  1. If it is the latter, I'll be glad we didn't pass on the opportunity
  2. Has a coach ever been fired during the draft?
  3. That wasn't as crazy a pick, and actually made some sense if you look at how much Dallas continually invests in their oline. I thought JJ could have easily been the pick to replace Gregory, but protecting Dak made sense
  4. I wouldn't either. He may start BC at LT and put IE inside at guard for a couple of games. Or we could end up trading him for a handful of magic beans.
  5. Well the Pats ruined the millions of dollars predict the 1st round contest. Cole Strange has to be the most head scratching pick from day 1.
  6. If Irving ends up starting at LT this season, I don't think Rhule makes it to the parking lot unscathed.
  7. I expect them to trade up to our pick in the 2nd to take a WR there.
  8. Please don't fug this up. Please don't fug this up...
  9. All I can think is please don't fug this up
  10. Kerry Collins. Yeah, yeah, I know. But it was our first draft and I'd been waiting for football in Carolina a long time.
  11. No. Rounds 1 and 2 are considered day 1 to mid season starters for LT. Interior linemen usually can be found up to rd 4 for rookie starters. There are exceptions of course. I think a reasonable expectation would be he should be seeing the field regularly this year, and he should have been last year.
  12. There is no such thing as a 5 year plan in the NFL. NFL stand for not for long. If you can make it on a 3 year plan with the way contracts and players move in this league, you've accomplished something.
  13. We don't know what he is thanks to Rhule. He should have been starting a couple weeks in. He looked better than Irving in preseason and he should have been given the reps. He wasn't. Then they tried to have him play 4 positions, not an easy task for anyone, let alone a rookie. His natural position is tackle. He may be able to learn to play guard or center but it's a different skill set as far as how to deal with rushers. We didn't really develop anyone last year. Campen is good. Give him a little time to work with the guy.
  14. Really depends on where we go at 6. If we go LT, I see BC moving inside and Irving being the swing for this year only. Next year, BC will be the swing and Irving will be gone. If we go another route, BC and Irving will battle it out for LT and the other one will be backup, and we draft a guard or let Brown start at RG and see how it shakes out.
  15. He's not a guard. He gets manhandled with power in the interior space. He's a tackle and should be kept as a swing tackle.
  16. It'll cut away just before our pick to a commercial about erectile disfunction.
  17. You forgot record and fast forward as an option.
  18. I want an OT because I think that the talent level is higher there than at QB and LT is one of our key positions of need. That's not to say that QB isn't or couldn't be the pick, I am just saying that for me, I haven't seen the QB tape that makes me look at one of them and say "that's our future." If we had the 2nd and 3rd round picks to pursue some of our other needs, I'd be more open to QB at 6, buy we don't have those picks. I will say it really bothers me that we brought in Campen to evaluate our line talent but Rhule has the ultimate say in who starts. Why hire these guys if you aren't going to listen to them.
  19. You insulted yourself. A QB is the engine, the oline is the oil. If you put garbage oil in a high end engine you have a blown engine. I get it, you want a QB this year. I don't see more than an average QB. I do see the opportunity to acquire elite protection for that engine that isn't always available.
  20. There is a such thing as a franchise LT. You just don't hear about them because they aren't throwing for 400 yards and 3 TDs a game. If they're doing their job, you rarely hear their name at all. You have to protect your QB, period. Good LTs rarely become available in their prime for a reason. This year is a bit challenging for this team in the draft. With no day 2 picks, there's no chance to get a QB that may slide into round 2. So we can either take a QB, and wait 3 years for him to develop unless he's just horrid like Rosen, or we get a LT that can keep our QB (whoever that may be) on his feet. We had a franchise QB, we didn't protect him and he was physically beaten and battered trying to carry the team because we couldn't block for him and now he's virtually out of the NFL. This year's QB crop has flaws, as does every class. Is there one of those QBs that you see as a franchise QB? Is there one of those guys you would be willing to put your job on the line for, because that's the reality for Fitts, Rhule and McAdoo. I don't the that guy this year. I see potential, but I don't see one that's head and shoulders above the rest. I do see some elite level talent at OT and that's where I would lean if I were picking.
  21. Having him as WR1 and DJ as WR1a would be filthy if we can find a QB. I'm over RA and don't know what to make of TMJ. Still want a LT, if the right one is available.
