  1. Agreed. My first thought was 3 years after Tepper sells the team.
  2. Typically I'd agree with that sentiment but since we've been the worst team in professional sports for 5 years, this team needs a win, even if it is technically meaningless. Being ok with losing is a mentality we need to get out of the building
  3. The games themselves are pretty meaningless, but for a franchise that has taken it in the shorts the way Carolina has the past 6 years, winning is a necessity, even if it is the preseason. We need to get the taste of losing out of our mouths.
  4. Of course I want to get out there and play. I'm a competitor. It's who I am. The coaches have their reasons for not putting me on the field right now, and I trust their judgment, but hell yes, I want to be out there. That's what I want to hear.
  5. Has a career in politics when this is over. Answers without answering.
  6. I just want to see how good the chemistry between him and Dionte is so I have a better idea of where to pull the trigger for my flex WR.
  7. If BY were to get hurt in preseason, say season ending, we would have to seriously consider another QB in the draft even if he were capable of returning. Year 3 would be an evaluation year again and year 4 we have to consider 5th year option. We're not going anywhere without a QB so if one comes along we like better than BY, it's just business. Let them compete. But dont hamstring the team because you're afraid of hurting his feelings. I'm actually a little more concerned about DC than BY. If DC doesn't work out and goes full Frank mode, BY will be on his 3rd head coach in 3 years and that HC will definitely have zero ties to him. This team needs some stability somewhere. I hope we find it.
  8. Likely the only interest in the Panthers I'll have during the regular season is to see who they're playing next so I can pick up the opposing defense in fantasy football.
  9. What I fear is the excuse that they didn't have enough time with the new system, coach, GM, players, etc. I fear trying to build a system around him that avoids the use of common sense. I fear we are trying to invest everything in a QB that didn't even rank in the top 32 last year. That is downright terrifying given our history under Tepper. If we end up with a top 3 pick, and I believe our chances are better than 90% we will, not taking every opportunity may very well lead us to passing on a QB should there be one worth taking, or taking a player to specifically help BY instead of taking the best player to help the team. But my greatest fear is that this owner and FO can't or won't admit that a mistake was made, if indeed it was, and it's time to move on. The more opportunities that are available to evaluate his performance, the better that evaluation has the potential to be.
  10. BY needs to be playing. Forget draft status. Based on his play alone from last year, he should be competing for a starting spot and nothing should be guaranteed just because he was the number 1 pick. Based strictly off performance, we've got a late rounder/udfa starter, a dinosaur qb2, and some practice squad rejects as our hopeful starting QB. No team should ever feel comfortable going into the season with that, but we're good.
  11. What it screams to me is they're ok with failure. How can anyone say they're trying to improve the team when the most important position on the field has zero competition. Or that could just be the plan. If BY gets hurt, put in Plummer and it's a straight shot to number 1.
  12. Can you give me the last 4 of your phone number to make sure I'm paying to the right place.
  13. He knows. He just does it to piss you off.
  14. Rodgers has a SB ring and 4 MVPs. BY has 2 wins. Not really the same comparison.
  15. I heard they're passing out braided belts at the home opener.
  16. I misunderstood what you were saying. However I will say that with the urgent need to evaluate BY in a competitive setting, putting him behind a weak center is doing us a disservice. So what if we waited until next year to draft a center if BY can't be evaluated well due to constant pressure up the middle. Determining if BY is a franchise QB is the only thing that matters right now. He looked like a late round or UDFA last year, not a number 1 pick. A lot of that can be attributed to horrendous oline play as well as his own mistakes. But we have to know. If we end up with a top 3 pick, we have to know whether or not to move on. A shiny new RB doesn't change that. We needed a C through FA or the draft, the draft being ideal because of the quality available at the same spot. Not knowing if BY is a franchise level QB is a far worse finish to the season than going 0-17.
  17. We've seen over and over again rookie centers having immediate impact and being good players while we keep trotting out broken down versions of a center and constantly talk about our poor oline play. RB was a luxury pick. Time after time, Dallas prior and Philly now, are perfect examples of plugging any RB behind a good oline and watch them have career years. We just spent a small fortune on a franchise QB, and when it comes time to actually get a real center to call the line and block, we did what we've watched fail over and over again. The Saints drafted McCoy. As far as putting too much on BY plate, Mr. Irrelevant is getting it done in SF, so the number 1 pick with the best processing brain since Peyton Manning should have no problem.
  18. And that's what's really sad. We spend a small fortune on our offensive line between Moton and G's, Ickey as a top 10 pick, and the guy to lead that unit is coming of 2 leg injuries and is being moved from guard. What good does it do to spend all those resources and leave a gaping hole right in the middle? Sure we can pick a cast off from another team if Corbett doesn't work out. But taking cast offs to anchor the middle of our expensive online doesn't make any sense.
