  1. So here's my thing. Either the QB room was his call in which case, I don't trust him to pick toilet paper for a campground bathroom, or Tepper didn't step back and is indeed dictating the moves of this organization like many of us have been saying all along. I don't think he's stepped back at all and has doubled and even tripled down on proving his decision to draft Bryce was the correct one. My suspicion is even if Bryce is not extended or his 5th year signed, Tepper will once again mortgage the farm to trade up and prove his superiority again and draft his guy. And if what I suspect is correct, and a lowly fan like myself sees it, anyone with any actual football experience is going to see it too and stay the hell away from this franchise. I don't know why Roger Goodell and the rest of the owners punished the fans by selling the franchise to Tepper. Wasn't Super Bowl 50 and watching Cam get speared over and over to the head a big enough fug you?
  2. I know people are out on Bryce and questioning Canales, but where is the angst towards Morgan? This is his fault. Improving the QB room is his job and the best we could do was Bryce Young and a 2 year deal for the ghost of Andy Dalton's arm. Everyone is praising his draft and FA but it's another year wasted full of disappointment by what a few of us predicted. I don't care how good the rest of his drafting skills are, if this is what he considers to be an NFL starting caliber QB and a backup caliber QB with no need to even try for improvement, we need another GM immediately.
  3. This is David Tepper. And if Dan Morgan ever wants to have another job after he's fired in Carolina he's going to have to say it, NDA or not.
  4. He'd have to be on the team first.
  5. People like me are upset because at the time, it was an offer for a caliber of player that he wasn't, the FO was still refusing to admit we needed to rebuild, which we did, and we gave up all leverage in negotiating by refusing said offer of that caliber. And that doesnt even bring into play how much better of a position we could have been in using those Rams 1sts instead of our future 1st overall and DJ Moore. It was classic Fittershits.
  6. I remember when I drank a lot. Sort of. Last Sunday. And probably tomorrow And next Sunday.
  7. 1996-97. Green Bay and Carolina in Lambeau for the NFC championship. Young franchise just whooped the snot out of an arrogant Neon Deion and even though we lost, that was a magical finish.
  8. Someone must have spike Penix's pregame meal with that stuff you get before a colonoscopy. Only way he could poo the game that bad.
  9. You do, but chemistry only takes you so far. Jake led his team on the biggest stage and was one bad kickoff and some taped practices away from a Lombardi. Leadership is great, but there has to be a measure of success too.
  10. Jake wasn't even the "hold my beer I got this" guy. He always struck me as the guy that drained his whiskey glass and said "Hey yall, watch this."
  11. Aren't you optimistic with only a 5th year option move. My prediction a month ago was 5 year, 220m with 160m guaranteed after a nice dinner with the Teppers. I'd expect 125 of that to be signing bonus locking him in for sure for the next 3 years.
  12. 2 opportunities. 2 GWD. Clutch.
  13. He's played 3 games in his career. It's a little early to crown him a bust quite yet.
  14. I remember when this board was making fun of Dan Campbell because of how he acted during his introductory press conference, similar to this.
  15. Even with a multi game performance you still have to do it. Losing your QB for a 4 game injury could be the end of your playoff aspirations without at least some semblance of a decent backup. If you're trying to compete for any kind of title, you have to bring in someone.
  16. That's where I see it too unless the last 8 games are miraculous and he leads a deep playoff run on his shoulders. And I still want a serious backup regardless.
  17. Gotta sign Icky too. Top LT salaries in the NFL right now at about 28m AAV so you figure he's going to want to be somewhere in that range, plus we just put a 2 year on Moton at 22AAV, Hunt's cap hit of 24M (dead cap of 26m if we cut him), and Lewis at 16.75m (7.5m dead cap if we cut him). That's a lot of beef in front of Bryce or whoever is at QB. I don't see how we do a big extension and keep Icky. I don't see Bryce's agent letting him play the last year of his rookie contract with no extension or 5th year guarantee.
  18. Heisman trophy winner Chris Weinke ranked lower than Jimmy Pickles. I'd be making a phone call or two if I was on the committee that issued that trophy.
  19. Shock factor. My 15 minutes is better than yours
  20. To get the production we've gotten from Young has cost us 4 1st round draft picks 2 2nd round draft picks 2 4th round draft picks 2 huge guard contracts 1 Taylor Moton extension A top 10 at the time RB contract And DJ Moore I realize draft picks don't pan out and he isn't responsible for the picks that were made except possibly XL bevause of his dad, injuries happen, and nothing is guaranteed but that is a poo ton of capital to surround a QB with to have 1400 yard, 11 touchdowns, 6 ints and 5 fumbles and a 45.1 QBR after 8 games AND this is a contract year because we have to decide his 5th year option. And as mentioned earlier, we have a running back blowing the doors off in 3 of those wins with over 500 yards of offense in 2 of them. It's not a matter of not liking Bryce. He seems to be a good dude. His pre draft potential was always listed highest floor, lowest ceiling. So far it's been basement apartment in Venice, and treading water in the staircase. For what's been spent to give him every opportunity, this has been bottom tier performance by virtually every NFL statistical ranking. My issue now is the same as it's been. You can't extend him or give the 5th year based on what he's done and that's just a huge fugging disappointment.
