Official Panthers - Dolphins GameDay Thread
Nate Dogg replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tonight (EDIT: This whole week) has been one big disaster other than a couple of bright spots with Shaq, Oher, CAP, and Boykin. We really need an update on Frank. We already have question marks with Star. If our defense is mediocre then this team really is screwed. -
Carolina Panthers Roster Projection Update
Nate Dogg replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1972898-why-mike-mccarthy-is-so-high-on-packers-wr-jarrett-boykin I just can't believe Boykin doesn't make this team now. I would have to disagree that Boykin and Bersin are the same guy. Not even in the same league IMO. And if Boykin and Cotch are the same guy wouldn't you rather have the 25 year old version? Even though ARod can probably make a ton of guys look good, those catches were very difficult in traffic. He may be one of the slowest skill players on the field, but he knows how to make people miss and he knows how to use his size. That's something that's only coach-able to a certain extent. Some guys are just inherently physical.- 43 replies

We should have no problem featuring one of the best rushing attacks in the league. We were already 7th in rushing last season and rushed for 320 yards in the playoffs versus a stout Cardinals and dominant Seahawks defense. And that was with Stew missing time, no Tolbert, no CAP, no Tackles, and a hobbled Cam.

Rapsheet - Torn ACL for Kelvin Benjamin
Nate Dogg replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is just a huge catastrophe. I already know exactly how it'll play out. All we are going to hear is the answer is on the roster and the next man is going to have to step-up and capture the opportunity. We'll see absolutely no adjustments whatsoever while our offense fails to put up points time and time again. And then we'll hear the whole we're happy with what we did this season considering the circumstances. -

I would rather suck and blow up the coaching staff than have another mediocre season. How much of Cam's and this defense's prime are we going to waste with Shula calling the plays? It really sucks because I truly believe Rivera can get the job done he just hitched his wagon to a dead horse. GMan makes it seem like Rivera and Shula are a package deal. -

I don't know much about Irvin's career, but you're right it's safe to say Maclin and Boldin returned to form. -
Rapsheet - Torn ACL for Kelvin Benjamin
Nate Dogg replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
What does this mean for his career moving forward? Can anyone think of a WR that tore an ACL and came back to be as good as he was before the injury? -

If the worst is true then I hope we take a serious look at Reggie Wayne. Cotchery/Bersin/Byrd/Boykin are not the answer. -

Worse than a sprain doesn't make any sense. Grade 3 sprain normally comes with 8-12 month recovery and reconstructive surgery. What could be worse than that? -

A lot of MDs on twitter are saying an MRI isn't going to show anything the trainers don't already know. Apparently an experienced pair of hands can determine the severity and recovery time more accurately than an MRI reading. -

I'm wondering the same thing. I haven't seen enough of Funch yet. Maybe Funch and Olsen could combine for around 2,000 and Philly/Ginn combine for around 1,200? If we can combine that with averaging 100+ yds/game rushing that will probably be enough to at least win the South again with our Defense. -

Seems like they always keep our injuries much tighter knit than most teams. I swear Bene was day-to-day for about 5 weeks last year. -

Do y'all think Funch can be as effective out of the gate as Kelvin was last year? -

Idk why everyone thinks the video is so gruesome. It looked like his whole leg bent awkwardly . To me it looked like he had a lot more weight and pressure on his ankle than his knee. The video just doesn't scream complete destruction of the knee to me. But for Christ's sake Delmas tore an ACL? I pray we never have another one of these joint practices again. They need to go ahead and just practice separately tomorrow. -

Would you say Melvin has solidified himself as CB 4? Really anxious to see how this roster is going to pan out. I would like to see Todman, Ward, and Byrd all on the roster, but that's probably highly unlikely. -
The REAL story of the day... Touchdown Lee Ward!
Nate Dogg replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lee Ward needs to be on this team. IDC if he takes the place of Borckel or Swole Bones. -
Who in the world would even post this hot garbage? It really makes me wonder if the people that work in sales/marketing/IT/PR even watch football.

Defensive Backs Impress at Panthers Practice
Nate Dogg replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'll be going after him after round 10 in my keeper leagues for sure. -
I know a lot of people on here are pro Bersin, but how can we keep Bersin on the roster when you've got guys like Byrd and Boykin who have such potential? We already know what you're getting with Bersin. Kelvin Funchess Ginn Brown Cotchery Boykin / Byrd (I want to see if he can take a hit.)

How have the safeties been shaking out lately? Do you expect to see Coleman out there over Boston at FS? Have either of them been getting reps at SS? -
Stew is only 28 with low mileage. He will get an extension. His performance over our last 6 games speaks for itself.

Yes you're right he's a play maker with his legs. We've seen him turn what would've been a definite sack on most into a 15 yard first down. We've also seen him turn what would've been a 3-5 yard loss into a 2nd and 30. I'm as big of a Cam lover as there is, but I cannot accept being careless with the football. You would think after 4 seasons he would've learned if a guy comes free like that and has him dead to rights he needs to try to elude him or throw it away. Not just throw it up for grabs off balanced. We know that exact scenario will happen at some point during the season. We'll see what he does.
