This game has an example of literally everything in terms of strengths and weaknesses in Stroud’s game

It’s simple, they’re using up all that cap space they have/had next year. All these contracts are structured with big hits next year. It would be nice if we signed an edge rusher and rolled whatever left we had over after rookies, etc

That just answered every question I had about Stroud that you can’t see from just watching his games. Annnnnnd just like that my preference has now shifted back to Stroud

From a few days ago but this is the first time I’m seeing this quote

After hearing him speak at the combine I’m not surprised one bit

Lol those are f’n awful

It was either Reich or Fitterer who mentioned having a QB that’s able to set protections at the line. Young does that which is super rare for a college QB. Again if they’re neck and neck there are things that favor Stroud. Obviously his size but he also throws a better deep ball and in Reich’s system that may count for a lot

I assume he didn’t throw because he was full of water and felt like garbage

So basically we have no idea who will be drafted

An aggressive Kirk Cousins would be a really good QB Instead he’ll forever be check down Kirk which is why he’ll never win a SB. If Stroud can be an aggressive version of Kirk, that honestly wouldn’t be so bad -
He showed it once throughout an entire game during his 2 seasons worth of games I said early on his athleticism is slept on BUT he doesn’t consistently use it. Instead his footwork gets sloppy and he has a habit of drifting away when throwing under pressure

DJ Chark recently underwent ankle surgery?

I agree, if that’s who you think you’re getting moving forward then you absolutely take him over Bryce

Do we think Georgia Stroud is the Stroud we’re getting moving forward? He’s always shown flashes throughout games of being that player but never to that level. For every play he’s made with his legs there’s a few plays where his footwork goes out the window due to pressure. There’s 2 seasons worth of tape for them to look at and make a good enough guess as to who he’ll be moving forward. Stroud’s accuracy and ball placement is better than Young’s but that’s when there’s a clean pocket. Stroud was given a lot of space back there most plays, space he won’t have in the NFL often. I’m enjoying watching these two because I wasn’t leaning either way going into it. I started off wanting Stroud but I’m slowly wanting Bryce more now

There’s a new test https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2023/03/21/nfl-s2-cognition-quarterbacks/ https://www.bleachernation.com/nfl/2023/02/25/one-test-hints-this-qb-class-is-exceptional-packers-coaches-skipping-the-combine-and-other-nfl-bullets/

Honest question… If Ohio State wasn’t given that chance against Georgia, would many of you even be considering C.J. at 1? or where do you think C.J. would have been drafted if Michigan was his final college game?
-
Even in that Michigan prior to the Georgia game there’s a significant difference in his footwork in the pocket with pressure. Georgia he legit didn’t give a f*ck and stood tall and stepped into his throws. Michigan he’s throwing fade aways. I wish McCown would’ve chosen a different game of his to breakdown. Would’ve been a hell of a lot more interesting

I wonder what it would take for the Panthers to drop to 2. I can’t imagine Houston parts with that 12th pick to move up one spot but I also can’t imagine Carolina passing up on the guy they traded up to take for anything less
