Glad to see you changed your mind and agree with me
-
Saying Ted Ginn doesn't fill a need is silly.
-
I'm impressed by four forced fumbles on special teams. That's the kind of stat that could win a close game for sure. Special teams ace that settles in a a WR3 or 4? Do want.
-
Obviously a special teams angle here yet people losing their minds thinking he's being brought in specifically to be a WR 2-3-4

If anything the budget has been set to pay Kuechly and Cam.... They probably have just enough to make offers to some quality FA's, but not enough to enter an auction with multiple bidders.
-
Gettleman met with Nicks and told him face to face that we weren't a fit. We didn't "want" Nicks at the conclusion of the meeting. I can accept that and not misplace intent. You imply we missed out by dragging feet. It didn't go down that way.

Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks

He signed with Buffalo for $50 million guaranteed, total deal like 6 year $100 million -
Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks

For quite a few the only way they will accept that Hardy isn't coming back will be the passing of March 10th, and the signing announcement some team releases after that, both of which will spawn hundreds more comments. Add to that whatever the NFL decides to do and we're in for way more blovulating. -
Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks

I'm not going to start hand wringing over why we won't sign him back. Just considering the huge deal we'd have to beat already gives me pause. I guess prioritizing financial needs isn't armchair GM's forte. This will be a wait and see situation. The deal will get done and I have a feeling that most will end up saying "eh, no way we should be beating that offer" -
Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks

South Beach bound.... Wish I could say that I enjoyed his time as a Panther, but he brought us this whole mess last year by himself and it ruined it all for me. -
I just figured that once he hits free agency he isn't technically employed
-
Looks like they'll just leave him on the exempt list until he becomes a free agent, then the exempt designation doesn't apply anymore. I thought for sure they would just discipline him before free agency and then let everyone carry on. Now it seems like he'll hit the open market without a resolution to his situation. Very interesting....

Mike Tolbert Attended DeAngelos Moms Funeral
ed bell replied to NJPanthers12's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly this -
His heart is in Arkansas /Memphis.... I wish him well in the future and was sorry to hear of his mom's passing. To be quite honest, it's nobody's business why teammates/organization employees did or did not choose to attend a funeral. That is private stuff and I refuse to cast judgements about it. He should have left that alone.
-
In my own personal opinion, grief and the handling of condolences in the event of losing a family member is a very private event. Saying the Panthers didn't do enough wasn't really something for public consumption, especially when it's apparent members of the organization did in fact reach out to him. If Jerry wasn't involved as much as DeAngelo felt was respectful, that should be private, and apparently was already discussed man to man. That would have been the respectful thing to do. I would have to say he has been taken care of by this organization in a way that only a small portion of NFL players can dream about.

Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?
ed bell replied to Nick_81's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it's a big deal that he is lobbying to stay.... It ought to at least let the fans know that even if the NFL handled the situation poorly, our organization evidently treated him fairly -
"Sorry, this user does not exist." Oooops
-
I don't think there is any way you can read the transcript and decide that there wasn't a physical altercation of some sort in his apartment along with lots of unsecured weapons present while both of them were drunk and maybe high
-
Bring him back, please
