CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- If you're wondering why Carolina Panthers wide receiver Domenik Hixonwas on the inactive roster for Sunday's opener against the Seattle Seahawks, you're not alone.

Hixon
Hixon wants to know, too. The Panthers signed the former New York Giants player during the offseason to add depth to a thin wide-receiving corps, to possibly be the No. 3 receiver behind Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell. After dealing with a hamstring injury for more than a month in training camp, Hixon caught three passes for 44 yards in the preseason finale against Pittsburgh and seemed good to go for Week 1. "I felt good,'' Hixon said Wednesday. "Yeah, I felt good.'' So why didn't he play? "I wasn't told why, so I can't answer that for you,'' Hixon said. "I didn't ask. All I can do is practice throughout the week, show them I am ready to play and keep on working hard.''
