  1. please let us know who everyone chooses. im at school and cant watch
  2. you arent alone. there's an outside chance i will be going with one too.
  3. I remember the play you're referring to but I don't remember what we did on the plays before it in the series. I can concede that a speedy WR would have helped on that play, but my point is that we shouldn't have been calling a long bomb if Brenton Bersin is considered our #2. Shula doesn't seem to understand that he has to call short, nickel and dime passes when all he has talent-wise is possession receivers. A great offensive coordinator can move the chains even with sub-par talent.
  4. That's not a lack of talent, overall. Better protection would help, but at the skill positions, the Panthers had the adequate talent to move the chains and score. We just didn't have an offensive coordinator that knows how to use the talent we had
  5. Both Agholor and Perriman seem like upper 2nd round picks to me, but so does Phillip Dorsett. My guy is Dorsett but I would be okay with it if Gettleman traded up to get them.
  6. Sounds reasonable Maine. I want Dorsett on this team so bad it hurts. Okay not really. I just see something special in his play compared to other receivers we have a chance at selecting. I would almost be comfortable with him as our first rounder
  7. Interesting. I didn't know this. I understand the sentiment but it seems a little unreasonable. Though... I'm not a raider fan and don't have their "tradition"
  8. Everyone in this thread.is going to one extreme or the other. Why can't we seek a dependable receiver who has a high football IQ and above average speed? Not a barn burner, but a quick kid that can accelerate out of a break and get separation? He doesn't have to be the perfect catcher or the speediest guy in the draft. He just needs good hands, smarts, and acceleration. I guess I value catching ability, smarts, acceleration, height, and speed in that general order. Speed ought to be icing on the cake...
  9. ive always been of the mindset that you fix the trenches first, and when you do, even mediocre backs and QBs can look above average. i would be perfectly happy if Gman spend 4 of our 9 picks just on the offensive line.
  10. My question is whether there will be any of the top OT or WR left at 25. Remember that Gman doesn't think all the tackles deserve 1st round grades, and there is a significant drop in WR talent after Strong.
  11. good point. thats what i thought you meant, but i wanted clarification.
  12. you made me lol in the library. now everyone is looking at me funny. thnx bruh
  13. if the draft is super deep again, wouldnt that mean that you wouldnt have to expend a first or second round pick on a WR, because you could still find a solid contributor in a later round?
  14. what do you think about Shaq Thompson? that kid has really caught my attention lately. im beginning to root for him to be our pick at 25.
  15. yeah thats something that impressed me too. his YAC ability is insane. i would absolutely love it if we picked him up
  16. unlike most people, i am actually fine with keeping harper around as depth. im even fine with Boston starting. Coleman is an enigma to me. i havent watched game tape on him so idk whether he is starting material or depth. regardless, i keep hoping Landon Collins falls to #25.... or at least that Gettleman drafts a safety worth his salt....
  17. aaaaand this is why im not a talent evaluator. all i could see from his tape was him taking the top off of talented defenses and scoring touchdowns.
  18. I would rather wait and take Phillip Dorsett in the 2nd round. I guess I wouldn't complain about doubling up but Dorsett seems to have it all, especially speed. And we could use our pick in the first to take bpa
  19. i agree with you. but im not necessarily saying that we should spend a first round pick on a safety. if Collins is there, scoop that man up. i'd rather have him than any of the OT talent in the first. cant speak for Gman's big board though. but if Collins is gone, obviously we shouldnt reach more than 5 spots just to fill a need, and there are easily 5 players better than the next safety in line after Collins.
  20. While it's true that individual visits might not mean we like the prospect, the positions we entertain show us a lot about what our front office views as weaknesses on the team. Its very encouraging that CB, OT, and WR are at the top of that list. I trust the front office to make the right decision about a running back. I wouldn't take one, but if they do, I won't flame them for it either. One.position I do wish we were paying more attention to is the safety position. Coleman, Boston, and Harper? I think it's obvious we still need an upgrade there...
  21. I think I still fit the bill as a newbie. I've been here a year and a half under different aliases. I believe my talents are supporting The Huddle tailgates that I can make it to, and writing witty essays on draft subjects, preseason, and gameday analysis. I don't post often due to school, but I try my best to be thought out and level-headed when I do post. You're all awesome by the way.
  22. I hope he goes to the Cowboys. 3rd round comp pick and we only have to face him once this year...
  23. i like this for depth. still need to draft a few OT and maybe sign another from Target, just for competition, rotation, and depth.
