  1. It was sarcasm. Even when they've needed serious WR help, they haven't done it. Don't be so serious.
  2. I knew this mock was flawed the minute the Packers took a 1st rd WR.
  3. We don't know if they closed the gap or not. It's all speculation at this point. The Panthers brass has been very tight lipped. The hits that concerned me most with Cam were the ones that were allowed by the NFL. Carolina is a small market team and our QBs won't be protected the same way.
  4. Honestly, because the NFL years ago decided this would be an offense driven league. Tesms are required to go find a QB if they want a chance to compete. The days of elite defenses being able to carry a mediocre QB are over. The rules have changed. That's why these guys with issues are being drafted so early when they really should be going later. Teams can't afford to rely on a T2G or Flacco to lead a mediocre offense and still hope for success. It's the modern NFL and offense is exciting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting down BY, CJ or any of these guys. I'm just saying if offense and defense were equally valued by the NFL, then Will Anderson would be the pick. But they're not, so we play by the new NFL rules.
  5. They won't be. Any injuries or head hunting hits he receives will be chalked up to his size. Can never forget how concerned the NFL was about head shots for QBs while Cam was being targeted non stop.
  6. Whoever goes to the Texans is likely having the worse year. That place is a mess.
  7. I want Richardson because I think this staff could develop him into something special. I think if you trade up you take the QB with the highest potential ceiling. I think the pick will be Young because he's the most pro ready now, but I have concerns for how long he will be able to hold up in the NFL. I have heard the arguments that the NFL is letting QBs take less and less contact, but we watched what happened to Cam and Tua while the NFL was preaching safety and they didn't do poo. I want a QB for the next 10-15 years. I'm not sure if Young's frame can do that.
  8. The SEC is the best conference in college football. The best of the SEC are now the normal of the NFL with a few elite talents every year from various conferences. I was listening to a podcast today and one of the guys on it was a Saints cover guy and he was hoping we take Young because NFL teams are going to be trying to drill him into the ground every game. They don't care about a 15 yard roughing the passer penalty if he's out of the game. Being concerned about his frame is a legitimate concern. Doesn't mean he will or won't be a successful QB.
  9. This has the same feeling of releasing the picture of Tunsil in the mask full of smoke. Just something to get him to drop.
  10. I do commercial lawns on large scale. The issue isn't so much the transplanting, it's the time that it takes for it to sufficiently root well. Depending on grass type there is a 4-6 week time period for it to root and then there is a period when the grass has to be trained to be mowed to a certain height. Different varieties take different lengths of time. I know that there are concerns from a financial standpoint of being able to do concerts and tearing up the field, but it is doable. The key to all of it is making sure the base has adequate drainage and I would install some type of heating underneath to be able to assist in keeping it relatively dry/thawed to prevent turf damage. Turf management is a science, especially on heavily used areas. Lots of variables and a constantly changing environment.
  11. A big part of Newton getting destroyed came from the NFL treating him differently than every other QB. Since the rule changes to protect QBs, no other QB has been allowed to be pummeled like that and then told you're not old enough to get the call. That, more than anything, is what worries me about Young’s size. Not that he can't take a hit or avoid one, just that when he does take one he won't be protected to the same standards.
  12. If they do trade out, that's when it would happen. I don't see them giving up 2 and 12. They had reportedly offered next year's 1st to Chicago to go up to 1, and if that's the offer, we should consider it if we have minimal preference between Stroud, Young and AR. I don't think Young gets them out of a top 10 range pick, and depending on where it fell, that could open up some options for us. Of course, they could also take Anderson and then see if AR or Levis falls to 12 and take one of them there. They have some pretty interesting options. The front office has been really good at hiding their hand, but damn it's frustrating as a fan trying to figure out what they're going to do.
  13. I think it all depends on whether or not Young is the pick at 1. Now he likely is, but on the off chance he isn't, then I think he goes to the Texans at 2.
  14. My dream draft. Trade back from 1 to 2, aquire 24 1st and 65. Trade back from 2 to 4, get future 1st and 35. Draft AR at 4, Hyatt at 35, Campbell or Ojulari at 39. Next year target Harrison Jr, Williams or Maye, or trade away for a buttload of future 1sts. I want AR over Young though. My expected draft, Young at 1.
  15. It all depends on the offer. If we really don't have a preference and could end up getting their 24 1st, we would have moved from 9 to 2 for Moore and 2 2nds. They would have to add a 3rd and a 5th to that, but I'd still be ok with it. If Young is the pick and does end up getting hurt, that future 1st is going to be really high and we could end up with the option of a better QB prospect or trade out for a boatload of picks. Having multiple options isn't a bad thing.
  16. One thing to consider in what's the difference is the pipeline of buyers an agent selling for 700k vs 350k has and who they are in negotiations with. There's also their experience in contracts. My wife is an agent and there are plenty of sneaky things that agents will add into the paperwork that unless you know they're there can end up costing you 10s of 1000's of dollars. A good listing agent won't even list your house until it's ready to maximize every penny for you and that involves time if done right. I don't look at it as what's the difference in the commission, I ask what's the agent bringing to the table to maximize my profit. You should know that before you ever sign an agency agreement.
  17. This was off ESPN's draft sim. Did a couple of trades to start off. I prefer AR over Young so that's why I traded out. Sent 1 and 39 to Texans for 2, 33, and 65 and 73. Then sent 2 to Indy for 4, 35 and a future 24' 1st. Don't think the board would fall like this at all but I'd be happy as hell with it. 4 Anthony Richardson QB 33 Will McDonald IV DE 35 Julius Brents CB 65 Jack Campbell ILB 73 BJ Ojulari OLB 93 Siaki Ika DT 114 JiAyir Brown S 132 Ricky Stromberg C/G 145 Zack Kuntz TE
  18. I don't know that he needs game experience as much as he needs time to adjust to the complexities of an NFL offense and the speed of the players. He's never played with this level of talent. Depending on how fast he picks it up, maybe insert him by game 8 to 10. If he ends up having a successful 12-15 year career, will anyone care he sat out most of his rookie year?
  19. So you're saying we move from 1 to 2 to 4? What would the trade compensation be?
  20. Accepted it, yes. Excited, meh. I think we have the coaching staff with the right experience to actually develop a QB. While he might not be ready right away, I think with a staff like this, you have to take a shot on AR. He could be something special. That's not saying Young won't be good, I just think his ceiling is lower.
  21. That's what made JaMarcus Russell one of the biggest busts in NFL history. It wasn't just the pick. That was the equivalent to signing Jimmy Pickles to a 70m contract.
