  1. They do mention Brees but said he’s 1 of 1. Said it would take awhile for Bryce to get there. Which is fair. Brees became Brees due to understanding coverages and throwing to spots. If Bryce were to ever reach that ceiling would it still be with the Panthers? I don’t know if Tepper is patient enough. I personally think this season is a big one for Bryce. If the Panthers were banking on him becoming Drew Brees while acknowledging anything short of that probably results in him being a bottom third(?) QB in the league then that’s a crazy bet to make when deciding whether or not to draft a kid 1st overall. like you said, it’s his deep ball that MUST improve. It would open up so much for him. It’s why I’m wanting to see him throw deep in camp so badly. Seems like Canales is going to try and get Bryce out of the pocket more. Which will open things up. He’s good at keeping his eyes downfield. He’s capable of running. If he added a deep ball that defenses had to respect on top of those two things… we’d have something I agree. The Saints had such a well rounded roster. They had talent everywhere and should’ve won another SB. It was Brees arm that held that team back from winning another SB
  2. Compared him to Andy Dalton. Said It would’ve been fine to draft Bryce late 1st/early 2nd and then take advantage of his rookie contract Like a few of us have mentioned they then go on to say the problem with these types is when it comes time to paying them Once that Tua cap hit starts coming into play I think Miami will be toast. The problem is you build these super teams around some of these guys and they look good enough that teams are afraid to move on from them. How do you sell a fan base on moving on from a QB while you’re going to the playoffs. If Bryce’s ceiling is somewhere between Purdy/Tua is it possible to win a SB with him? I personally don’t see it
  3. If Bryce manages to lead us to another top pick and we’re able to land Carson Beck, I doubt there will be a “rebuild” If this OL is what they expect it to be and XL/Mingo start playing well, then this roster is set up pretty nicely for a rookie QB. Re start the rookie contract clock for cap purposes and this thing could really take off. The worst case scenario is that we once again go 7-10 or 6-11 while winning like we did with Sam Darnold. Knowing we need to move on from Bryce but we need to trade up to land a top QB
  4. Your QB needs at least one special physical trait Cam had legs and powerful arm Stroud has his arm Bryce doesn’t have anything. His brain doesn’t count when he doesn’t have the physical traits to take advantage of this “super brain” It’s been so damn long since we’ve had a real QB that the bar for some of these training camp throws has been set so low. As far as system QB’s go I think Tua is holding that Dolphins team back. His numbers look great but he’s a product of that system. Tua is another one that doesn’t have any special physical traits and when push comes to shove the Dolphins always come up short
  5. These are just 1 on 1’s. I’m talking 11’s or id even settle for something deep in 7’s at this point. Bryce hasn’t thrown anything deep. There’s no way Canales doesn’t already realize how limited Bryce is
  6. And it’s just so obvious. Every ball he throws takes forever to get to where it needs to be which is why he needs to be playing 3 steps ahead of everyone else. Last year showed his processing is never going to get to a place where he can make up for a lack of arm strength. Even the guys tweeting out plays during camp. I see Dalton at least attempting to go deep at least once daily. There’s none of that from Bryce. Young’s physical limitations will forever handcuff an offense. Like I’ve said, if Bryce looks serviceable this year that speaks volumes to Canales’ abilities as a coach
  7. So that’s 4 days now without a single deep completion from Bryce
  8. Bryce hasn’t had a single deep completion yet in freaking camp I’m not even sure if we need to see anymore. Bryce showcased all of his physical limitations last year. Truly, what more needs to be seen? If Bryce looks decent this year I’ll just want to see what Canales can do with a real QB
  9. Not sure if the clips in here but there’s a play where Bryce rolls out and hits Mingo sitting in the middle of the field I feel like Canales is going to be doing a lot of that. Getting Bryce out of the pocket and allowing him to see the field
  10. And when the NFL becomes a 7 v 7 league in 10 years some team will call Bryce and get him off of his couch
  11. If Canales is who we hope he is there’s no way he doesn’t already realize Bryce is going to hold back this offense
  12. And I’m pretty sure all 6 completions were short ones
  13. Where are these “wow” throws Bryce was reportedly making every day
  14. I was “fine” with the Bryce pick assuming he’d put that same work ethic we were sold on into adding muscle. At his size any muscle gain would be really noticeable and it’s obvious he didn’t do much this offseason So Dan can spare all the motivated/hard work talk when it comes to Bryce. There’s not much you can control these days but showing up in the best shape possible to give yourself a fighting chance is one of them
  15. Kid didn’t gain a single pound this offseason Sweet.
  16. Tom Brady’s arm is night and day better than Young’s Like wut There are throws Young simply cannot make in the NFL. He proved that to be a fact last year. There wasn’t a single throw Tom Brady couldn’t make. What are we even doing here?
  17. I’m thinking Geno will be our QB in 2025
  18. I agree. My fear is that with Canales he becomes serviceable which puts us right back in that 7-8 win territory that forces another trade up for a QB Sure the situation last year was awful but a lot of the sacks were on Bryce last season. There were also more than enough plays each game last year where if he was able to process and play within the timing of the offense there were easy completions to be made
  19. Yeah… A coach who stresses the importance of timing and footwork would choose a QB who struggles with both of those… makes sense
  20. I just hope Canales gets a fair shot with a QB of his choice after this season
  21. There are so many examples last year where Bryce drops back and should throw the ball but chooses not to the lack of arm strength, slow processing and terrible footwork shows up a lot. This whole 2.7 thing sounds really good but that’s never been Young’s game and Young isn’t a good enough athlete with a good enough arm to playing backyard football in the NFL Bring on 2025
  22. I’m curious to see what this offense looks like. Every coach says they’re going to build around the strengths of their players but not a lot actually do. Canales actually seems to do that. Canales talks about finding those plays where the QB plants that back foot and rips it and building off of those plays… When did we ever see Bryce plant that back foot and rip it? Outside of one touchdown pass against GB. Other than that they’re tough to find. Even throughout his time at Bama. So where in the hell is Canales supposed to start in terms of building a passing game?
  23. I’m almost more curious to see what Baker does this year than I am to watch Bryce. If you go and watch all of Baker’s touchdown passes from 2023, there’s maybe 4-5 that Young doesn’t have the arm strength for or that we simply don’t have Mike Evans. If Young’s able to correctly process what’s out there then in this offense his numbers should be at minimum decent. If they’re not then he’s truly absolute dog sh!t. If Baker takes a major step back then I’ll look forward to Canales getting to pick his guy in 2025
  24. That’s something that stood out to me with Bryce in college. No urgency. That was for sure going to carry over into his pro game. ‘live to see another down’ is fine when you’re playing at Alabama where you’re always going to get the ball back but that’s not the case in the NFL
