Yeah that is the worst.. Or none of these QB beat out Darnold in TC so you don't get to see enough of the young QB to make a decision in next year class..
-
Low effort commitment based on the available options and the situation on the ground.. I'm looking at the better play based on professionals opinions .. You're looking at big swings based on desperation and gut feeling.. Which is better??
-
That's exactly what you want to do... You want to over draft a lower rated prospect based on desperation and positional value.. How is that not getting cute with the QB position?? Do you think the saying "take a big swing" means you're making the most sensible move??
-
Which is why .. I said low compensation is very important in this option.. A 4th or lower pick.. On a former 1st round talented player with 3 years left on a rookie deal is a low risk option... And the same Greenbay staff thought well of him enough to use a 1st round pick on him... So obviously they like the talent..
-
This is crazy ... You're still not out of QB purgatory even if you draft 1 of these QBS.. By most scouts and analysts opinion.. Same question what's the worst that can happen.. Love and Darnold suck!! But you have the foundation for a dominant Oline and a opportunity to add a higher rated QB in a (by most professional opinion) a better QB class.. Instead of looking for 2 high valued position next year you might be only looking for 1..
-
That's cool.. But my argument is ...I like this situation over that situation based on analysis and risk reward percentage... That's all I was saying.. The scouts could be wrong but I'm more willing to bet they did their work and their observations are better then some internet GM gut feeling..
-
How am I changing any subject?? Not 1 time in this thread did I say LT are just as valuable as QBS.. I said and showed that LT is 1 step down so positional value difference isn't that great.. Mlb, RB, Guard compare to QB ?? Okay then you take the QB.. BUt LT is considered by most to be a top 10 draftable position in the value chart.. I have not and will not say any QB in this draft is on the same level prospect wise as Trey Lance and most of the football world agrees.. So again what argument have I changed?? I still think a 4th or Lower round pick for Love and a 6th pick on Neal or Ikownun is a better option then "taking a big swing" at any QB in this draft.. Where did I change the argument??
-
I poo on Minshew because availability + price to get him + what your getting = doesn't add it to a low risk high reward move...
-
Cool.. They were rated higher and should have been successful.. Due to their on failing not their talent level they failed.. But if we're debating the percentage of the scouts and analysts being right in this situation to being wrong.. I go with the professionals every time over internet Scouts ... If you don't believe in general consensus by the professionals then who opinion do you post about??
-
Strawman argument.. You don't have to do it because these QBs are not nearly the same prospects.. You would have to do it if they were.. I still think Trey Lance is as sure fire as Lawrance and even more so then Wilson.. And I said that LT is a step down form QB and showed that financially teams feel the same way as LT are in the same price tier range as Pass Rushers and CBS... So you again trying to put words in ppl mouth to get internet points won't work...smh You have no idea either.. You don't get paid nor do you work in any scouting department.. So I guess we're in the same position... I'm the one here who is reading in between the lines and see what the ppl who actually do get paid to scout and rank players are saying... If you choose to ignore that.. Not my fault.. But don't act like you're some out of work football savant.. Who know more then anybody here or the actual analysis and scouts.. Just because you think you know better then the professionals and know these QBs in this class are worth a top 10 pick doesn't mean they are or thought of that way...
-
I don't have to move poo.. it's a fact.. Lance was rated higher a better prospect by every scouts opinion and teams were willing to give up 3 years worth of assets to get him... Nobody is talking about these QBS in the same arena... I hope somebody wants to trade up for any of them.. I don't see it happening but I hope..
-
Better prospect then any Qb in this draft.. Is anybody willing to trade 3 1st round picks to get Wills/Pickett or Corral?? That right there alone shows what ppl thought about Lance vs anybody in this draft.. We don't even know if anybody willing to trade anything to get them now (even thoe I hope so)..
-
I did 2 years ago before the pandemic season where he had 28 td and no TO . When I thought we were using Teddy as a bridge QB.. Look it up ..
-
And based off this debate nobody should question Horn over Slater anymore because positional value and prospect wise Horn was the right pick..
-
Trey Lance by far would be the number 1 no question 1st pick in this draft... Him being in this draft alone would raise the positional rating of the QBS in this draft.. His physical talent alone makes every QB in this draft look like Chris ponder or Joey Harrington.. You can act like any QB in this draft is even close to the prospect Lance is but it wouldn't be true..
-
Okay either way .. let's go by your position value now... Is it smart to take a lower prospect at a higher positional rate or a generational talent at a lower positional rate??
-
Yes they traded for a higher rated prospect more of a sure thing .. You want to take a swing a lower level prospect based on desperation and position value.. Okay But your taking a swing on prospect rated on the same level as the QB San Francisco is trying to get rid of... Think about that..
-
There is a story by Chris Trapaso under it as well did you read that..
-
We also watch that team barely beat a Titans and Raiders team with better Olines.. We also saw a San Francisco team with the worst QB in the Playoffs beat the best QB and best WR in the league at their house..
-
Funny part is ppl will give Tyler Henikie, Kyle Allen, Marcus Mariota and Winston 4 or 5 season worth of games to prove themselves.. This kid gets 2 games and he's a bust already..
-
If Neal or Ikownun drop to us.. Forget getting Love.. Just roll with Sam and let it play out.. Don't force a QB on a new staff or Have us in position to mistakenly stick with these lesser prospects and not take a better QB next year when we're in the same position no matter which QB we drafted..
-
You can scheme around a Game Manager QB with a good Oline as well right??
-
Its not a meaningful swing when everybody is saying the same things.. "Weak QB class" "No QB rated higher then the 16th prospect in the draft" "I wouldn't draft him that high (BuT desperation) will move him up"

https://overthecap.com/positional-value-in-the-nfl/amp/ You are wrong.. 2nd most valuable position in football is LT...
