The Case for(or Against) Drafting/Signing a TE

Fixing the issues from the first game was more so Bryce using his legs which I really wish he’d do more often but I’m also assuming his ankle is in pretty rough shape We couldn’t get much going in game 1 against the Saints and it wasn’t all that different game two. On the first drive Bryce scrambled for 15 on 3rd down extending that drive leading to a TD On the FG drive in 2nd Quarter Bryce extended a 4th down play completing a pass to TMac for 21 yards And then second half/old tendencies Canales really starts coaching scared with a lead. Which leaves the margin for error on any drive literally zero -
I honestly don’t even know what you’re rambling on about here. The OL gave up multiple immediate pressures that Bryce overcame and made plays. Bryce was the main reason this offense was able to move the ball at all on Sunday. Overall the OL isnt a top 10 OL in terms of pass protection which is a Dan Morgan problem. Especially given the amount of cap he’s got tied into them The box score watching casuals are being exposed in this thread it was only fitting you jumped in Carry on

I really don’t think Otton’s price tag will be overly high this offseason. He’s had a down year -

I assume Otten will be a Panther in 2026 Although someone like Kenyon Sadiq is fun to think about it -
“only” due to the time of possession of a lot of their drives And I think the fact this defense can’t stop a nose bleed plays a role in Canales struggling to find a balance between controlling the clock and passing some games The Seahawks were down 16 in the 4th, came back and won yesterday and they punted twice in the 4th. We absolutely do not have that luxury. This team lacks so much talent across the roster
-
And how’s that highest paid OL holding up in pass protection? Not good I’m not going over the investments with you your logic is so flawed. But you just repeat the same crap every post. Investments don’t equal production. Tough to have these conversations when half this board doesn’t understand half this crap

I’ve seen a few people mention the fact NO only had 10 points going into the 4th as some sort of victory by the defense. I assume you’re box score watching? The Saints had 4 real possessions going into the 4th quarter. One was the 11:22 minute TD drive and the other a 7:58 FG drive According to nextgenstats there are normally 24 possessions in a game. There were 16 in Sundays game and that’s including a one play kneel down “possession” at the end of the first half and the final 1 play “possession” at the end of the game For comparison, there were 11 possessions in last nights Seahawks Rams game in the 4th quarter alone

Dan was interested in trading for Hendrickson. I’m sure there will still be some interest this offseason with him being an FA but coming off an injury on the wrong side of 30… who knows
-
Yep fully agree its when the play breaks down and he has to actually think on the fly all hell breaks loose with him Then if he’s pressured that’s another issue too Dudes like Jefferson and JSN make him look so good because they’re typically always open and Darnold can drop back and get them the ball more times than not
-
Edge will be top priority for Dan this offseason Either Trey Hendrickson or he’ll try and trade for a bonafide edge rusher (Crosby)
-
Get pressure on Sam and more times than not he’ll do something bad Our game against him is meaningless but our inability to generate pressure will have Sam looking like Tom Brady
-
Well both his brothers seem pretty dumb so I’d imagine he’s not far behind

Never fails

TMac most likely running a hook and Legette with corner over top Legette turned his head around over his left shoulder. He wouldn’t have done that for any other route

https://x.com/schrayguy/status/2000345693031219626?s=46&t=W75E23VenL1ei42iX22E5g he gets hit high as he’s following through. Still hits his marker
-
Serious? Bryce threw that thing with crazy anticipation and put it where it needed to be TMac fell on the play. Legette running the corner and the OL had pressure in Young’s lap immediately. Young bailed the entire thing out throwing that thing as early as he did

Mike Evans and Chris Godwin >>>>>> anything we going DK and Lockett >>>>>>> anything we got What is really scary is that Canales who is a WR guy thought XL was also a 1st round pick

Since losing in the AFC Championship in 2022, Joe Burrow is 17-15 the last 3 seasons He wanted Cincy to pay Chase and Higgins. They did. They scored 0 points Sunday and Burrow has thrown some horrible interceptions the last 2 weeks A QB always needs a good team around them. Stafford going from Detroit to La is a great example

I meant write off in the entire class being absolute garbage and that being on Dan FA was pretty solid but Dan and Brandt handing out one big terrible contract to Turk Wharton. Milton was their top target and the pivot from Milton to Turk while paying Turk what they did was insane. Id LOVE to know had we not paid Turk what type of contract he would’ve received. 3/30 mayyyybe? This is someone Brandt obviously vouched for. I’ve watched a few of Tilis’ interviews now. One with Jourdan and one with Yates. He’s a big Moneyball fan. Giving Turk the deal they gave him is the complete opposite of the whole Moneyball idea. They paid a dude who they saw some potential in money that you’d pay someone that has actually made an impact The worst part is that he’s 100% here next year too. That contract keeps him here until 2027 for sure
-
My guess is that they Jonathan Cooley Pretty much. You just can’t draft flat out busts. You look any bad team in the leagues draft history and they’re all pretty similar. Find 3-4 guys that can contribute even if they’re just average and you’ll build a solid floor to where you can then fill other holes in FA and you’d have a pretty solid team
-
I agree this draft class doesn’t excite me much either If we’re picking in that 14-18 range based on what’s most likely available CB, ILB, TE or even WR make most sense I don’t think Morgan has the time to wait on another edge to develop. I think he goes and grabs a proven one to make an immediate impact They’re really not. Size meaning durability. No one ever thought this dude would be trucking people or breaking tackles in the pocket. People thought he’d get broken in half after taking his first sack/hit He’s one of the better QB’s at avoiding sacks this year
