  1. all the RBs are having a great night. im loving this. this is Panther football as it should be!
  2. i hope he makes the team just for the jokes... y'all make me laugh. lolz
  3. i read that literally right after Todman scored haha this^ at this point, i would almost rather use our WRs in the slot and try to get something going on the sidelines with screens and dump offs haha /thread
  4. yeah the day Belichek and Brady leave that team will be a day to rejoice. That team's window will finally slap shut and all will be right with the world. Hell, I just wish one or two of the teams in that division would put up a fight for once. Miami might this year. No joke
  5. dont bet on that. we will still be starting 3 backups on the DL. i dont see us getting much pressure. that said, i heard somewhere that the Patriots are having WR issues right now too so maybe our CBs will be able to contain their scrubs. still... dont get your hopes up for a dominant defensive performance. im more concerned about seeing the offense score earlier and more often.
  6. cc: michael Shula strangely, his play calling style is perfect for a ground and pound offense. It's his stupid mistakes that are so infuriating and damning to our offense
  7. what the hell was that Thomas Davis guy doing... cut him. i kid i kid... lol. PFF is great and all, but its still just preseason...;
  8. we dont know anyone that used to do that... do we Jeremy?! is it wrong that this part of your post sounded like Mordin Solus from Mass Effect?! i can totally envision him saying these lines exactly the way you have them written... it seemed to be a theme of the night, Darby getting abused by our receivers.... haha if i were a bills fan, i would be concerned.
  9. if he can do as you say, then he deserves to be here. and im not afraid to admit that.
  10. lol i love your work lilsmitty but Wut? did you mean Green Bay?
  11. fair enough. i still think we can agree that Shula has no excuse this year. we have the talent now. if the OL is really that much of a problem, scheme around it. if he cant, his head needs to roll.
  12. fair point. but to counter, how many teams that we play this year have a DT combo like Star and KK? thats not a challenge, i truly dont know the answer.
  13. i saw this in another thread and thought you might want to take it into consideration. Jeremy is talking about the Saints, but the same application can be made for Mike Shula. you see, the Panthers do have physical talent on offense. a hell of alot of it. yes, the OL is not perfect. and yes, execution can be a problem. but that doesnt mean that Shula isnt still a problem. it doesnt even mean that Shula isnt the main problem. you see, if the man was worth his salt as a coach, he would be able to coach the execution issues out of his players and scheme around poor offensive line play. we have yet to see him do that after a few seasons on the job. unless we are all proven wrong and our offense is no-where near as talented as we all think it is, Shula is the sole target for blame this season if our offense sputters. His head needs to be the one to roll if we fail to move the ball this year. blame execution all you want, but "superior coaching can make up for so many flaws"
  14. no pissing match. this is just discussion. and im not necessarily seeing things with electric-blue colored glasses. i will admit that the offense has been struggling, and that there is a great chance its because of rusty-ness, poor playcalling/scheming, poor line play, or poor execution. or any of the above. i recognize that Buffalo has a great starting d-line and an overall stellar defense. but i also think that, to this point, the struggles of the offense have been overblown. i purposely have waited until this game to start making judgments about the offense. and even then, with vanilla playcalling likely to happen, idk how much we will really be able to draw. i will be paying attention to how the OL as a whole performs, and who gives up the pressures and sacks. i will be paying attention to what kind of separation the receivers are getting, what kind of chemistry they have with Cam while he is playing, and how sharp Cam looks. I will be paying attention to how well the OL opens up running lanes for ball carriers, because i believe in our stable of backs. im not blindly assuming that our offense is going to rock buffalo's world in the first quarter tonight. they may well struggle. but i also have faith that this is a better roster than we had last year going into the first preseason game. and i think we will, at very least, see flashes of exciting, efficient play from our offensive skill players. i also think we might be pleasantly surprised at the play of our OL. im not ignoring what the media has been reporting. i see it too. but ive also seen improvement (ive been to all but two of the practices in Spartanburg, and i went to Fan Fest) in our offensive play. i dont think the media has done justice to what ive seen. granted, im not as experienced. but ive seen a strong running game, and a passing game that is fully capable of making plays when need be. plus, Cam still makes plays with his legs, and that is the very lifeblood of our offense. long story short, i think we will see some struggles tonight, but i also think there wont be any great cause for concern by the end of the evening.
  15. going to repost this in the other thread where they are arguing about whether to blame Shula or execution for our offensive struggles.... Zod be like... with the irrational, reactionary posters...
  16. im not sold on that. yes, it might be rough. but our offense has been practicing against a top-3 defense for 10+ days now. i think there will be alot of positive stuff to go on tonight. im excited. i do agree with you that no injuries will be considered the greatest success tonight.
  17. yeah everyone is expecting him to be Benjamin 2.0 and thats just unreasonable. Physically, yes, they are similar. but everyone progresses at different rates, and Benjamin surprised everyone in his rookie camp. just give Funchess some time. He is playing like the second round pick that he was at the moment. my gut was like "YEAH!!!!"... but in all seriousness, how do we know that Proehl would make a good OC. seems to me that OC doesnt naturally flow from WR coach. though... i guess OC doesnt flow from QB coach either..........
  18. Ted Ginn is one of the main reasons i am excited for this offense. Surely even shula cant fug up with all these weapons, right? RIGHT?! no but seriously if he does, he gone. and that, my friends, will be a great thing for this franchise. so if our offense balls out, great. if they dont, there's no one to blame but shula. and his head will be the first to roll.
  19. i just watched them today. i couldnt tell if those videos showed how bad CAP is or how good Mayo is. though, Gman did say he could tag some fanny haha. hopefully he can ball out in the preseason and come on as a special teams ace. we need another Jordan Senn hahaha
  20. first time all camp long that ive heard anything out of the guy. i was beginning to think he had been cut or something.
