Which pick was it that the Niners added to make Fitterer accept their deal and not the Rams?
-
Minus a couple of games the kid hasn’t played football in 3 years… Combine that with the fact he’s still raw, Trey has a massive uphill battle to turn his career around
-
There aren’t many good ones these days
-
What makes Scott “common sense smart”? Common sense would have been to not pick up Sam’s 5th year option and let him play out the year. If they absolutely needed to they could’ve tagged him which would’ve costed more but a lot less risky of a gamble

So which QB do we think will be available at #9?
*FreeFua* replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Will Levis is a souped up Baker Mayfield -
Route running is everything and Smith-Njigba will put guys in a blender while running a 5 yard out Moore, Smith-Njigba and Marshall give you 3 guys with different skill sets
-
Smith-Njigba is my dude. Olave was my favorite WR last year and I think Jaxon is better than Olave. Let me be very clear. I would sell the farm to get a QB whether it be via trade or draft I don’t care. So the thought of using pick 9 on anything other than a QB hurts to talk about. But if for whatever reason we end up on the clock at 9 without a QB to pick from, Smith-Njigba is my WR1

Yeah it’s a no brainer for them
-
Yep so have I and that’s the difference. They’re restructuring guys who are contributing to their team. Where as we’re constantly sitting on piles of dead money thanks to people like Matt Kalil, Teddy and now CMC and Robby. As much as the cap is a “myth” it does still exist. The Saints practically gave CGJ away because there was just no way they were going to be able to pay him. This offseason will either make or break us for the next couple of seasons Unless someone like Brady or Rodgers is coming here I’m not sacrificing too much future cap space. I let my rookie QB and new coach get their feet wet next season and then come 2024 I get aggressive

Tepper clearly wants to change the Panthers identity
*FreeFua* replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well the Tampa loss came soon after the “protect the bank” week loss against Pittsburgh Didn’t seem like they remembered much. And core pieces like Burns and Brown who have been most vocal about Wilks showed up the least in Tampa -

The players want to play for Wilks! Also the players, let’s let a Trubisky led Steelers team walk the ball right down our throats for 3 hours The division tried gifting us a playoff spot but Wilks and co. let Brady and Evans absolutely torch us Wilks and these guys had their chance and they didn’t do anything with it. Why in the hell would anyone want more of this? -
With Wilks it’ll be changed to Keep Punting
-
Brian Johnson has a connection with Anthony Richardson so I’m all for that
-
What does everyone like about Steichen so much? Imo was going to succeed with or without him. Hurts ability to run makes calling plays a hell of a lot easier. What Johnson has done with a statue in Goff is exciting. Ben is constantly scheming guys open and making Goff’s life easy. I couldn’t even imagine what Johnson would be able to do with a mobile QB
-
Pretty much. At the end of the day it’s her team too. And quite frankly it can’t get much worse than what we’ve endured with Dave
-
Scott Fitterer would be fired by week 5
-
No thanks
-
We’re Panthers fans. I think we all expect to be underwhelmed
-
Ben Johnson can bring DJ Chark with him as a vertical WR It’s about damn time we get a real TE again. Especially if we’re going to have a rookie QB This should be a fun offseason but I’m sure they’ll find a way to piss on our parade before it even starts
-
Oh man buckle up They’re going to go for it this offseason after listening to Fitterer Not sure why he shared as much as he did but sounds like they’ll blow a good chunk of future cap space and draft assets taking their shots Vertical WR, TE with speed, LB, pass rusher opposite of Burns, ballhawk at the backend. Not that anyone thought he was staying but to make a few splashy signings/picks this offseason then hand the keys to Wilks would be like pairing Cam Newton up with Shula all over again
-
No regrets after going 6-6 If this isn’t the most Panthers thing ever I don’t know what is

A bunch of players should’ve taken the day off once Burns decided to

Geno Smith needs to be paid and Jared Goff isn’t a good enough reason to pass up on a QB if there’s one you like. Both of these teams are only picking this high due to La and Denver. This might be their best chance to land a QB without having to trade anything
