  1. It's one thing to write the playbook. It's another to be the one using it. Think of it like an artist who draws an out line then hands it to someone else to interpret and color. Guarantee you its not going to look the same as what the original artist intended.
  2. I remember when the whole board was laughing at Dan Campbell for what he was saying when he was introduced by the Lions as their HC. I wish we had that kind of passion here.
  3. Young was supposed to be far, far ahead of Stroud and Richardson. That's what the experts said. That what our GM said. That's what our coaches said. That's what all the talking heads said. Here we are week 6 and the only time Bryce has shown anything that looks like he may be capable of being an NFL QB is in the 4th quarter when the other team is in prevent defense. So either BY isn't as ready as all the experts, coaches, GMs and talking heads said, or he is ready, and this is what it is and it isn't good.
  4. I didn't like Rhule when he was hired. He always struck me as a rah rah guy, not a coach. I thought if he was ever going to be successful it would be because he brought in the right people and could organize them. My choices last year were Steichen, Johnson, Evero and Ryan's. 2 are now HC, 2 are available. Even Gannon in AZ is doing something with a whole lot of nothing.
  5. I haven't forgot that but part of the big problem with BB is toward the end, he wasn't giving Brady weapons. BB has been GM/Coach and part of those duties include the refreshing of talent. Defense is great, but since the NFL has shifted to more offense heavy, BB hasn't made that move. He also hasn't been very good at refreshing the talent. Having Brady there chasing rings made it much easier to bring in premium guys at a lower price tag. We view BB differently and thats cool. I consider BB a retread at this point in his career. 5 years ago, no. I think his prime coaching days have passed him by.
  6. It's looking more and more like Brady carried that duo far more than Bill did. If he's fired at the end of the season and then re-hired elsewhere, it won't be because of what he's done since the divorce. He'd be hired based on his reputation with the GOAT QB. BB was a very good coach with Brady, but plugging him into a similar situation as he's in in NE isn't going to yield different results.
  7. No more retread coaches after they've been fired from their previous gig. Get some young blood in here.
  8. Wedding video. It was a descent into hell after that.
  9. Williams has done nothing to prove he's worth anything more than a 3rd at this point. Sure he's got potential bit he's been injured, stupid, and I've heard a few comments, but can't verify to be clear, that his work ethic isn't the highest. I'd take the deal to get something but Fitts should still be fires for not taking the Rams offer among other things.
  10. My biggest issue with Fitts has been misreading the draft and having back to back years with trade up panic picks. First he did it with MC. This year he did it with DJ. Grabbing a LS instead of a day 2 grade guard. It's just one thing after another. But you have zero chance of building a good roster of you're panicking on draft day.
  11. Happy to be starting Moesert this week in Huddle FF league.
  12. Being the number 1 puck in the NFL draft is pretty much the definition of asking for this. You're going to a bad team. It's not a good situation to play in. But you're making 8 figures and are set for the rest of your life if you behave financially. If you've ever seen an NFL draft, this is exactly what to expect as a draft pick.
  13. After Miami drops 70 on us and costs Tepper his shot at the office fantasy football pool.
  14. No he can't. I personally don't think he's ready to start yet. I get why he is, but Minshew has looked better so far. He needs some time to learn the NFL game. He also needs to learn how to preserve his body. Even Josh Allen has had to cut back because his body can't take the abuse of being a power runner all game. Cam was the first to have his career shortened because of relying on athletic ability too much to carry his offense.
  15. I was an AR guy. I always thought he had the lowest floor and highest ceiling if he could get the right coaching and system. Steichen was probably the best HC he could have gotten. I also don't think he was worth moving up to get. He was a project pick. At 9, that's a good pick. Trading up to get him, no. The only pick worth trading up to get was CJ.
  16. I wanted AR and Stroud. I had no interest at all in BY. He was going to have to be the exception to every rule regarding NFL QBs and that's not a guy you trade away that amount of capital to get.
  17. They can get way more for that first pick than Brian Burns if they wanted to trade it and not select a QB this year. That pick can get 3 1sts and probably a couple of 2nds.
  18. You can't trade BY without firing Reich, Fitts, the whole damn scouting department and Tepper selling the team. Anything less won't matter one fuging bit.
