  1. That's been my thought as well regarding coaching. Rhule and his staff weren't qualified to really help him develop. If he comes back here, maybe the coaching staff can help him with his processing and development. If not, oh well, nothing lost.
  2. Could potentially be a new model in team building. Build a very talented receiving core, TE and solid RB. Insert FA QB or trade for one and make a run. By the time the QB cap hits, that window is likely closed anyway.
  3. Just my opinion, but I think the reason we got fleeced on the Darnold trade was Rhule had already played his hand with T2G. We were desperate and everyone knew it. Even being the only interested party, when you have no where else to turn, you're going to get stuck paying more than you want to. No one could seriously think we were headed into that season with PJ Walker as our starting QB. Was never going to happen.
  4. As long as we've done our homework on whoever we get, I really don't care. It's the first time I've ever felt like we have people in the building capable of actually doing a thorough evaluation.
  5. I tried guessing weight. Laughing before they step on the scale isn't really a good thing.
  6. I don't have an issue as a backup. He's about Derek Anderson level to me. As a starter, oy!
  7. I could have laughed until I puked if I saw that. But I probably would have skipped the laughing part.
  8. Maybe he should be asking why the NFL allowed an up and coming superstar to be the target of multiple uncalled head shots and why he wasn't old enough to get the call.
  9. And certainly a possible one. A team would likely invest 10's of 1000's of dollars to negotiate a deal of this caliber. Why spend that money if you feel it's a probably outcome that the Ravens just match the deal and sign him.
  10. I would also think that it would open the NFLPA to lawsuits if one player gets certain contract concessions and another player didn't. That's more legal BS than they're probably interested in getting involved in.
  11. I'm not triggered. I'm just saying his study habits may be his study habits. He may learn information a certain way and that's just how he does things. Bringing Baker in doesn't have to change that. I have a certain way I have to study or I don't retain information well. It's just my normal. Personally, I don't think Darnold has the mental ability to be a 100m QB. I also don't think Rhule or his staff was in any way capable of developing Darnold or anyone for that matter as a QB.
  12. This is how good companies do business and the NFL is a business. I expect at some point he'll come back to the Ravens and end up signing a deal for less than what was originally offered.
  13. The first business deal with my own money I ever negotiated I got taken to the cleaners because I was outmatched and had no clue. Never again. The fees I pay my attorney are all now figured into the cost of doing business.
  14. These people do multi million dollar deals for breakfast. Lamar and his mom are so far out of their league it's embarrassing at this point.
  15. Actually it can be debated. His injuries are a legitimate concern. How does he fit into your offense can be questioned. His talent as a QB absolutely need to be questioned. How signing him allows you to build a team around him can be questioned. All of these and much more factor into whether or not he can be OUR franchise QB. Contrary to what you keep repeating. LJ did not win 75% of his games. His team won 75% of the games in which he played. How much he was directly responsible for those wins or losses is a completely different statistical analysis. Remember, Payton Manning had one of the worst games by a QB in SB history and still won (with some ref help). Denver's defense dominated and he got the win. It's a total team that wins, not just the one with the flashiest superstar.
  16. It sounds like he could be very ritualistic in his preparation routine. Watch any professional sport and you will see athletes following a specific routine before every game. People develop study habits. It's normal.
  17. And judging by the NFLs reaction, they don't think he's worth 200 mil guaranteed and 2 1sts.
  18. Because it's very possible and likely they don't feel he's worth what you think he's worth.
