The refs screwed us after we set a record for the world's biggest gangbang. Seriously, at that point, what's one more.

It's not necessarily practice, more setting his tone. Run blocking is more aggressive. You know the timing. First contact is yours. Garrett is all pro but run D isn't his strength. Ickey has a mean streak. Run blocking lets him embrace it. Good thing for a rookie LT vs an all pro.

Run blocking is what guys like Ickey do best. It's what he's most comfortable doing. It's his first game. Get him going doing what he does well before throwing a ton of pass blocking into the scheme.

Because you need to wait until game 15 to realize that the guy you have starting at a vital position on the oline sucks and should be replaced by someone else. Or you could read the Huddle and have known it week 1 of preseason.

I'm not blaming the refs for why we lost, but it would be nice if they at least knew the rules or would call the booth for clarification.

We fugged ourselves not firing Rhule after last season. Can't blame the refs for that one.

There's only 32 GM jobs in the NFL. Sometimes you take the job even though it isn't an ideal situation to get your foot in the door. Or he could have thought like anyone with any football knowledge other than Tepper that Rhule would have and should have been fired at the end of last year. What we've seen this offseason, the problem isn't totally on Fitts. Rhule has conducted this team like a pop warner tryout. At halftime in game 1, I'm not ready to say this is all Fitts fault that Rhule looks like what we've all said for 2 years, a piss poor college football coach.

I'm not totally there on Fitts yet simply because we don't know to what extent he is required to follow Rhule. I'd like to see him one offseason without this chucklehead of a coach.

It's hard to watch it being done well. It's also one of the reasons I don't buy the whole 7 year rebuild BS. Identify your QB, protect him, and get him freaking weapons. We're on QB 5 in less than 3 years. We've got a serious problem Identifying talent.
