  1. If they thought Lance or Fields was a franchise QB they would’ve moved up to 3 to take them. Now if they fall to 8 may they roll the dice? Who knows.
  2. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/jetswire.usatoday.com/2021/04/03/bart-scott-jets-should-stick-with-sam-darnold-franhcise-quarterback/amp/ Bartt Scott weighed in on Darnold and the Jets QB situation 2 days ago...
  3. This was from 6 days ago. Robby talks about Gase/Bowles, the Jets overall not caring, CULTURE, Rhule and a lot more. This interview becomes a lot more relevant to us now that we have Darnold. This interview probably deserves its own thread tbh. Robby says he hopes he’s a Panther for life
  4. Jordan starts talking about Sam around the 5:15 mark. Talks about what they’re going to work on this offseason, Sam’s work ethic and more
  5. You have to think the Bengals are a 100% lock to take a tackle. Had the media not fallen in love with Sewell so long ago, Slater would be getting a lot more attention right now. If Slater is there at 8, I’m sprinting the card to the podium
  6. My fear is that Cincy and Detroit both go tackle. Detroit would move Slater to RT. Maybe Cincy takes Slater and Detroit values someone else more than drafted Sewell and moving him to RT...
  7. It’s Slater or Sewell. If both are gone you trade back. Hopefully Denver stays at 9 and Washington or New England want to move up. My trade back target is Darrisaw. Jaycee Horn is awfully tempting but you have to give Darnold a LT. You traded for him in hopes of turning around his career. He needs a LT to have a shot at that
  8. @TheRumGone I just looked, and Darnold and Jets went 6-2 in their last 8 games. Sam was actually 7-6 that year. Had he not missed those games due to mono who knows. I legit can’t think of any weapons worth a damn he would’ve had that year. Then last year was just a downright mess. Maybe you just throw out last season entirely and hope to get another shot on his crucial year 3 I see both sides of this one especially after the Teddy debacle last year but I’m going to be optimistic because sitting here and counting down the days to the following year ain’t much fun, for me at least.
  9. I do agree about the 2nd rounder. That is what I think most of us have hesitation about. 6th and next years 4th absolutely do it. The 2nd rounder definitely would make me think. But given how this offseason has played out so far our options were becoming limited. Josh Norris isn’t wrong when he said that if the Panthers liked Fields or Lance they would’ve traded up. I said a week ago I’m not even sure they take Fields if he’s there at 8. They backed themselves into a corner with Teddy, there was no way he could play another game here so they went out and got Sam. Last year was Sam’s worst. With Gase eventually being fired I think it all came undone which is unfortunate because Darnold had a solid finish to the 2019 season. Plus that 3rd year is crucial. I agree on the coaching too. We can sit here and blame OL, WR and etc but he pulled the trigger on some balls he shouldn’t have. I guess we’ll soon find out how much of it was coaching and how much of it was Sam.
  10. And that’s exactly how the Panthers felt which is why they made the move for Darnold
  11. Yep. And if he downright stinks we essentially sent a 2nd and 4th to move up in next years draft. Which ain’t bad these days. Of course the worst case scenario is we go 7-10 and Darnold doesn’t look that great and we are now out some capital to try and move up. But I think Darnold has shown enough really good flashes the first 3 years that he’s worth the risk if you believe in your coaches. Which is exactly what Rhule is supposed to be good at
  12. Most guys who do breakdowns will tell you the good plays he makes are special. They’re right. There are a lot of QB’s that are not physically capable of doing some of the stuff you see in these clips. He’s not even 24 and hasn’t had the proper coaching in order to take the next step. Just like the light went on for Baker after they hired Stefanski, we’re banking on the light coming on for Darnold with Rhule and co. He has all the tools you could ever ask for, it’s cleaning up the bad plays that comes with GOOD coaching!
  13. Him and everyone close to him seems to be quite thrilled he’s finally going to have a real chance at succeeding.
  14. Of course an incredibly in-depth breakdown gets little to no action on this forum. This video goes over 95% of huddlers heads but that doesn’t stop that same 95% from littering the first page with their takes on a QB they’ve most likely not seen play more than twice. Like Igo, I’m going to once again choose to be optimistic and there’s more reasons to believe this one might work out.
  15. Saw this the other day actually. Good video, thanks for posting! Sam isn’t even 24 yet and has shown the ability to make special plays. Had Mahomes made those first two plays we’d be seeing them regularly on highlight reels weekly. Darnold made a ridiculous play against the Bills his rookie season similar to those two as well. This video helps show that a lot of times he’s making the correct reads and pre snap adjustments, that’s important to note at 23. That is exactly what Rhule and co. don’t want to have to go through with a rookie QB. JT O’Sullivan did a break down of his Rams game... Ends the video off by saying “at times it is special” and that’s why you make this trade. Combine what the two videos are saying and you have a kid who was in an organization that cannot draft and develop talent to save their lives and of course there are still going to be issues. A competent coaching staff makes a world of a difference. Baker Mayfield finally put Browns fans minds to ease this season. In 2019 Baker threw for 22 TD’s to 21 INT’s then a competent HC walked through the door in Kevin Stefanski and boom, Baker goes for 26:8. Rhule and co. will be put to test now. Darnold has all the tools and ability, he needs coaching. Let’s see what you got Matty!
  16. If we end up with Lance, I think they’d have him sit the entire year. He’s that raw still
  17. They’re not trading up a spot for Lance. In this scenario they’d have either Lance, Sewell or Slater to choose from at 8
  18. Fields/Lance Sewell Slater Horn Pitts Chase
