It very well could be. But if Rhule walks into that locker room and says we're losing this season so get over it, he's going to lose the locker room day 1. These guys don't play to lose. They're all going to try and improve their situation. I don't necessarily want Baker, Jimmy G or Sam, but we're going to have one of them. Baker is probably the best chance to win out of the 3. So the move makes sense from a trying to win perspective, even if we as fans don't really like it.

You do the same thing you would do if Sam won 6-8. You proceed through the offseason and try to get better and move on from Rhule and Darnold/Baker. 6-8 wins won't save his job or land a big flashy contract. You can't bank on getting a top pick for a QB in next year's draft.

These guys don't just lose because they're supposed to. They're going to try and improve their situation. Baker is on the outs in Cleveland. Sam is on the outs with at least the fan base here. Trade straight across and be done. I want Darnold no where near Corral, but I don't expect Corral to be the next Russel Wilson or Dak Prescott. He could be, I just don't expect that out of the gate.

The next dual threat quarterbacks...
SmokinwithWilly replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Matt Ryan is still a duel threat. -
I just left the restroom in such a state that the guy walking in behind me turned around and left. As the wise George Carlin once said, there's no need to eat enough fiber to build your own wicker furniture set. But to answer the question, I'm feeling pretty good right now and much lighter on my feet.

When you're starting running back has been injured as often as CMC, you need a backup with similar skills, especially if you plan to have the majority of your offense running through him. Based off last season, Chuba catches like he's wearing oven mitts and Foreman has never been much of a pass threat. So half of our current RBs skills will be lost when/if he gets injured. We are not good at the backup position currently, especially given CMCs history.

So which away games you plan on attending?
SmokinwithWilly replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not even sure I would attend home games this year. Why would I pay to go somewhere else and watch this. -
KB looks like someone photoshopped a tiny head on a big body.

Funny. I didn't mention Darnold at all. All QBs can get happy feet. Getting rhythmic timing can help anyone doing any sort of repetitive task. It takes time to develop muscle memory. I think part of why Darnold has issues in a clean pocket, and I could be wrong, is he's expecting to have to run or get hit at any second. He's more comfortable in quick routes because the ball is gone before he can get leveled. Maybe he gets better with an improved line, maybe not I still don't think he's the long term answer at our QB position.

My first thought is rhythm training. Helping to dial in timing for drops and get happy feet under control.

You don't take the heart and soul of a fan base and discard it like it's trash. You can build a new brand. You can try and draw in a younger generation. But never forget where you came from.

What 2nd year Player are you most excited about?

I'm just looking forward to seeing any of them play before week 14. -
2021 Carolina Panther's draft picks

He's probably a little nervous about Darnold and the hospital balls he tosses. -
Correct team structure has started. Now what?
SmokinwithWilly replied to lightsout's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think we can ignore the interior line either. We have some additions but we could be perilously thin at guard and center. While I'm all for getting top tier talent, I wouldn't mind moving our 1st for a couple 2nds and 3rds just to be able to fill in some of the less showy spots with the top talent that usually falls into that area. -
But just being a top 5 qb doesn't make you a SB contender. Salary cap can negate a lot of the advantages you get. Add in a vet LT and you're likely looking at 55m per year of cap space vs 6m. That's a lot of other places to improve the team. Corral could end up being good as well, just at a much lower price tag, for now. And Watson's career could be over on a bad hit or more legal BS. It's not just about managing talent on the field, you have to manage the whole picture.

The Huddle will have 100 fire Rhule threads by week 10 over/under

Clowney interest in playing close to home
SmokinwithWilly replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
All depends on the price. -
The area where Foles could be best for Corral is in the locker room helping him learning how to deal with the highs and lows of being the QB. He was a SB MVP and now he's been cut just a couple of years later. That's not something that coaches can really share. That knowledge and how to handle those ups and downs in a locker room could be invaluable to a young QBs development.

I would try to do a Baker/Sam swap straight even. Cleveland gets rid of a disgruntled Baker and replaces him with Sam who costs just as much but without the drama. Carolina gets Baker who may not be the future but can't really be much worse than Sam. Salaries are a wash. Cleveland has no leverage with Corral as our 3rd round pick. It's basically trading for a shiny new turd, but if we're talking about best chance of winning, it would make some sense for Rhule.

It was a dare. $100 bucks to eat some lutefisk and boiled cabbage.
