Every lightswitch in the house must be in the down position when the lights are turned off. This is usually only a problem with lights with multiple switches. I have reinstalled lightswitches in the proper way to make sure this happens. I will pay 6 bucks for a really good beer at a restaurant without thinking about it, but won't buy a mixed drink because the markup is so damn high.

I'm headed to Charlotte in a few weeks and I'm looking for some really good places for some grub. I'm hoping to find some really good down home southern cooking that you just can't get on the west coast, but Im not restricting myself to just that.The food is something I really miss and I'd like to get my grub on while I'm back, especially with some awesome bbq.

It really depends on what you are doing. IR cooks a lot faster than a traditional grill. If I'm putting grill marks on something or doing a Pittsburg steak, it gets the job done. Don't cook anything on it with sugar in the marinade or you will be cleaning forever. It has to be seasoned constantly. Personally, when I do steak I use a kosher salt and cracked pepper crust with a pat of bacon fat because it crusts really well in a pan. Medium rare beef tenderloin. That's a little piece of heaven right there.

Depends on what I'm cooking. Mostly I prefer charcoal, but if I need to get a real good caramelization or a quick hot seer on a piece of nice rare steak, I switch to my gas infrared grill. It gets way hotter faster and since I'm usually only using it for 3 or 4 minutes, it's more convenient than charcoal for the same purpose.
