  1. Dudes saw the Ian Thomas extension and said “no way I should be getting paid less than that guy”
  2. This stuff plays a large role in if the show ends up being worth your time and money. Which is why I follow it
  3. https://www.rotoballer.com/player-news/deandre-hopkins-will-be-flexible-with-contract/1146241?amp=1 We’d most likely have to extend him to make this deal work
  4. The salary cap plays a massive role in how things operate in the NFL. Every year the Panthers are stuck restructuring bad contracts due to having little to no money to spend. Hence why we were a mess during Cam’s time here. We’re about to have two of the most important positions locked up under rookie deals and right off the bat we hand out a dumb deal to Shy Tuttle and quite frankly a bit more than we should’ve for Hurst Fitterer needs to win this year and is going to sacrifice a lot of our future to try and do so. This is how the mess begins. Sue me for wanting to see the Panthers build a consistent winning team better?
  5. Just say you don’t understand how the salary cap works instead of deflecting Math is hard.
  6. It’s a bad contract. It’s how we start getting into the mess we’re always in with the cap
  7. I can’t believe anyone wants to put up with his BS at this point
  8. Not hard to see why this dude always crumbles in the playoffs Mental midget
  9. Tanking would’ve been rolling with Trask. This is actually good as they should at least win a few games I mean there were people thinking we’d make the playoffs last year after trading for Baker
  10. I agree. Unlike Thomas he’ll take on contact and actually get to the line to gain. That much was obvious from his time in Cincy
  11. He’s going to have to with the way Reich likes to use his tight ends I really preferred Gesicki due to how much Reich utilizes his tight ends. Neither guy is a great blocker so yeah Obviously this is a massive upgrade from what we have but the bar was literally laying on the floor
  12. a lot because we’re just using all our money for next year…
  13. Thomas is here until next year. Him and Donte will probably be gone next offseason
  14. Oh good lord Ah yes the Saints, they haven’t paid significant consequences at all due to their cap issues. They’ve been able to keep all their good players the last few years… smh
  15. And where do you think the money is coming from this year to sign these guys? Dalton has a void year in 2025 that counts for 3 mill against our cap already
  16. By the time this offseason is over I don’t think we’re going to have as much cap space in 2024 as a lot of you think we will Assuming a Burns extension gets done. They’ll probably take a big hit next year. Von and Shy are 20 mill against our cap. A lot of these contracts are being structured this way due to all the dead money/lack of space this year. Shaq’s contract hasn’t been posted yet either and I’m sure they just pushed most of it over to next year Guys like Donte and Ian can be cut though so save a nice chunk
  17. could end up being legit but as of now nothing… Go watch Ebron’s 2018 highlights to get an idea of how much Reich likes to use his TE. Maybe Waller’s injury history scared them off and that would be fair but we need to get a real TE
  18. The fact Montgomery is getting 3/18 tells me the Lions most likely offered Williams that first Which makes me worried about what we’re about to pay him
  19. Means Williams is likely signing elsewhere and soon I think people think Williams is a lot better than he actually is due to the number of touchdowns he had last year
  20. There’s a few of these where Young doesn’t see his guy in the middle of the field and that’s my concern. Kyler struggles to see the middle of the field too. Meanwhile CJ throws some of the prettiest balls down the middle of the field you’ll ever see. I feel with CJ, Reich can get back to what he was doing in 2018 with Luck https://horseshoeheroes.com/2022/09/06/frank-reich-excited-surprise-world-with-colts-real-offense/ The offense will probably consist of a lot of play-action and timing routes. With a quarterback like Ryan who specializes in accuracy and being on time, Reich has likely designed an offense that will involve a lot of crossing routes and action in the middle of the field with Indy’s massive tight ends.
  21. Thielen’s route running combined with Stroud’s ability to throw guys open/ball placement would extend Thielen’s career by a year or two
  22. From one terrible red head to another
