I just don’t know how they would go about fixing the OL if they took on Cousins contract. That’s why I say a swap of 1st round picks would be crucial. We wouldn’t have much left in FA. Although if you trade for Cousins you’d most likely be extending him. I’m sure they’d backload the contract.

I will say this… The Vikes had one of the worst defenses in the league this year. Week 1, Dalvin Cook fumbles in OT. Week 2, their kicker misses a chip shot for the win Against Detroit, Dantzler gives up a 5 yard cushion in the 5 and watches a dude run a comeback route in front of him for the win. 3 games that the Vikes had absolutely no business losing. They win these and they’re 11-6 and in the playoffs with a terrible defense. Cousins isn’t awful. He’s a good QB but yeah, he isn’t worth what he wants money wise. He isn’t going to win you a SB. So if Tepper is just trying to fill the stadium and sneak into the playoffs, Cousins makes sense. Come November/December if this team is leading the division the stadium would be full

Cousins is probably the top QB in the middle tier of QB’s like Garopollo, Carr, Tannehill Higher completion percentage type guys. Won’t win because of them. More likely to check down on a 3rd and long and raise that completion percentage than risk an incompletion throwing for a 1st down And no, I do not want Kirk f’n Cousins

I could see something like pick 6 and Darnold for Cousins and their 1st rounder… Need to make that money work somehow This is really why I’m not against Pickett. I’d rather have Pickett on a rookie deal than trade for basically Pickett (Cousins or Garopollo) and pay them their salary

Completely agree I much rather have Pickett on a rookie deal than trade for a Garopollo, Carr, Cousins, Tannehill, etc type QB. I think those are Pickett’s comps. Good enough to win with if everything around them is good. So with that in mind you’re going to need all the extra cap space. Pickett does a lot of things well but I also think he’s a lot more willing to take downfield shots than some of those guys I mentioned above. He moves better than most of them too I won’t throw a fit if we draft him. I’ll just do what I’ve been trying to do more of lately, just hope for the best…

Talent is definitely not the issue with CJ Hopefully going through training camp with the Panthers helps him out
