Giving up 8 and 39 leaves you with no way of getting the line you need. Too many holes and specifically, too many holes on the line for that. Id work on the terms to keep 8. If we keep 8, we can trade back to the teams that will come knocking for Lance.

This is also his opportunity to see the players up close and personally interact before the draft. He need to how these guys are going to respond to being pushed by himself and his staff. He’s no dummy, that’s for sure.

Don’t like him but he is serviceable and the contract isn’t bad at this point. You draft his replacement this year and have the replacement play guard. Next year, when paradis is gone, the draftee slides over and we pop another guard in.

I think you might be sort of right. Wilson will be gone. If, Luke me, they aren’t sold on Fieds or Lance, They’ll want to trade back with that number eight pick. The best way to do that is to feign interest in all of those top quarterbacks. I still think they draft a quarterback but not until the fourth or fifth round. They could theoretically trade back twice in the first and pick up quite a few extra picks. If Lance is there, there could be interest in a mid-teen team moving up. If that happens, we could be lined up for Mac Jones, which could lead to another trade back if we wanted. All of a sudden, we’d have a boatload of 2nd and 3rd round picks to address line, corner, LB, etc etc

Just mentioned this in another thread but I’m eyeing David Moore G out of Grambling. Only 6’3” at guard but has long arms and looks the part. Moves really well and finishes plays strongly. Somewhat Hidden because of where he plays but he definitely isn’t an unknown. He is playing in the senior bowl so maybe we get a look. Of course if any of these senior bowl guys pop, then I guess they won’t be hidden gems.

David Moore is a guy I’d like later on. Hoping he remains under the radar.

If im the chiefs, I’d feel a lot better about Remmers against JPP than Barrett. The only thing I’d really be worried about is the blitzes that the Bucs will dial up.

After the hypothetical of packaging our 2nd with some future picks for Stafford,I got bored and wanted to look at what that could mean if we lost that second but traded back with 8 to cash in on the talent in those middle rounds. I’ve got my eye on Liam Eichenberg and Jay Tufele. I’d trade back to late first, early second and nab them both, then follow that up with 3 interior linemen with the understanding that one of those would be the center after one more year of Paradis. That would mean we’d have Moton on the right and then 4 dudes that all came in together for Rhule’s first real offseason.

But what would we need to give up to get him? I like the idea of trading back, filling those holes, and grabbing a young QB like Mond or Costello later on. If we have to give up a bunch, then we won’t be able to fill those spots in the draft.
