  1. Where a player lands contributes so much to his success or failure. David Carr is a perfect example. He got sacked so many times he saw ghosts everywhere because he landed behind such a horrible offensive line. I'm optimistic about Darnold because I don't think he's had a real chance to develop bad habits. He's spent the majority of his time trying to fit into Gase's system which was throw it at the wall and see what sticks.
  2. I bet Ron chews the same piece of gum all the days of the draft, without it ever losing flavor.
  3. I guess maybe there is some psychological stuff to a simple game like that. Me, I'm only playing after a dozen shots of Jaeger and it's rock/paper/scissors/shot.
  4. If he is there in the 3rd I would be happy to watch them call his name as our pick. I don't think he makes it to the 4th. He needs to be developed and 2 years behind Darnold would give time for that to happen. A promising young QB in the stables would be nice to have.
  5. And for Snyder forcing the Haskins pick. They took Sweat a few picks later.
  6. If we go Sewell/Slater in the first, I would like to see Humphrey or Meinerz in the second. I do expect the pick to be Grjant though. I would be content with Jamin Davis too.
  7. A single pick comparison doesn't really establish much as far as drafting talent. Hurney whiffed far more in the 2nd and 3rd where it really matters than Gettleman. It will be interesting now to see how not having JR influence will affect our new GM.
  8. Grief affects people in a lot of different ways. He was never the same after that loss.
  9. Time will tell if Butler was a bad pick or Rivera wasn’t able to use him right. He played well in Buffalo this year, which makes me wonder if it was Ron trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole. Rivera was anything but adaptable and constantly forced players into his system instead of adapting his system to the players. Gaulden was a failure from the start and Little, that was just Hurney being a dumb ass trusting his gut over what anyone with a set of eyes clearly saw.
  10. I don't want a LB at 8 because the positional value is not there. Parsons may be legit, but we could probably move back to 15 and still possibly get him. There's far more chance of him being available than Sewell, Slater, Chase, Waddle, or Pitts
  11. 1. TL 2. Sewell 3. Slater 4. Wilson 5. Chase 6. Pitts 7. Fields 8. Trade back - since we're talking big board, I'm adding trade back as my option at 8 if these players are gone. Wouldn't want to move further back than 15 at most. 9. Waddle 10. Lance - merely based on positional value 11. Surtain/Horn - these 2 are neck and neck IMO 12 Parsons - based on talent alone. I dont see LB holding the value in this years draft
  12. Also the sound of his gut feeling kicking in
  13. You can't mold around a QB that won't/can't take the necessary risks. 4th and 8 passing for 2 yards isn't going to cut it. Saying that he wanted to check out of a play where he missed a wide open receiver for a touchdown because he didn't like it is a problem. Teddy likes to play it safe and in this game you have to be willing to take risks to win. Teddy has shown he isn't that guy.

  15. It brings up a more important question though, rather than just does Teddy suck. Should we cosider keeping T2G for a backup. The hope with any backup is that they have the ability to win a game if your starter gets hurt. These stats show that he likely isnt going to be able to come in in the 2nd half and lead the team to a win. Granted most everyone already knows this, but when considering the backup role, how much value does he even have there?
  16. We've had Hurney twice. Isn't that enough sorrow for any NFL fan?
  17. Can we put our Little back in the draft and have this one instead. Leave the number the same, no one will notice.
  18. No, but that was one of the funniest non SCP posts I have ever read.
  19. He protected a lot of young QBs. But that goes to show you that coaching makes one hell of a difference to and I wouldn't trust Gase to be head coach of a turtle racing league. Darnold wasn't a fit in Gase's offense, just like Cam wouldn't fit into a traditional passing offense. You have to build around these guys' strengths and Gase tried to hammer a square peg into a round hole. For fugs sake he had one of the best receiving backs in the league and tried to use him as a power back between the tackles. The dude had no idea what he was doing. I'm not saying Darnold is going to be a prime time NFL QB. He may, he may not. But I don't think it's fair to look at what happened on the Jets and determine his ceiling. You can only climb so high when you have an anchor dragging you down. Fields might be there at 8 and if he is, I totally understand if they picked him. Drop TB, Grier, Walker, dump all of them. Fields can back up Darnold and if he gets hurt or plays like poo, away we go.
  20. It's a deep class, but if you have Sewell or Slater there and they are your highest rated players, you make that move. I think Fitts and Co genuinely believe that they got a talent equal to any of the QBs after the top 2. Taking emotion out of it, getting that kind of value for a 2nd round pick is insane. Now build a wall in front of him and let Brady scheme his ass off. Personally I want to see 2 of our first 3 picks on the oline. Tackle in the 1st, DB in 2nd and a G/C in 3.
  21. I've already registered on the liver transplant waiting list
  22. It's almost like Alice's temper tantrums and PanthersUnited quality posting joined into one.
