Ferguson is going to cause us some problems, especially if Lamb is back. Don't see how we can cover Lamb, Pickens and Ferguson, especially in the middle of the field. Our LB deficiencies will show up big time.

Did the Panthers get Mike McDaniel fired now?

Sounds eerily familiar. -
Because Darth Tepper is the root of all evil in Panther land and must be purged from the galaxy.

I would love to enjoy the win but I can't. The problem is we have the largest collection of incompetence in our front office and ownership in the NFL and wins like this will likely result in reassuring Big Daddy Dave that Bryce was the right choice and we need to lock him down with a 6 year 320m deal fully guaranteed. Bryce either needs to be superstar or half a star. This middle of the road crap being bailed out by others spectacular incompetence ie. Penix or a career day for Rico and the defense cant keep happening.

Material makes more of a difference. I work outside in dark colors and light when its 90 plus. That and you have to stay on top of your electrolytes. Dehydration will kick your butt fast. I use supplements in capsule form that work great. -

Bersin wasnt much in the receiving department but he could catch anything that hit his hands and could take a hit. Put his drive in XLs body and you'd have something -
Bryce Young Is a Symptom, Not the Disease
SmokinwithWilly replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im not a Morgan fan either, but Im still not 100% convinced that BY and the lack of competition isn't a Tepper thing vs a Dan thing which means it's still a Dan problem. We need to upgrade our backup. Dalton was re-signed to keep Bryce comfortable, not compete for a starting job. Bryce was Tepper's draft choice through yes man Fittershits, not Reich's. I could very well be wrong, but it would appear that there' pressure coming from above Dan to give as much leash to Bryce as possible and not challenge him at all. Either he rises or he falls. Good in theory, terrible for an NFL team on an 8 year poo the bed streak. -
Bryce Young Is a Symptom, Not the Disease

Regardless of the trade and where he was picked, Bryce actively created deception. He wore a hoodie to the combine and was 15 lbs heavier because he packed on water weight because he didnt weigh near 200 lbs. He didn't participate in drills in a wide open 4 way, really 3, QB bid. Then there was all this hype over the S2 test that he had been practicing that we've never heard about in the draft process since. Does anyone think it was an accident Stroud's score on the S2 was released? Stroud said forget the score, watch his tape. Wonder why. There was a whole bunch of shady poo going on surrounding Bryce pre draft, and I for one, find it all a little too convenient. Just my opinion, but he was a used car salesman that used some armor all and a wash n wax and maybe a set of white walls then schmoozed his way at dinner with Dave and Nicole and sold them that he was a super savant. There was a whole lot of BS swirling around the BY hype train and he was a full fledged participant. Frank didn't want Bryce, he wanted Stroud. A new head coach does not pick a QB he has to go design a brand new offense around unless that guy is a generationaltalent, which Bryce was most definitely not. He picks the guy that best fits what he does and that was Stroud. This was Dave and Nicole's pick and they fuged this team like they've done over and over again since they've been here. They fell for use car salesman Rhule, then used car salesman Bryce and company. And the fans got stuck with the 4 years of payments on a car less reliable than Al Bundy's Dodge. -
Pass catching TEs really seem to help these young QBs. Wonder why we never thought of that. Ian Thomas was always good at cashing that paycheck though.

You know what's worse about the QB situation?
SmokinwithWilly replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think we need to stop worrying so much about finding another immediate starter. Whoever we draft we need to do this the right way. 1st year, clipboard unless an injury dictates otherwise. We've seen time and time again how much better these guys do just having a year to get acclimated to the NFL game and climate. My thought for next year. Find a FA QB to run DC'S system because I think you have to give him year 3 for any possible future hires to even remotely consider Carolina. Then if DC shows serious improvement as a HC, let him draft a QB that meets his criteria, use the bridge while his carries the clipboard, and in the meantime, spend some capitol on defense, and get rolling. If DC doesnt work in year 3, show him and Morgan the door, clean the whole damn house out of rats, and build this place the right way from the top, starting by locking Dave and Nicole in a luxury resort in Luxembourg, the French Riviera, or in some Buddhist monastery. Just keep them away from daily operations and leave me the checkbook. -
(Potential) Top 2026 HC Candidates

I don't want him drafting a QB either. Id rather find a FA QB that sort of fits that mold to see if he can do anything with his system. Thats partially why I'd like to get a Howell or Winston type now so they'd have longer to get acclimated to the system for next year, even if we finish the year with Bryce. -

Hate to say it but we can't fire DC right now. He was basically forced to work with BY as part of his conditions for being hired and hasn't really had the opportunity to get a QB of his own. That's not a good look when you're interviewing new candidates. A coach has to be given the chance to do his job with players that fit what he does and DC hasn't been given that chance. Fire him and you're putting another box on the list to keep coaches from coming here. Plus, Morgan needs to be given another year as well so he can either show he's can have a successful draft or he's a bust as well so the whole damn show can be flipped and started over with a president of football operations and build from there. No more hold overs. Empty the damn building and start with a brand new staff. -

Yep. When he had the chance to run for a SB victory, he passed on the opportunity.

Canales in his press conferences
SmokinwithWilly replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
He might get another shot somewhere. All he has to do is put he worked for Dave Tepper on his resume and got 8 figures for a year and a half worth of "work". They'll probably consider him a genius. -

Probably someone made a bet that Dave and Nicole wouldnt be stupid enough to believe those results were real and lost.
-
Things like that are why I think Tepper is still heavily involved in the major decision making. It's not like this is somr clever 4d chess move. It's basic strategy. Now if Dave forced the issue, then it, and the moves of the past 3 off seasons make a lot more sense.
-
My thought is you have to have some vision. Dalton is ancient by NFL standards. His play last year was not good at all outside of 1 game. Bringing him back this year as a backup didnt make sense. He had no upside other than to make Bryce comfortable. Now if we had brought in a Howell, Winston, or another FA QB that fit Canales' style a little better we could have had 3 things. One, a real backup without the intent to just mail in the season if Bryce got hurt. Two, if Bryce reverted back to his season 1 and 2 opening form, we had another QB on the roster we could insert to potentially develop our offensive players as well as determine if our problem lies with our HC as well. And three, if Bryce didnt work out, we have a vet QB signed that is familiar with the system that can make the transition into next year without leaving us scrambling to draft a QB we may not want because we feel desperate to do so. Might not seem like much, but a little future planning with some built in contingencies makes sense, especially given where we are right now. But this is Carolina and we dont do poo like that.
