A little trouble in paradise (Seattle)? RW contract talks
mbarbour21 replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think many people believe that Cam should take less than he deserves. I believe (at least I feel) he should get what he deserves, but not get stupid with it. Being 10s of millions away at 20 mil a year........is stupid. For ANYBODY!!! I think people would love it if Cam decided to give a small discount, but not many truly expect it. It's more of us not having to pay 28 mil a year for one player. I hope Cam is paid fair, but nothing ridiculous. -
A little trouble in paradise (Seattle)? RW contract talks
mbarbour21 replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
True. Russel Wilson deserves to get paid well. We have to be honest with ourselves, he is a big part of what they do. However, I don't believe he should get the contract he wants. What do you do besides pay him though? Drop him? The truth is, if you pay Wilson what he wants that probably means you will lose a part of that defense. (Particularly a DB) That defense is just as big of a part of that team as Wilson, if not more. At the end of the day, Wilson will just be harder to replace. I don't think that makes him a more important piece of the team, just a rare one. -
Panthers offer Collins, Byron Bell's locker. Filled with inspirational quotes by the big man himself. "It could be worse." #iknowiminspired

I agree, he is beast. Enjoy the videos a lot.

I'm thinking: KB Funchess Ginn Cotchery Boykin Brown

If u can find someone better then yes. But the major problem we had with him was him returning punts and being the first option. I think we filled those spots. But he doesn't have much versatility. I think that may be what pushes him out. Never know tho. He was pretty reliable.

Damiere Byrd WR, South Carolina to Panthers
mbarbour21 replied to Leeroy Jenkins PhD's topic in Carolina Panthers
I could see him and Teddy Williams as gunners. That's alot of speed. But could he get off blocks from big NFL corners? I think that's a big question. -
Carolina Panthers Trade Up Select Oklahoma's Daryl Williams

Great move! Need a RB now tho. -
Secondary Roles of Shaq, Bene, Tillman, etc.
mbarbour21 replied to mpugh6's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it is awesome, because like mentioned on some thread, not having to substitute during "hurry up offenses" would be great. Tillman could move from FS to CB. Bene could slide inside. Shaq could take a SS hybrid slot. Or Shaq could just pick up the TE. -

I could also see Shaq playing safety/LB hybrid in the Nickle defense. Swap out Boston. -

CB 1- Norman CB 2- Bene FS- Tillman SS- Boston -
Nah......I think it was that guy Smitty blew past for the winning TD in over-time in the 2003 playoff game. Hehe!

Yep, it works both ways. We need a good defense/STs to give is better field position and keep the opposing team from scoring, but we need to give him weapons so our offense can score. I really want an offensive pick. Infact, I would love if the first three picks fell OT, WR, then RB. (Or some variation) However, we don't need to reach either. We need to get the best guy. (Within reason)

The chosen one is returning to the NFL
mbarbour21 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Philly is the best place for him. That style of play would definitely favor The Golden Calf of Bristol. He did good enough with Denver to win a playoff game. I am a Christian but I understand why people dislike The Golden Calf of Bristol in the league. That's all they talk about. I understand that The Golden Calf of Bristol is a good athlete. The question is still out on whether he CAN BE an NFL QB. I see no reason why he couldn't be a backup, especially in this system. I believe he can come in and help you win a game here and there. -
I would absolutely love: 1st Round- WR 2nd Round- OT 3rd Round- RB

Letting Wilson walk will kill that team. I don't believe he is as big a part of his team as Cam is to us, but Cam pretty much IS our offense. So just because I don't believe he is as important as Cam doesn't mean I believe he isn't a very important part of what they do. Seattle is in big trouble if they let him walk without someone else even remotely close to Wilson's talents. Franchise QBs are hard to come by, however, LOB is more of a reason they win than Wilson. So with that being said, if you had to chose which to keep, I believe it would have to be LOB.

RUMOR: Panthers looking to move up to 16-20th pick
mbarbour21 replied to @bobbyagnese's topic in Carolina Panthers
Don't really know what you would call it. You either sit and pick the BPA at 25, or trade picks and from that point, pick BPA. I slightly agree with you still. It's not true BPA because you didn't just pick the best player at your pick, but you still picked the BPA once you traded up.......weird -
This is true to an extent. IMO. I don't think it will be a "say all" addition, but I do think it COULD influence a pick. Let's say you have a CB and a WR that have equal value. (Or at least very similar) If you added Jennings, you may be content with picking CB instead of receiver. Although, I don't think it would be a DONE DEAL, like some are suggesting on here. Depends on who falls and all that. Value over need seems to be Getts philosophy anyway.

Will our cap wealth next season change Gettleman?
mbarbour21 replied to PanthersUnited's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think it will change him. It would be more accurate to say that the situation would be changed. He will spend more cuz he can afford to. -
Best player available. That is honestly what I hope we grab. If every position was completely equal at our pick and no one wanted to trade up to our spot......I'd pick according to depth at the positions in the draft. The draft is too uncertain to really pin point. My personal preference? I'd love a receiver capable of a #2 role. RB is a weapon, but I'd prefer WR.

Nah ur good. Just end it with ".....from Ravens, eyeing home return?"
