  1. There's a few things I would do. 1. If Fields is there, draft him to be the eventual replacement for Ryan. I know, I know, they still have Ryan, but if you have a chance to get your future QB, you take him. And sitting on the bench for a year would actually benefit him rather than being thrown into the fire to become franchise savior. Ryan gets hurt and Fields gets playing time. Also, franchise QB for 1 draft pick vs having to possibly spend 3 1st plus extras 2 years from now. 2. Draft Sewell if no drafted QB. It's not Pitts or a QB, but Sewell is a franchise LT and those are the 2nd hardest thing to come by. 3. Pitts - Great TE prospect and we all see how much of a mismatch an elite TE can be. Do I think it's a little early for Pitts? Yes, but with the right OC he could be a real weapon if he pans out 4. Trade down to a team not name Carolina in love with a QB. I particularly think Denver could be in play here. Slide down to 9, still grab a CB or Pitts if he's there, possibly even Chase or Smith for a wicked 3 headed monster at WR and still be in good position to move on from Julio and his contract.
  2. Minshew for a 5th and I'd be happy. Darnold has all the talent but did he get ruined by Gase. I'd go as high as a 3rd comp for Darnold. Jimmy G, no thanks. If we could get Minshew, that's the route I would go first. Better than Teddy, not afraid to sling it, and with some receivers he might be able to do something. Keep our 1st and 2nd, get Sewell/Slater at 8 and Humphrey at 39 if he's available to start at guard then slide to center next year. If he's not, go safety and grab an IOL in 3 or 4.
  3. Miami just went OT last year and they don’t want to have to pay out those contracts back to back. I think they grab Smith or Pitts. Detroit could take Smith if Miami goes Pitts and then we hit our franchise OT.
  4. What to do? Calm down. Stay at 8 and take Lance if he falls or trade back to NE, Denver or Chicago if a Mac is still there and we dont take him Use our picks wisely and build a rock solid defense with an oline and you dont have to have an elite QB to win it all. Denver and TB proved what a spectacular defensive performance can do to an MVP QB. Do I want T2G. No. Am I prepared to deal with it while we build a team that is ready to plug a QB into it. Yes.
  5. The Jets were probably the 2nd worst run organization after Houston. Gase was absolutely horrific as a HC. There was no running game. Watching the Jets on Sunday was like watching Alabama play a tune up game against Podunk U. High drafted QBs go to terrible teams more often than not. They dont all work out but I'm not willing to call him a bust yet with the situation he landed in.
  6. I'd trade a 3rd for him and not blink. He has experience on a very poorly coached team. There's only so much you can do when the system around you is hot garbage. The jets also had no running game to speak of. He's worth the risk and at the least is still better than Walker or Grier. My move would be to offer this years 3rd and maybe a 5th next. We can still get premium oline talent in 1, a safety in 2, iol in 4 and 5, WR, RB and a DT in 6.
  7. Cam is not a lock at HoF by any stretch. There's only so many that get in every year. Cam was good no doubt, but his inconsistency will really hurt his chances.
  8. I didnt like the price but I liked the confidence in making a move for Watson. It showed Tepper was damn serious about winning and that attitude is infectious. Its kind of the TB12 effect but from an owner. There's no way to predict those allegations, it's just unfortunate that now we're the ones caught with our pants down.
  9. That's been my thought all along. You dont know when you are going to get your next shot at a franchise QB. You can spend one pick on one this year, or try and trade up 2 years from now giving up multiple 1sts. In the end, it actually makes a lot of sense to take a QB now. A single 1st round miss on a QB is a lot less painful than giving up 3 1sts plus more and whiffing.
  10. I have said a long time 4 could be gone by 4. But I have also been told how that isnt possible because it's never happened before.
  11. I still say Ron was trying to tank for a QB. He knew they weren't going far in the playoffs except he did it better than Philly.
  12. No chance there could be 4 QBs gone by 8 is there
  13. Will Grier is the answer if the question is: "What's our best chance to land the number 1 pick next year?"
  14. I'd have given up Brown without hesitation and taken Bechton or Wirfs. Would have preferred a trade down between 10-15 and taken one there. LT is the 2nd hardest position to fill and anyone with a pair of eyes other than Hurney knew Little was never going to even get close to being starter material.
  15. If Obada's drive and determination could somehow have been put into KK...
  16. T2G. Depending on how the NFL does offseason and preseason, a rookie could have little to no time to prepare. I think were stuck with T2G at least for the first 4.
  17. I had it done years ago and it was simple. Only problem I had was I threw a huge clot, but it ended up being a lot of blood with no real damage. But when you wake up in a pool of blood it will freak you out a little. Being able to get freaky without having to worry about making babies is AWESOME.
  18. Where I live out in the Pacific Northwest, you better bring at least 50k over asking and you’re going to need 100k cash because the selling price is over appraised value. My wife just sold a house in under 12 hours for 120k over asking. Less than 30 days later it could be relisted and sell easily for 50k more than the accepted offer. Real estate here is jumping 25-30% a month.
  19. Rivera's greatest flaw was his unwillingness or inability to adapt to anything. Teams figured Cam out as a QB, leaving him to rely on his physical abilities to succeed. And Cam was able to do it, for a while. But if you ask yourself, why did we have KB and Funchess, it was to give Cam big talk receivers that could catch Cam's passes that he tended to throw high or wide. But if you look at his mechanics, they never really changed from being a rookie until he got hurt. That's poor development and that's on Ron and Co. for not correcting or even adjusting to anything. Hurney embraced the suck and Gettleman was neutered by JR with regards to keeping family guys or I think Rivera might have been canned earlier. Cam could have been so much more with the right coach. But the way Ron coached was as much of a memory as the 85 Bears.
  20. Why you gonna give them so much space??
  21. That really depends on who and why they’re following. These players are assets and paying someone to guard your assets isn’t necessarily a dumb move. Some players are make good financial targets and to think there aren’t people willing to take advantage of that would be naive. It’s often cheaper to settle a frivolous claim than to actually go to court. So hiring someone to watch these guys could make sense IF you went about it correctly. Nobody thinks this type of thing can happen to them until it does, and then it sucks because you’re defending yourself from a bunch of BS. 3 years of dealing with courts and attorneys is a pain in the ass.
  22. As tempting as he would be, we need to keep our 2nd. We are foomg to have to build through the draft if nothing else but to keep our salary cap manageable. There's always a few 1st round grade guys that slide. Can't really afford to pass that up for a one year rental during a rebuild. Top 2nd rounder or 3rd round comp pick.
  23. These would have to be off the board for me to take Pitts. 1. Lawrence 2. Wilson 3. Fields 4. Lance 5. Sewell 6. Slater 7. Chase/Darrisaw If Chase is available, I'm taking him over Pitts. DJ and Anderson will need to be resigned and having a WR of his caliber would give us more flexibility in the offseason. I really like the idea of Pitts and using him in a Gronk/Hernandez type situation like NE did when they were so successful. Ideally if the top 4 are gone, we get Sewell or Slater and I'm perfectly fine with that. Slater seems like a guy with a chip on his shoulder and his footwork is amazing. There's a lot to like there.
