I think most of us aren't really Bryce haters as called but more so really confused and ticked off at this FO and it's behavior surrounding the QB room. The things they've done look like Bryce is being protected, shielded, whatever you want to call it, and that's coming from only one person, Tepper. He made the pick and he recognizes far too late when he's made a colossal mistake. Rhule, Hurney 2.0, Frank, Fitts. It just feel like just another log on the bonfire Dave started when he bought this team.

The question wasn't about knowing the future. It was to ascertain if you could see the logic behind the question. Short term pain of missing the playoffs for a season for the long term gain of perpetual contender. As to whether or not the FO has made their determination, I don't know. What i have seen is a QB that has been given more opportunity than deserved based on the results. If not for draft position, Bryce would have been cut a long time ago. If Bryce has an Atlanta type game in the first round of the playoffs, I could 100% see Tepper stepping in and offering him a huge extension to prove he knew it all along. I see both sides of the argument. Enjoy the playoffs while you can. Who knows when you'll be back. Or, feel the pain of missing the playoffs, but force the FO and most importantly the meddling owner to get real honest about our QB room. I haven't seen anything out of Morgan that gives me any reason to believe he doesn't think Bryce is the answer. Signing an ancient Dalton when clearly better options were available. Bringing back Plummer, who was camp bait the year before. We've purposefully ignored improvement in our QB room. My personal opinion, we shielded Bryce from feeling any pressure behind him. A humiliating defeat Saturday with Bryce putting up the biggest stinkerof his career may be what's necessary to wake this FO up. And who knows, we could lose Saturday, Falcons win, we still back into the playoffs with a losing record and the FO finally clues in the QB room has to be addressed at the 1,2 and 3 spots.

Because he likely has the same fear a few of us do which is a win and playoff appearance means the FO will subject us to years more of Bryce and the QB play that comes with him. Bryce as our franchise QB for the next 5 years is like signing up to be punched in the dick a dozen Sundays a season for half a decade. Our FO has not made one right decision with our QB room in the 8 years Tepper has been owner. Do you trust them to make the right one if we make the playoffs with a one and done? If you knew missing the playoffs this year meant we would be a perennial contender in 3 years, would you cheer for missing the playoffs this year? I want them to win. I also want no 4th year, 5th year option or extension. I've seen more than enough. Sadly, I don't think we can have both options.

I dont see how there can be 5 deep passes from goal line to goal line. 2 at most. A true deep ball is 40 plus in the air to me.

1st team in modern NFL history going to the playoffs twice with a losing record if that happens.

That's what I think of when I think of a deep throw. 20 yards ain't a deep throw no matter what they say now.

I would have traded him to the Rams, used those picks and our 9 to trade for the 1 and kept Moore, then take a real QB instead of Young or trade that 1 overall the Clausen Jr got us for a boatload of picks.

At that point, throw some poo out there you've been wanting to do but never would in a real game scenario. What have you got to lose? If there were 1 or 2 seconds left and we kneeled down, fine. Not happy about, but get out of there with no injuries on a meaningless play. With just under 2 minutes left though, don't just lay down.

Even the Cardinals moved on from Rosen immediately. You aren't going to get top quality candidates if you force them to use a player just so you can try to salvage the debacle of trading away the #1 overall in the upcoming draft.

Does it though? Money wasn't enough to pull the 3 I mentioned. Dave is a problem. He's said he makes his opinion known in the FO and I'm not sure how many coaching candidates are going to want to have Monday morning QB meetings with the owner. I'll be honest too, I don't trust Dan that much either right now. He had a good draft class this year it appears, but he also whiffed just as badly in the other direction last year. Letting him pick another HC if we have to go that direction doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies. We know that. I'm not sure those in charge do. We've seen some pretty stupid things regarding our QB room, especially not even pursuing a capable backup QB. I think they see that Atlanta game and the passes he's dropped for TDs as signs he's capable he just needs more help, time, etc and do something very stupid.

Right now there's no guarantee they still won't be. I still think that's what happened with Frank. He was told he'd get to choose his QB only to get stuck with Bryce. I wouldn't put it past Tepper to exaggerate the truth if it came down to it.

Only problem is hot HC candidates don't want to come here. Remember Steichen, Johnson and Ryans all turned down Tepper for interviews. We got DC because we were his only interview.

The 1st facemask that wasn't called that JJ Watt was raving over I wasn't sure was completely his fault. Receiver got his hand up in Horn's mask first while he was reaching out trying to get a hold of him. He should have been called for the horse collar though. The second one, yeah, that was bad. And the DPI in the end zone could have been called all day long. I think Bryce exacerbates Icky's issues. Having a QB that is reluctant to step up into the pocket is a problem. There's only so many places to push a guy. A pash rusher from that side doesn't have to really worry about Bryce stepping up into the pocket to throw too often or keeping containment because his eyes can stay on Bryce the whole time.
