  1. 5th year player in the league is not what I would consider a young guy by NFL standards. I'm not for purposefully losing but I am for playing guys who can get some evaluation in real game scenarios. Just disappointed for another losing season.
  2. I think either one would be a good choice. Johnson looks more creative to me, but Steichen is better at picking a defense apart and exploiting weaknesses. With the players we currently have on offense, I lean to Steichen to create an offense built around player strengths instead of relying on needing to be creative constantly.
  3. Getting it right at QB is the hardest thing to get right for any team. Most nfl teams get the QB position wrong. Things the huddle got right from the get go that were basic and all visible in under a year. Keeping Ron 1 year too long. Keeping Hurney 2.0. Rhule being under qualified from college His entire staff being from college was a bad idea and not NFL capable Cam debacle then Signing T2G to a ridiculous contract only to cut bait after a year Overpay for Darnold and the 5th year. Elflein and Irving in FA day 1. BC all over the line instead of starting at LT when he was playing better than Irving from the start. Chinn to FS after an almost DROY Camp QB competition this year Elflein over Bozeman Our "Rockstar" OC Not firing Rhule after season 2 Baker PJ Ian Thomas extension Any number of team members associated with Temple/Baylor. That's not firing a shotgun and getting lucky. The huddle was correct regarding all of this before it played out.
  4. Because LA was trying to win it all again before the door slams shut. It was a gamble to pair Donald and Burns with Stafford hurt. Teams trying to win Super Bowls make deals like this. That's not us. We can keep Burns and pay 25-30m per for 5 years or Trade him for a high 2nd, and looking like 2 high future firsts, plus use that 30m in cap space to bring in an edge rusher, LB and whatever else.
  5. Sam is on year 5. I don't consider him a young guy. We don't have anyone else other than PJ so that's pretty much irrelevant at the QB position. I'm just saying I don't care. Winning over NO doesn't change anything with regard to this franchise needing a massive overhaul. Putting yourself in a worse position in the draft just makes it a little harder.
  6. You want to know why fans are bitching so much? For the last 3 years under Rhule and going back to the last under Ron, this fan base has been right more often than our FO and coaching staff. 4 years of bumbling mindless baffoonary and somehow the fan base is bad for being pissed off at 6 wins. We weren't in contention because we were good. We had a shot because this division was absolute ass and if one team had been even marginally decent, we would have been out of it before Thanksgiving.
  7. At this point I don't care if NO goes or not. I want this team to have some measure of sustained success and if that means eating a shitburger served up by NO, fine. Meaningless wins are pointless. We're looking at a new HC, OC, DC, possibly GM, QB, and any number of players coming in and out. Play the young guys, and get prepared to get poo right for once.
  8. If it hadn't been for Urban Meyer I'd completely agree. He's the only coach worse than Rhule when that trade was made. Could have been an Elflein and Bozeman situation in Jax or he just sucked. Hard to know which when your coach is too busy being an asshole to coach football.
  9. And there's the choke job by the Harbaugh we all know and love.
  10. Yes and no. I expected this type of game, but against Ohio State. I'm not a fan of Harbaugh and his history of not being ready when big games are played.
  11. Entertainment business. That's all the NFL is. They can script games however they choose. It can't be egregious enough to cost Vegas, but steering the outcome, totally within the realm of possibility and we've pretty well seen it on a regular basis.
  12. If I remember correctly, JNo hired a relative who had negotiated a few minor contracts to negotiate this one. Gman was trying to contact him and was getting no response then the response he did get was amateur hour. Negotiations broke down, gettleman rescinded the tag, Norman asked to come back to the table but it was done, Norman hired a new agent keeping his old one as a co-counsel, he got a massive new contract, and we got fugged.
  13. Nfl will create a new "sack" rule after someone steps on Bradys old man sack during a phantom roughing the passer play. 15 yards for RTP and half the way for a "sack" violation.
  14. If the NFL doesn't want to get an even worse reputation for player safety, they need to shut him down for the year and possibly a career after an independent neurological team looks at him. That's a lot of TBI in a short period of time.
  15. Nippleshorts was bad, but JNo did himself no favors in that situation. Bringing an amateur, and that's generous, to the negotiation for the biggest contract in your life was a massive mistake. It was ego vs incompetence and the loser was the fan base.
  16. Probably doesn't calculate the trade value until the end of the season is officially over even though we all know the result.
  17. Depends on the sod. Some has a less dense root base so there is a little sponginess to it even when frozen. It's all about base prep for either. If I have 200 million invested in players annually, I'm putting in proper drainage and heating the subsurface.
  18. It's not just the turf. It also rained before the freeze happened. It takes time for that moisture to wick out of the ground and for the base to dry unless you have some kind of heating system underneath. If it's still damp, you're whole base is ice so it is exactly like playing on concrete.
  19. I'll eat my crow about BC playing guard. I didn't think his footwork or bend lent well to him at the position. Campen has done really well with him.
  20. I think this is also the first time in his career he hasn't had to worry about being leveled every play. Even last year on the plays he wasn't under pressure, you could tell he expected to get drilled.
  21. Hurt QBs don't play and big stars out means less revenue. It's all about the money and always has been.
  22. I don't know about you but until the last 2 years I haven't really considered any of the big 10 to be serious competition for Ohio State. Their conference hasn't done then any favors as far as tough opposition really over the past decade and I'm a Michigan homer.
  23. Could also be the system. When you play with some of the best OL, WRs and RBs in college football, it can leave some questions about the ability to perform under adverse situations because he very rarely had to. Not saying it's justified, but it's probably a consideration.
