  1. Exactly. I’d almost rather have a little bowling ball back there behind the line to punch it in but back-versatility keeps the defense from selling out. Eagles’ goal line package seemed to always use Gainwell or Scott. They are both like 200lbs and didn’t seem to have much trouble. Chiefs liked to sub in McKinnon at the goal line - their smaller pass catching guy. Seems like a good staff w a decent line can figure out how to get it done.
  2. Would have rather had Riley Moss, ji’ayer brown, Trenton Simpson and Darnell Washington. Can’t wait to see this guy eat up a blocker for two years before we cut him.
  3. Would have rather had Moss than the schmuck we got
  4. Looks like the Ian Thomas of edge rushers. Sweet.
  5. Sweet. I was big on Kendre Miller. We brought him in. And now I get to watch him in a saints uni. Awesome.
  6. Yea but the connections purposely didn’t use Swift at all. They sat his ass on the bench and rolled with Jamaal Williams.
  7. They give away very good interior linemen from big name schools every single year, even RTs can be had fairly late. I would grab a guy every single year without fail.
  8. After signing Montgomery to pair w Swift. So dumb.
  9. Would have been nice to miraculously been able to trace back up for Witherspoon.
  10. I was banging the drum for Foreman (and Jamaal Williams) in 2017. There are really good backs available in the third and fourth round.
  11. Draft young cheap replacements. Let old guys walk. If you have a good line, a qb, and a competent scheme, then the guy in the backfield isn’t that important. It’s a position where injuries are frequent and the lifespan is short. We should be drafting a young guy now. I said this in another thread but I think Kendre Miller is one of the top 3 backs in the draft. Solid in every aspect of the game. And now It looks like we are at least somewhat interested: https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/04/18/2023-nfl-draft-panthers-tcu-rb-kendre-miller-top-30-visit/
  12. Looking at day two or three here: I think Kendre Miller, RB TCU, is one of the top three RBs in the draft. Good size and speed combo that seems to slip through the holes and slip out of tackles. Chubba improvement/replacement at-worst. Ji’Ayir Brown, Safety Penn st, kind of reminds me of Chinn on the tape I saw. Size is similar to our other safeties, Bell and Woods. Could be a potential Woods replacement if we cut him in ‘24 for cap savings or let him walk thereafter. Seems like versatile DBs are going to have some value in this system.
  13. The verbiage is similar to “Read Option “ and they both kind of became popular phrases for media talking heads around the same time. Also, to your point, we sort of blended the two with Cam.
  14. I think I’m in the minority but I see Luvu as ILB not OLB. Not entirely sure where Chinn fits in the base package but I imagine we will be heavy on DBs a lot of the time and he will be in the middle of the field. I envision sending Luvu on blitzes and filling in w Chinn. They are both pretty lethal around the line, getting in the backfield and being disruptive. I could see us trading Chinn but I really hope we keep him and keep loading Evero with toys. Our good years have come with elite defenses. Time to bring back that tradition.
  15. Trading back for Hendon Hooker. I’ve got an inside source. My buddy busses tables at the Applebees in Rock Hill. He said Tepper and Reich and Fitterer were in there and they told him it was Hooker. And also Adam Thielen came in too.
  16. Tbh, the jury is still out on Corral. We haven’t seen anything at all.
  17. Corey Davis is prob on par. Not a #1 but could be a decent #2 vet presence. Jets are going to have to let some people go for sure. mims for cheap speed could be a thing too
