  1. Sacks is a deceiving stat. Being able to gain pressure, regardless of sacks, is far more important. Also, being able to be a force in the run game is a must if you want to be paid like an elite edge rusher.
  2. And that's how you know Tepper is a meddling owner. No coach with his choice of QBs is going to choose the one that least fits his system.
  3. If it's true about Tepper forcing the Young pick, how can you expect Reich to be excited about being forced to use a QB that he didn't want. He's doomed to failure right from the beginning. Getting fired was probably the only way he was gonna get paid.
  4. Why give up a sweet gig in the booth to come work for this turd circus.
  5. Looking at the rest of the draft picks, especially Matt Corral, and saying these guys are really good at their jobs, wouldn't be an argument I'd make trying to defend BY as the number 1 pick.
  6. Agree. But you can't do all of that forcing the new GM or coach to build an entire team around one single player who is not showing much, if anything, in terms of elevating the players around him. You bring in a new team CEO, GM and HC, the best you can get given our situation, and let them build their team. If they feel Bryce is worth building around, give them the freedom to do it. If they don't, give them the freedom to not build around him. You can hamstring yourself by limiting yourself to only people who believe in Bryce. You have to get people who know football, and can make an evaluation for the good of the team, whether you like it or not.
  7. It will take more than a single season to fill the offense with players better than JAGs that could even run something similar to what he did at Bama. That's at least 2, maybe 3 more years to get him in a position to be successful. If you limit yourself to a coach that is best running an offense specifically suited for BY, then the HC hire is simple. Nick Saban it is.
  8. It's not the only way to succeed. It may be the only way to keep the job under Tepper, which is in and of itself a significant sign of a much larger issue. Whoever is hired should be able to provide an honest evaluation of Bryce without consequences from Tepper. Right now, Bryce shouldn't be the starting QB for the Panthers. Whether it's the QB or the offense, this isn't the right situation for BY to grow as a QB.
  9. Better question is does Bryce start next week?
  10. He was able to disect a play over 15 minutes at dinner, about 14:58 longer than on the NFL field.
  11. I've been told that's not possible. He can see the entire field and his view cannot be obstructed.
  12. Depends on if you ever plan on coaching again. If it's your last payday, taking a bigger paycheck could make sense if you don't really care about your legacy.
  13. I laugh because I know it can't happen, yet cry because I know it will.
  14. I used to drink on Saturday mornings too.
  15. Picked up Titans D this week in FF. It feels wrong betting on Zavala to suck.
  16. Happy Thanksgiving all you crazy bastards. Insanity is the only logical reason any of us are still here.
  17. Unless we get a new GM and coach, it's just another name that won't be used properly and wasted.
  18. It seems our FO has put far more importance on the ability to interview vs actual football skills. GM, coaches, players, good interview regardless of talent - you're hired. Bad interview regardless of talent - no thanks.
  19. I think regular people have a much keener sense of drafting than some want to give credit for. Say what you want about fantasy football, but one thing it's taught me is to read to flows of drafts and be able to track trends in what player values typically fall where. For example, the likelihood of finding a WR who can contribute year 1 is much higher in later rounds than an edge rusher. Late round and UDFA rbs are becoming much more plug and play instead of needing to spend that high pick, CMC, Barkley, Bijan, Gibbs. So yeah, regular folks may not have the expertise to deal with a lot of the other issues, evaluating talent, tendencies, flow, and value isn't something that should be just written off so easily as they're just fans, they couldn't possibly know anything.
  20. And anyone that disagreed had some kind of bias and was completely unable to evaluate talent.
  21. I might just stop working and let Bryce ad lib it at the line. How much worse could it get?
  22. The fact that these are the two options we've had the last 4 years is depressing in so many ways.
