It ain't worth the price of parking.

Diamond Dave would give up 3 1sts to move up to 1 to draft a RB. We're going 0-17 with DC, Evero and BY. This the worst Panthers team I've ever seen, including the one run by the corpse of George Seifert.

2 1sts and a 2nd for an edge rusher that is barely pro bowl material much less all pro. The offer we got from the Rams was more than the offer for Parsons. You take that offer and run every day. And yes, those picks would have made a difference to a GM with half a brain. The trade package could have changed and kept Moore. The offer could have been 9, and the Rams 2 1sts for 1. Then the following year we still have our one, which we can either use to draft Daniels after the colossal turd of a rookie year Bryce had (Rosen with Az), or trade it for a collection of picks ourselves. Trading Burns gave us options, because without a QB, building around a pass rusher thats piss poor against the run for all pro money just doesn't make much sense. Burns was Hassan Reddick with the Spiderman gimmick. He was never JJ, TJ, Reggie, Peppers, Miller, Garrett. Those are guys you build.a defense around.

Especially on the oline. You have to invest consistently. Teams almost need a couple extra spots to roster just because of the frequency of injuries now.

I've been saying it for years. The line starts in the middle. Kalil showed us that. Draft our center. Solidify the position for a decade. Move on.

So, just what is it that makes a QB "elite"?
SmokinwithWilly replied to Brooklyn 3.0's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think one of the contributing factors was he was not playing against NFL caliber level players every position, every down, every week. Alabama had an advantage most weeks on the field. In the NFL that gap in talent is much smaller, and that makes judging the ability for college players to transition to the NFL so much harder. -
Ill be dead before the Panthers reach 183 wins under Tepper.

You're not getting anything. Bench him and be done.

Ejiro evero likely to be fired Monday
SmokinwithWilly replied to Gipetto's topic in Carolina Panthers
Like I said I'm no fan of Evero or his defense, but even if he ran the best defense in the NFL, 3 points is more than our offense can overcome outside of garbage time. He should have been fired last year. No matter who you have as DC is going to have the same problem. Giving up a single touchdown is more than your offense can overcome, and its hard to motivate yourself or your players when you're constantly put in that position. -

I'm no Evero fan, but if your defense cant give up more than 3 points without seriously being at risk of losing the game, wtf are you supposed to do? Damn near every resource has been spent on offense and we cant put more than 6 points on the board when it isn't garbage time? If we had the 85 Bears defense we would still be losing because our offense is fuging pathetic. -

SWW for next GM. 3 days with Willie and Snoop Dogg and I could still build a better roster than this. -

Maybe theres a 5'6" qb coming out next year that can break all the molds... -

Our defense hasn't played well at all, over the past year, but how do you even give a fug when this is your fugging offense. -
Could probably get Jameis for pennies

Jameis Winston is like a trash can punch party. Its either gonna be one hell of a night, or a hangover that makes you want to swear off drinking forever. There is no middle ground. -

Howell would be interesting. Still young enough if he managed to turn it around, we would have some options instead of hoping Bryce can turn it around in year 4 or trading up again to draft another QB when we're not sure who to target with the number 1. -

You have to do something if Bryce continues down this path. You can’t delay development and waste careers because you’re hoping for a better draft pick. Always try to get better. If it was a game or 2 left, fine. But assuming 75% of the season remains when the call that it’s done for BY, you do something to improve the situation. -
So good enough for the Saints.

The way they draft has played out makes me think Tepper, or at least his system, is still involved. Our drafting looks based more of an algorithm and some analytic model than watching actual football or even common sense. Now we've brought PFF into the building. More analytics. Where are the guys that just watch football. This guy can separate. This guy rises under pressure. This guy has a feel for the flow of the game. Bend. Hands. Footwork. Just fuging football. Its like we're watching fantasy football based drafting and team building except there isn't a waiver wire to pick up the hot replacement for one of your bust picks.

I had emergency gallbladder removal and was back at work on limited movement, hard physical job but it was 4 weeks before I felt comfortable really stressing the surgical area. No way I'd have thought of getting hit, punched, kneed, or torqued on a semi-fresh incision in 2 weeks. These guys are also carrying extra weight so its also what they had to cut through as well.

Emergency surgery to the gut reasulting in not being NFL impact ready in 2 weeks isn't something I'd really consider being pussy behavior.
