  1. One of the reasons I have been an organ donor since I was 18 and have encouraged everyone in my family to be one as well, even with their kids should something happen. The body is just a shell and I can't think of anything better than giving another person a chance at life.
  2. At first I thought he kind of looks like Nick Jonas but he looks a lot more like his brother Joe.
  3. What happened to Philly wouldn't have happened to Smitty. Taliban would still be looking for his arms after Smitty ripped them off and beat him with them.
  4. And that would be concerning to me given their track record. Part of growth is challenging yourself and Marty and Ron never seemed to do that for each other.
  5. He was in the playoff hunt in one of the worst divisions football has seen. I dont think he wanted to win the division, he just needed it to look like he was trying. They needed a QB and weren't going to get it going 1 and done in the playoffs. Too bad Pederson out tanked him or they could very likely have gotten Fields. Theres really no other explanation for why you would start Haskins, bench him when the game is out of reach, then cut him if you were actually trying to make the playoffs. Even the most ignorant football fan knew Haskins had no business starting that game.
  6. That's about 2.2 mil now right.
  7. I never thought either were great, but they both had their strengths. Hurney could hit in the first. Its damn near all he could do. His biggest flaw was his lack of vision for the franchise. Nippleshorts could rock a budget and find those FA bargains to fill the team. His ego left a lot of damage in its wake. I dont know where Fitts will land but I can at least see some of the team building.
  8. Depends on the asking price, but generally I'd say no. Aside from his legal issues, the cost for such a move would likely be ridiculous, especially not knowing when and if he can play any time soon. Plus I dont think the Texans would be willing to trade him to anyone right now because the offers would probably be similar to what we gave the jets.
  9. What were they gonna say? Hey Marty, you're a fugging idiot. These guys have to athletic ability of Michael J. Fox doing gymnastics. They were probably saying what they had to to keep their jobs.
  10. Here's the difference as I see it. Hurney couldn't evaluate talent or fit. Sure he hit in the first but LBs and RBs have a higher success rating than DT or CB. Gross was the Sewell of his draft and Cam was the highest ceiling QB of his. Those were the safer picks. Move past the 1st into the 2nd-4th and dear God it got bad. And of the guys he drafted that did make it, they seemed to have to have a wide variety of personality and athletic ability. It just didnt feel like team building was done with vision. Enter the great Nippleshorts and his ego ran the show. He could manage the books and find some bargain basement deals on the free agent wire but his love of hog mollies was his ultimate downfall. Every position can't be a hog Mollie. He also lacked the personal interaction skills that make the franchise a desirable place for free agents. He was better than Hurney but so is dropping a rancid air biscuit in a plane when no one can figure out it was you. Now we have Fitts and he seems to be building a team identity and recognizes needs. This wasnt going to be a one year rebuild after the team was gutted and I think his approach was to try and fill as many gaps as possible and make the sum of the parts of the team more than just a single position, even at the QB spot. Time will tell whether or not drafting Fields was the right move for the franchise or not. Maybe Darnold ends up being good maybe not. Either way, being able to look at this draft and offseason (though I'm not a fan of the price of the Irving and Elfein signings), at least some sort of plan is recognizable rather than the previous regimes' plans of Hog Mollie U and Lawn Dart Roulette.
  11. It's less scary than being led into the future by Hurney or Nipplrshorts.
  12. Imagine being behind them in the buffet line
  13. I'm trying to figure out how anyone ever considered Hurney "a GM."
  14. After one of the shittiest days I've had in a long fuging time this is what I wanted to open up and see on the huddle. Bravo sir. Brav-fuging-o.
  15. The fact he can even still speak or hasnt burned a hole through the ozone layer after huffing all that hairspray should be the 8th wonder of the world.
  16. It worries me that Grier couldn’t get past TB on the depth chart and we traded him away. That doesn’t make me feel all warm and fuzzy about our back ups.
  17. Pretty sure Deonte Brown pancaked those numbers too
  18. Enjoyed seeing some vision for the team’s future. Hurney always bet on winning right now with very little building for long term success. Gettleman believed hog mollies were the answer to everything and even drafted one at WR. Fitts showed the ability to adapt to things as they happened and that was very refreshing.
  19. I was 325 would be a good weight. That's still a lot of beef to sling around but it's an extra 200 lbs of pressure off the knees. I was 375 lbs and I can't even tell you how much easier life was after losing that 50 lbs. Plus he is going to have better access to nutritional info if he chooses to use it.
  20. Well see how the picks work out but the strategy if nothing else appears sound. I'm ok with trying something new. Lord knows we failed plenty doing it the old way.
  21. I posted before the WFT pick. I figured he could have been had in the 7th since it's not such a high demand position. I dont have an issue with getting a LS if we are moving on from Jansen. A million a year for someone who has always been reliable at what I feel is an undervalued position is worth it in my opinion, but it is just that, my opinion. I just really liked the idea of Morrissey because of his versatility without the injury history.
