  1. Why does everyone but Tepper realize Rhule is a problem?
  2. I really hope not. Baker isn't worth a 1st and he wants out of Cleveland. No need for us to give away picks to save them from their own stupidity.
  3. Minshew was actually my preferred choice over Darnold long before we made the trade. He had more swag and poise than Darnold has ever had, and I was shocked he went in a trade for a 5th. He had some success, even in Jacksonville. It may not of translated here, but I always felt he had the most upside with the least amount of risk.
  4. They both would likely have rather had a starting role than backup. And yeah, I'm pretty sure if we had offered either one of them 23m for 2 years they both would have jumped at it. What greatness did Sammy D demonstrate? His 2500 yards 9 tds and 13 ints. Maybe it was the 200 yards rushing, 5 tds and 9 fumbles. It doesn't matter if Minshew or Trubisky were better than Darnold. He was a terrible QB over the course of the season. If they had finished worse than Sam, we would be talking about a top 5 pick instead of the 6th. That's not exactly something to hang your hat on.
  5. Actually there were other QBs available that would have cost far less. Minshew or Trubisky could have easily been acquired and accomplished the same results.
  6. If he wanted to be here, he'd be here by now. Pull the offer and move on at this point. We're the ugly chick at the bar waiting for someone to take us home after last call.
  7. You can if you're Aaron Rodgers. Still, nobody gives a fug.
  8. Waiting for Watson to pick a team is like waiting for Guns n Roses to release their new album.
  9. I've accepted the fact we could trade for DW and PJ Walker could still be our week 1 QB.
  10. Brady wanted rings. Plus he had that whole line of stuff he was selling that the Patriots were supplementing his income with.
  11. If we don't land Watson expect Rhule to go full stupid.. Will pay more for someone else's trash than we did for Darnold
  12. It was time last year. Rhule is a "coach" not a GM. Recruiting in college vs NFL is a bit different.
  13. So far, there has been a lot of arrogance and ignorance when it comes to putting this "team" together. Hiring a bunch of college coaches with almost nil experience in the NFL, an offense so basic defenses knew it better than our QB, ridiculous contracts to players that aren't good, piss poor roster decisions, a terrible trade for Darnold without really watching his tape, his 5th year option, going all in for a playoff run and ending up 5-12, the system is working 1000%, announcing to the league he had a rookie all pro LT rated as a guard, insane nepotism towards anyone with a Baylor or Temple connection. Need I continue?
  14. Well he did say Rhule has to land a dynamic offensive coordinator. Maybe he meant Watson, not McAdoo.
  15. It does with enough diesel fuel then you burn it all to the ground
  16. The bigger issue with that is IF he came here because it's the only trade package Houston would agree to, would he play his 4 years and leave? We have to be 1000% sure he is going to stay 10 years or there is no point doing this at all. We would be without a franchise QB, zero elite level talent on rookie deals, and beginning the search all over again. It could end up being a very expensive rental if he doesn't see Carolina as a long term fit and rather just someone to take his contract that Houston will agree to as a trading partner.
  17. Signings like this make me wonder what the hell were we doing with Ian Thomas.
  18. By the time this is over, we could have cloned our own Deshaun Watson.
  19. RBs just don't hold their value, especially given their durability issues.
  20. They have up picks for sure, but the thing that worries me most is what kind of contract we would offer Watson immediately. 50-55m a year for 10 years, 300m guaranteed. I don't know that we would, but it wouldn't surprise if we made him the highest paid QB in the NFL.
  21. Easiest way to deal with DW and our offense would be to have long slow drives against a weak defense.
