  1. Plus he's not really a part of the receiving game, though it has happened in spurts. With the multifaceted RBs coming out of college, being able to be part of the passing game is essential for these older backs. It's one reason I'm not a huge fan of Chuba. Dude has hands of stone.
  2. Not a position I would want to be in if I didn't have 100% confidence in Fields. If I didn't, I'd be looking to QB at 1, even though I'm trying to sell that position. Hell, another offer could come in for Fields and he could come out smelling like a rose getting picks AND a QB he wants. But you can't sell that 1 for as much if other teams know Fields may not be your guy.
  3. I don't hate Lamar. I think it's highly possible he's made some very questionable decisions. If you factor in his injury history, and I think you have to, would you be willing to pay him 50m or more per season, knowing you may very well need a Brissett type backup at another 10-15m just to finish out the year and possible playoff run? I don't give 2 shits if Tepper is licking his chops. If Tepper is picking our QB again (Watson), we might as well bring Matt fuging Rhule back.
  4. Oh I get it. It's also a bad look to the new drafted QB if they move on from Fields after 2 years considering what he's been given to work with. Stroud has already said he doesn't want to go to Chicago because of Fields. Poles is trying to maximize his take to see if Fields turns the corner this offseason. If he does, he's loaded with picks. If he doesn't, he's still loaded with picks and a very good chance to land a top QB in what many are saying is potentially a better class. Win-win IF Poles keeps his job.
  5. If it goes poorly for them again this year with Fields, they're likely sitting in one of the top 2 spots with a plethora of picks to surround their new QB with offensive line talent and a couple new receiving weapons to boot.
  6. I can't believe I'm saying it but looking at what it's going to cost to go to 1, I wish we had let Rhule finish the season. We may not have gotten 1, but very well could have ended up at 2 or 3.
  7. He's a good QB with ball security issues that has proven repeatedly he can take a team down the field in the 4th quarter and win it. His defense in Vegas blew almost his entire time there. He's not a Mahomes, Hurts, or Burrow, but put enough offensive weapons around him and I think he can get it done. Hell, T2G had 4k yards passing because his WRs went off after the catch.
  8. Henry is also 29. That's RB 30 wall is right around the corner. No need to pay big money for that.
  9. Mahomes earned about 20m in endorsement deals in 2022. That number is going to go up. Winning gets you paid off the field too, making it easier to take a lower salary because you still end up in the same spot.
  10. Yeah. Henry is the RB version of a rental car thrown into reverse at 50mph just to see what happens.
  11. The only thing about blowing it up is the entire NFCS is blown up right now. They could blow it all to hell and still win the division and still fug themselves. This is much more entertaining.
  12. If we can't get one of the QBs because the price is just too damn high, I wouldn't mind trading down into the teens if possible, securing Mayer, and grabbing an extra 2nd(s). I'd be happy to come out of the draft with 2 of the top 3 TE. DJ, TMJ, 2 TE and a pass catching back could cause a lot of issues, even if we only have a Brissett like QB.
  13. Not really. You always go into negotiations knowing where your limits are to start with. If you go past that, you fug yourself. You have to be willing to walk away. If you aren't, it's not negotiation, it's desperation. We've already seen what happens with that. Being the only suitor for Darnold with our starter being PJ Walker.
  14. Scot and I think along the same lines quite often. I'm pretty sure I'm spot on and that would have been his response.
  15. This will finally blow up when Loomis retires. Dude is a cap manipulation god. Until then, it just is what it is.
  16. Because it's not about the player, it's about the coach. Carr under Andy Reid is much more troublesome than a Dennis Allen.
  17. This feels like a kick in the groin. Whether or not I agreed with him, at least he provided some challenging thought, a rarity in "journalism" these days.
  18. If we're worried about Derek Carr keeping us out of serious playoff contention then we're not in contention anyway.
  19. I know. Just pointing out that future 1sts are still 1sts, not 2nds, not 3rds.
  20. According to all the Huddle experts during the Burns to Rams discussions, our next year 1st is really worth a 2nd this year, and our 25 first is worth a 3rd. So our 1st l, 2 2nds and 3rd should get us to 1 no problem.
  21. Not where I hoped he would land. There are some QB needy teams in front of us that would have made much more sense, from a Panthers perspective anyway.
