Deonte Brown carted off during practice
SmokinwithWilly replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am a former lifelong fat guy. Losing the first 30 pounds was worse than losing the last 120. Figuring out how to get my electrolytes right was the worst part. A change in diet changes where you get your vitamins and minerals from and even with supplements, you may not always get it right. For me, it was magnesium that I couldn't get right and I would get the wobble as I call it. My crew knew to watch for it because if it happened I was in trouble. I would just black out for a split second and start to crumble before I caught myself. Even with a nutritionist, I had a lot to learn about how my body responded to food that she couldn't teach me. -

The NFL seriously needs to consider expanding the practice squad or the roster or both. The amount of injuries is getting to be staggering. I would still like to see a minor league system with adding players similar to the waiver wire. -
Same refs?

Patterson in Atl would be a good recipe to follow if we were going to go that direction. Half RB, half receiver, 100% CMC.

I will say it wouldn't surprise me if it was done as a good ol boy type thing. There appears to be some manipulation happening during games with the refs. They've done it in regards to CTE. So to think the Goodell wouldn't give a nudge nudge wink wink for a little good publicity really doesn't seem like that far of a stretch. It's more a reflection of Goodell's handling of multiple situations as commissioner, imo.

Agreed. Don't mind the players but the contracts were baffling especially considering it was day 1. I think the plan was to have Irving and Elfein start this year and rotate into a backup role or move Elfein to center after Paradis but that isn't looking so good right now.

Picture of Panthers offensive line in action!

With the way our oline looks, makes you wonder, just how bad was Greg Little to get traded away from us.

Brady and a solid offensive line

I don't think they need to necessarily hold longer, just with some consistency. There is no way Darnold trusts the 3 on the inside to hold their blocks. You can't expect him to go through his progressions effectively when he's expecting to get clobbered any second. -
Smitty puts the blame yesterday all on the OL

It just makes you wonder what in the hell was going through Fitts mind going after Elfein and Irving day 1. I like a lot of what he has done, but those 2 moves make me wonder wtf every week. I just hope we are able to trade back and get some interior linemen this draft unless a franchise LT falls to us. -
Thoughts on Hurts' Cam Celebration yesterday?
SmokinwithWilly replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you want to stop him from celebrating, don't allow him to score. -

Never even turned his head. Granted Moton looked like he was on ice being pushed back into him in another half second. Could have very well thought he didn't have time and tried to force it. Should have put it up out of reach. -

I blame Sam for making bad decisions. But I don't just put those decisions in a bubble. Sam was getting tremendous pressure yesterday. That video looked like Sam didn't go through his progressions to see Thomas standing wide open. Now I have to ask myself why. 47% pressure is a good reason. I know he had a clean pocket, but man, if it's collapsing on you every other play, you have to ask yourself, can you really trust Paradis, Miller or Daley to hold a block? And we all know you can't. So my thought is this. Give him some time to actually get a little comfortable in that pocket and then judge him for his overall performance. Did he make some bone headed plays yesterday. You bet your ass he did. Does he need to do better? Absolutely. In NY he basically was told pass here, don't adjust, just do what I tell you to do. It was a miserable failure. Now 5 games into trying to learn how to actually be an NFL QB he's making bad throws. It's going to happen. If he doesn't get his poo together, we are going to need to move on. After 5 games, I'm not there yet, but it's going to be a short leash. -
It’s PFF. But I’m not sure this is good

You give them too much credit -
Sad thing is Hurney didn't read the Huddle or else he wouldn't have whiffed so bad with Little and Grier. If he had, he might have actually learned something from everyone pointing out the red flags on Paradis and the depth of IOL in that class. If I remember right there was a whole discussion about Grier being the pick at 100 a month before the draft.

Sam Darnold press conference after Philidelphia game
SmokinwithWilly replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's seeing ghosts and rightfully so. Our interior oline is atrocious. 43% of snaps under pressure is ridiculous. When things are constantly going wrong its hard to settle down on the occasions when it does go right. Just about every other snap he knew was going to go badly. I guarantee that's in his head right now. He's playing jumpy and anxious and with damn good reason. He has to get better when he has time. He has to stop forcing the pass and staring down his receiver. He's got stuff he has to fix. If we don't so something with the interior of this line there is going to be no fixing that. And if we do draft a new QB and it's more of the same, we're going to ruin that QB too. It's time for some changes and Miller and Daley should be at the top of that list. I'd include Paradis but there's nobody available to replace him that isn't potentially worse or would have to be signed from another team's PS. The Patriots do have a center on theirs that looked good during preseason but that's 3 games on the active roster for a flyer. -
Without improvement to Miller, Paradis and Daley all those positives just aren't going to mean much unfortunately

Had we won who were you going to give the game ball to?

What do we need to do to get back on track?
SmokinwithWilly replied to BlackPanther21_'s topic in Carolina Panthers
We need a center. It all starts there and Paradis is as bad a center as Byron Bell was a LT. -
Just Ran Into the Panther Offensive Line.....

You're the only person that ran into our oline today.
