  1. Franchise tackles are as rare as franchise QB. If you have the opportunity, you take it. Pitts could be great, but TE is easier to get later rounds. Kelce - 3rd Waller - 6th Kittle -5th Andrews - 3rd Top 4 TEs in football. None of them in the 1st. ‘Gronkowski and Ertz, both 2nd. Hockenson was 8th in the first and is borderline top 10. Effective TEs can be found later than a top 10 pick.
  2. But if they believe they can get a starting tackle at 37 then they could take the best wideout and still protect their franchise QB.
  3. Maybe he'll give us Washington's 1st for our 2nd to trade up for the another Little.
  4. Listen to the offers coming in to trade up for Lance.
  5. Sewell Pitts Slater Trade down to 15 if a Jones is on the board and snag Darrisaw, and possibly a 2022 1st and this years 2nd from the Pats. In the 2nd, grab Grant and meinerz.
  6. Anyone who watched 30 seconds of Little's combine knew he wasnt worth a 2nd, much less trading up to get. Hurney reached on a raw prospect AGAIN, and he blew it AGAIN and about 90% of this message board knew it when it happened. Saying Sewell and Little are comparable is like saying a Ferrari and a Gremlin are the equal just because they're painted red.
  7. True, but with so many needy QB teams, and us having just acquired Darnold, we could potentially be more likely to move by offering say 9 and their 2nd or 3rd, than just letting it ride and potentially drafting their guy. They may consider it a 20% chance we take lance because we did attend vs a 0% if we didn't attend. A little bit of uncertainty can possibly net you something. It's just part of playing the game.
  8. Ron stuck with Haskins despite his performance then cut him the next day. If you believe in a guy you don't start him then cut him, especially when he was the previous year's first round pick. If he had benched him in the 1st, we lose that game. I think Ron knew what he was doing. They weren't going far in the playoffs and losing to us, then Philly would have made it much easier for them to acquire the QB they needed. Moving up from 19 is a lot harder than from 6.
  9. We didnt win that game, Ron lost it. I'm still convinced he was trying to tank to get a better QB. He was just out sucked by Pederson.
  10. If nothing else maintaining the appearance we are still interested is important to give 8 more value than it has. Denver wouldn't trade up one spot if Lance was still on the board and we havent acted interested. As important as it is to get your guy, it's also important to maintain the illusion you're interested in theirs.
  11. 3-0 or 4-0 in the playoffs would be perfectly acceptable to me.
  12. How many teams have hired back the GM they fired?
  13. I guess it depends on of you use a long O or a short O. The long O being more appropriate atm.
  14. 1. Sewell or Slater- get a franchise tackle please 2. Jamin Davis/Richie Grant/Creed Humphrey- any of these 3 I’d be happy. 3. Meinerz - can play G or C and has a nasty streak. Not sure he makes it into the 3rd
  15. This has been my biggest argument in favor of Darnold. Gase wasn’t just terrible, he was completely incompetent. With an actual QB coach, an OC with half a brain, and a head coach that makes something out of guys that aren’t good enough for everyone else, Darnold might finally realize his potential.
  16. He's 30 and has missed 26 games in the past 4 years and is coming off season ending neck surgery. If they dont have faith in his long term health they could get Sewell and trade Smith. I'm not saying they will, but its plausible. Edit: one trade could be Smith to the Chargers for 13 and a couple later picks and they can get the CB they need also.
  17. Dallas could also be in play to trade with Detroit. They just paid Dak a lot of cash and security for his blind side would make a lot of sense.
  18. Dont forget the 15 defense generated 39 turnovers. Cam didnt carry them. It was an entire team effort.
  19. If you were making a documentary on the great Joe Namath time as a qb, would you want it narrated by James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman.
  20. It could be worse. We could have hired Adam Gase as our head coach after his catastrophic failure in Miami...
  21. I didn't expect Teddy to be great. I expected him to be mediocre and I completely agree about that contract. WTF. I didn't expect him to flat out quit and that's what I meant by folding. He just gave up on trying to win. Of all the effort it takes to get to the NFL and how hard he had to work in rehab after that injury, quitting just wasn't in the line of thinking for me when we signed him. If we take Lance at 8 I'm cool with it. If he fails we swung and missed. As a coach though, there's no way in hell I'm letting him sit behind a guy that quit on winning with this team. It's not happening, no fugging way.
