. That depends on how you like your crust to pie ratio. I prefer for the crust to be the dominant taste. But that's kind of like asking are you an ass or tits man, can't go wrong either way.
  7. GREAT NEWS!!! I hope they're still planning on addressing the WR2 though.
  8. Cecil Shorts, Denarius Moore, Kenny Britt, Michael Crabtree, Reggie Wayne, Harry Douglas I'd be happy with any of those guys.
  9. I guess he's content making money while not being a contributor on offense.
  10. This whole thing just seems so strange to me. Jerry Richardson, the same man who went with Greg Olsen to Boston and sat in waiting rooms for hours upon hours when his son had a procedure, didn't reach out to Deangelo at all when Sandra passed? http://www.nfl.com/videos/carolina-panthers/0ap2000000212277/Digital-Extra-Jerry-Richardson-s-selfless-gesture Olsen had only been here for one season and JR went so far out of his way to extend a helping hand to him and his family. There has to be more to this Deangelo Story. Has to be.
  11. Dang Igo, you're on a roll today. What thread is next? Shula reassigned?
  12. I'm sorry if this has already been answered. I skimmed the pages but didn't see it. When will the bus from Charlotte leave and return? And are the prices in that table per person? If I wanted to come and bring my girl for one night for the cabana package would it be 530 or 1060?
  13. I think he has a lot of potential with a better qb situation. I'd rather have Ginn back though tbh.
  14. It seems like unwarranted, idiotic, senseless bashing of Cam by the national media might be toning down a bit.
  15. Or maybe they realized she wasn't the least bit credible and the case should've never been there to begin with. If there was even a slight chance of a conviction here they would've continued without her.
  16. Wasn't the new DV policy put in place after Hardy's charges? At the end of the day we are talking about a first time offender and misdemeanor charge. And he was acquitted in the court of law. Does that even make him an actual first time offender? I would think not.
  17. I feel like letting him go outweighs the potential risk of keeping him if the reports are true and he's actually willing to put forth the effort and accepts whatever contract necessary to keep him. If we let Hardy walk despite our coach and locker room leading players lobbying for him, imagine the impact on our team mentally. If they feel that JR and Gman didn't do everything in their power to keep him then it could destroy our locker room. If we ever struggle to get pressure on opposing QBs how could it not be in the back of the player's minds? "fug this, we should've kept Hardy!"
  18. 9 guaranteed wins already? How nice. Oh, Andrew Luck too? Make that 10.
  19. I do follow him with mobile notifications, but I didn't see it quick enough. My brain tells me that we would never offer him that kind of money so this can't be legit. But it does seem like something strange is going on. If he's fed up and doesn't resign here then we are royally screwed.
  20. Why are people talking about it coming across their feed? Something strange is going on. My stomach just dropped to the floor.
  21. Thanks for posting my video man. This was one of the best nights of my life!!! The best part about this video is we were on the last row of the lower section and the suite right behind us was full of pats fans. I got in a few nice suck it looks during that drive! Say what you want about Ginn, but we might not have won the Pats or Saints game last year without him.
  22. The situation is literally so far in uncharted waters that it's hard to comprehend. Our highest paid player was taken away from us by the NFL before he had his day in the court of U.S. law. And we still made the playoffs! There is no precedent set for something like this, but surely something can be done.
