Panthers trade up to 9th pick of second round - select Devin Funchess
ed bell replied to Montsta's topic in Carolina Panthers
Gettleman already said we didn't need more picks... He sacrificed two in order to target a guy he saw as being vulnerable to being swiped before our pick. 27 picks went down after ours until a WR was taken. I think we made a solid move -

Can we get a remedial math forum to teach the slower folks about trades/value/cost so when the trade details come out it does take 8 friggin pages to explain these things to the posters who can't keep up? -
Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select Shaq Thompson

I'm feeling just the right amount of vitriol and barely concealed rage coupled with some very positive vibes and glowing evaluations. I like this pick. -

Pressure building here... -
Just watched NFL Network at 7PM and I gotta say, it was refreshing to see over the first five minutes of the show dedicated to Greg Hardy and the Cowboys.... At this point, good riddance

This guy really does seem to be reinforcing the image of being an idiot who can't grasp the tenuous nature of his situation

Crabtree to the Raiders... Possibly done deal tonight http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12685378/oakland-raiders-expected-sign-wr-michael-crabtree

They said giving our player payroll a stiff shot of fiscal responsibility would be painful at times. Some folks evidently have a low pain tolerance. I'm glad to see measured contract moves that plan for the future. It's already improved quite a bit, and Gettleman has stuck to his guns. I don't think you can point a move he's made yet that kicks the can down the road.

I bet one of these will be a fuggin home run... Licking chops...

Cash money

I gotta believe that there were at least preliminary talks before Carolina put him on a plane. You don't bring the guy in for a face-to-face if there is no chance to sign him.
-
Ain't you got some snow to shovel or sumpthin?
-
So the question is now how much money are they willing to stack on the table along with the money that DB left without signing

C'mon Nippleshorts, just this one time? Please? I promise we won't ever whine and snivel again.

Well, at least we know he tries to be a good dad

The reason Cam isn't in a hurry to sign a contract
ed bell replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nothing wrong with having plans for marketing yourself beyond your career, and I think he can do as well as many who have come before him. I just don't see him going into defection mode. I like what he's said and continues to try to do as an athlete...Make improvements to his game. He has work to do there,as any pro does. -
The reason Cam isn't in a hurry to sign a contract
ed bell replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
"Not chasing contractual money".... OK, so I'm sure he and the Panthers can sit down and write a simple, cheap contract and then we'll go out and splurge... Right... Its apparent where most of your "theory" is coming from, you want to believe that's his motivation and mindset because you aren't happy about the GM, scheme, OC, and perceived lack of interest from the ownership to load up on offensive playmakers. You want Cam to be unhappy with Carolina and you'd like to see the retribution be his defection for a "winning team" so he can realize his destiny of being the LeBron of the NFL. Got it. -

Certainly some projection going on here. -
Rivera maybe put in a good word to the Chargers brass about Hardy?
-
So there goes another name tossed around as a "cheap" possibility at a ridiculous price. Everyone here would probably agree that we have no business offering that kind of money for that kind of player.

Gettleman: Oher can be answer at left tackle

I knew this thread would bring out the sniveling.... So utterly predictable
