This thread has told me some of you live in fantasy land.. You seriously convinced yourselves that a 3rd round rookie in a bad QB draft should be a starter. DAY 1!!! Were you not listening to the analysts?? Everybody after Pickett "while being more physically talented" were developmental projects.. Which is exactly why they Dropped... If you wanted a rookie QB who could possibly start day 1... You should have been on the Pickett train and cool with not getting Ikem... Corral needs to sit.. This is a low risk move to get a competent starter on the field.. You owe that to the other 52 men on the roster and coaching staff to give them a chance to win... Plain and simple..

Yes.. By all reports he almost killed that woman in front of his children.. Jail is the least he can get for being that type of monster.. 3 ppl in your own family got traumatized from your actions.. And so far he has shown little to no remorse from this.

I swear some ppl must think this team is better with injury prone Gordon, no defense Terry (who feels he is a starter) but better off as a high end backup and no Miles your 2nd best scorer.. Instead of getting off 1 of those contracts and getting a elite shooter and a guy who has made more allstar games then anybody on the roster combined..

Again this is just a fantasy option to get out of the mess we're in.. If anybody has other options I'm all ears..

Some ppl aren't looking at the Golden State model.. Draymond =Simmons defensive minded Distributor Steph = Melo - elite scorer shooter Clay = Herro- elite shooter wing..

Are you even looking at the numbers?? Cody avg more steals, Less fouls, same blocks, less To , more assist and way better 3 point shooter.. And as a Hornets fan we all know Cody's is asked on a nightly basis to cover the best perimeter player on opposing teams 1 thru 3.. Is Diallo asked to do that really??

You keep trying to show your knowledge of basketball but then bring "Diallo" as your example?? You might as well said the 2020 version of Harlod Minor.. Diallo more athletic but he doesn't play defense as good as Cody nor is he near the shooter or play maker Cody is.. What are you talking about??

Also younger and a better player then Hayward.. We could handle his contract with only 1 truly max player on the roster.. Showing his highlight completely shows his skillset sorry it doesn't fit your criteria of good.. But Reality they are.. Getting Simmons here somewhat replaces Miles and Hayward and unlocks another level of Lamelo.. Sorry you don't see that..

Ppl don't see how good a fit Lamelo and Simmons would be together with 2 shooters like Herro and PJ on the floor together... The Defense day 1 is elite Especially with Clifford coaching.. Other then Miles being a way better outside shooter.. Simmons does everything else better then Miles and would be a incredible running partner and lob threat for Melo..

Agree to disagree.. Take a swing at talent when you get a opportunity.. If he doesn't work out he still has value..

I don't consider it overpaying.. He's is your best wing defender who has improved every year since drafted and now is developing a 3 point shot.. 8mil a year for a 26 year old 2 way wing is cheap.. Hell we're paying Kelly 12mil and he doesn't play defense..

Do you truly expect the offense to be "Please Melo do everything " ?? That no different then the Kemba Years.. Having 2 guys who can run the offense and create their own offense on the court together is the new NBA. That was the whole reason in getting Gordon.. Ben can do similar things (without the jumpshot ofcourse).. In being another ball mover and offense setter..

No a better younger version of Hayward mix with Miles.. Without the jump shot ofcourse.. Having 2 guys who can move the ball and run the offense helps the scorer side of Lamelo also.. Again not to mention the excellent defender rebounder and finisher were losing with Miles stupidity... Again it's a swing for the fence move and only part of the deal.. You still get off of 2 Badly aging contracts and get A pure shooter in Herro..

If you know basketball.. Having a 3/4 excellent wing and inside defender who is a ball mover and superior driver and cutter to the basket is perfect for Lamelo...

The biggest benefit is getting off of Gordon and Terry's contracts.. Simmons is a swing for the fence move.. He still young and when playing is 1 of the best perimeter defenders in the league... If he doesn't work you still get off those horrible contracts and Herro..

Mj isn't going into luxury tax for Cody or PJ.. So let that dream of keeping them with what was a 120+ million Miles contract go..
