Because there’s quite a few options out there for New England. It’s crucial that we trade Bridgewater (IF we get Watson) and save 13 million versus having to cut him. We could make him our 2nd post June 1 cut but Shaq’s contract makes him a really strong candidate for that

Teddy Bridgewater + 5th rounder to New England for their 2 6th rounders

Teddy Bridgewater Unfollows Panthers on Instagram
*FreeFua* replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
So you acknowledge that you’re not entirely sure if that’s actually Teddy but still engage and take another shot at him? You’re the first to throw shade when a credentialed reporter does something dumb but you do something like this? Surely you can’t still be overly confused as to why the Panthers won’t give you credentials, can you? -

CMC to Denver as part of it would make some sense -
Pretty much. If they want defensive starters I don’t see how we top anyone’s offer while holding onto Burns. 3 1st rounders is a given. Mayyyyybe if we offered CMC and YGM we might get it done? But like you, I agree, it starts with those 3 if I’m Houston

I’m curious to see what they do with Paradis. Personally, I don’t think you can cut him and expect to replace 4/5 OL positions in one offseason. I don’t think Paradis was as bad as many think as he suffered from having to play next to Chris Reed at times. That left side of the line was a real problem when Okung wasn’t playing which was most of the time. Assuming pick 8 ends up getting shipped off, it would be franchise changing to land a LT in round 2

Weatherly and Palardy ALSO being released today!

It’s refreshing to see this organization waste little time in trying to correct admitted mistakes. There are still more moves they can make to provide themselves with enough cap space to make a few important moves. Last years mess was avoidable and obviously we’re paying for some of that now but if they gained valuable experience from it, hopefully it’ll end up being worth it in the long run. I mean, we all managed to agree Clausen wasn’t a wasted pick because he netted us Cam. Maybe Bridgewater will end up being a valuable signing because he pissed Tepper off enough to demand and later land Watson... -
Good Observer article on Teddy and other QB stuff

Still losing sleep over that eh? -
Yeah, they know this. I personally thought they’ve made their intentions quite clear so far this offseason. Again, it’s February 18th... of course as of today Teddy is our QB. Can things change? Of course. Options are limited though. Lawrence and Wilson are going 1-2 to the Jags and Jets and that isn’t changing. They made a real run at Stafford, offering their 1st rounder... so they’re trying
-
Not sure why everyone immediately freaks out as if it’s set in stone that Teddy starts in 2021. He literally says ‘much can change’... it’s February 18th! Houston will eventually have to cave to Watson’s demand of wanting to be traded. As far as the draft goes though, I don’t think the Jets trade that #2 pick.

Yes this deserved its own thread. And yes, Bill knows what the hell he’s talking about.

ESPN Predicts Watson to be the Panthers starter in 2021

Nah I’m saying it wouldn’t be made public knowledge. These guys have so much money. They live in a different world -

At what point does Tepper pick up the phone and tell Cal he’ll write him a check for whatever he wants to trade him Watson? -
I think you’re better suited for the role of assistant to the Gm

The question of Curtis. Tim Weaver wants to keep him.

One of the many things I’ve always been envious of Seattle for was their ability to find WR’s outside of the 1st round. Both Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse went undrafted. Golden Tate 2nd round, Tyler Lockett 3rd round and DK Metcalf 2nd round. Hopefully Fitterer can carry over some of that success. You cannot be paying your WR3 these days given the cap and the price of contracts for other positions. -

I could see them waiting until draft day. Have a deal in place with whoever and have them pick a player for them. Then have that team send over their next 3 1’s so essentially they’d be getting 4 1’s -

Watching many here on the huddle and on Twitter draw their own conclusions as to what happened with Cam and the Panthers is hilarious. So many of you just need to stop. -

Yep. I mean I’d rather not trade Brian Burns but if Houston says “Watson is yours if you include Burns” I’m cool with it. There shouldn’t be a dude on this roster that’s untouchable when mentioning a deal for Watson. -
Eagles and Colts reach deal on Wentz trade
*FreeFua* replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
lol at the people who honestly thought Wentz was going to net the Eagles 2 1st rounders. Most thought a few months ago there was no way the Eagles would be able to move Wentz. So the Eagles can move forward with their guy (Hurts) and Reich can try to fix Wentz. I’m shocked the Eagles got as high of picks as they did. -
What is your max offer to Houston for Watson?
