Panthers PJ Waker Ranked 25 Among NFL Backup Quarterbacks
SmokinwithWilly replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Id be ok cutting Grier and looking for a QB with upside that could be a big project. 3rd string QB has some room to play and taking that risk is acceptable. Theres a lot of garbage but every once in a while you find a guy thats worthwhile. Grier isnt good enough and we can do better, or worse. If we are relying on our 3rd string we’re already in trouble anyway. -
Bradberry was easily worth more than Shaq. Good corners are hard to find and when you get one you damn sure don't let him walk to keep a LB unless that linebacker is HoF and that definitely isn't Shaq.

I'm more worried about his mental aspect than his athletic abilities. I know they play a part, but having that cerebral aspect under control is so important. Tb12 nor Manning in their physical prime were the athletic threats we consider so important today, but both played the game at an unbelievable level because they had the mental aspect under such control. I'm not comparing Darnold to either, nor do I think he will achieve that level of greatness, but I do hope he can grow that cerebral aspect of his game leaps and bounds and that can make up for his average RAS.

I'm OK with him not looking sharp right now. I'd rather him be getting confused now than during the season. Gase's offense was very scripted and didn't leave a lot of room to read or adjust. And if our defense is as good as we all feel it can be, getting reps against it can only help his development by helping show his gaps in skill and help fix them.

Soccer star heart gives out during Euro’s on front of all fans
SmokinwithWilly replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Huddle Lounge
Or maybe we’re seriously disturbed by a man lying on the field in obvious distress and no one reacts. So when you ask yourself why they didnt react, its pretty fugging obvious its because this sport allows it so often nobody pays attention when it happens. Im very happy they saved his life and his wife and kids didn’t lose him. Im also disturbed by the fact players falling over is seen as a joke and not potentially serious. -

Seconds matter in response time for life threatening incidents. He died on the field. If they hadnt been able to revive him, how much could those 15 seconds have mattered. Constant flopping prevents quick reaction by medical personnel to actual injuries because they think players are going to pop right back up just like they do 99.9% of the time. It’s the boy who cried wolf on the pitch. -
Denver fans are going to learn it, live it, love it. It's all they're gonna get.

The biggest question for the Panthers.

Teddy was making some throws in training camp for us too. Game day was a completely different story. That completion % doesnt mean anything when you cant move the chains.

Everyone should also take the next opportunity to make sure they're an organ donor as well.
-
One of the reasons I have been an organ donor since I was 18 and have encouraged everyone in my family to be one as well, even with their kids should something happen. The body is just a shell and I can't think of anything better than giving another person a chance at life.

At first I thought he kind of looks like Nick Jonas but he looks a lot more like his brother Joe.

What happened to Philly wouldn't have happened to Smitty. Taliban would still be looking for his arms after Smitty ripped them off and beat him with them.

Ron "learning from his mistakes" in Carolina

And that would be concerning to me given their track record. Part of growth is challenging yourself and Marty and Ron never seemed to do that for each other. -

He was in the playoff hunt in one of the worst divisions football has seen. I dont think he wanted to win the division, he just needed it to look like he was trying. They needed a QB and weren't going to get it going 1 and done in the playoffs. Too bad Pederson out tanked him or they could very likely have gotten Fields. Theres really no other explanation for why you would start Haskins, bench him when the game is out of reach, then cut him if you were actually trying to make the playoffs. Even the most ignorant football fan knew Haskins had no business starting that game. -
That's about 2.2 mil now right.

The evolution to being a perennial winner.

I never thought either were great, but they both had their strengths. Hurney could hit in the first. Its damn near all he could do. His biggest flaw was his lack of vision for the franchise. Nippleshorts could rock a budget and find those FA bargains to fill the team. His ego left a lot of damage in its wake. I dont know where Fitts will land but I can at least see some of the team building. -
Depends on the asking price, but generally I'd say no. Aside from his legal issues, the cost for such a move would likely be ridiculous, especially not knowing when and if he can play any time soon. Plus I dont think the Texans would be willing to trade him to anyone right now because the offers would probably be similar to what we gave the jets.
