  1. I have to be honest, I love the moves. They have to be thinking ahead to next year. Those picks will be used to package to move up a few spots next year.
  2. We should grab Israel Mukuamu in the 4th and play him at safety.
  3. Marty would have drafted him at 39 and never traded back.
  4. It would be dumb at this point to say you believe the Jets didn’t give Darnold a good enough team around him to be successful and then go out and upgrade the worst possible position for his success in the first round. Haha! I mean, worse than the Packers trading up to select a QB the year after they were one game from the Super Bowl with Rodgers, or at least comparable. At least their QB was over 35.
  5. Rage quit? Yes. Be a fan again by the second round? Also yes. They could trade Chinn to move up to select Mac Jones and I’d still follow them. Cuz they are my fam.
  6. Ok, so just asking for a friend: If all the top QB options after pick 2 end up underperforming, and Darnold over performs, AND we get a huge trade back which nets us multiple starters.....will we end up having to thank Rivera for letting us beat them???
  7. I would love to get Fields or Lance. The problem I have with selecting them tho is that everyone claims the Jets didn’t build around Darnold like they should to put him in a position to be successful. If we grab a QB when we could trade back, I feel like we are passing up a good chance to put Darnold in a great position. A first round selection and an extra early to mid 2nd rounder could be huge in providing Darnold with the protection and weapons he should have gotten with the Jets. Plus, adding defensive help always benefits the offense as well.
  8. Mac Jones. I see no reason to pick Jones when we have Darnold. It would be a poorly used high draft pick, a complete waste. We need at least 2 OL, 1 S, 1 CB, 1 WR and maybe a TE (if there is one worthy of the pick when it’s our turn). QB is no longer a pressing need, we have enough needs to address without throwing away a pick.
  9. 100% We should be able to CHECK ALL THAT APPLY. Lol! Cuz if they don’t pick OL, that means they are CONTINUING to ignore a huge and longstanding need. OL or trade back if no OL is worthy of the pick and turn it into 2 OL. Not sure there is another reasonable option.
  10. I doubt it, for several reasons: 1. If teams think we don’t want to draft a QB, they would probably seek to trade with us. Once we refuse a really good offer to stay put, they will assume it’s for QB and trade in front of us. Unless we convince them we are sitting still for a top OL (which SHOULD actually be the case), they will see through that smoke screen. 2. A lot of people thought that the Jets should stick with Darnold and actually put him in a good position. If a QB is still there at our pick, hopefully, we strongly consider trading back. There are plenty of holes we can fill in this draft. 3. If you want a guy, just trade up and get him. Giving away a second and some change for a QB you really have no intention of building around for a POSSIBILITY that someone decides not to move up is insane IMO.
  11. I feel like it’s gotta be on Darnold more. If this was a blockbuster trade like the 9ers, I’d say the staff. Darnold will have arguably the best RB in the league, with two 1,000 yard WRs, and hopefully we add to that in the draft. We were not in a good position to land a top QB in the draft and Watson’s situation looks really bad. They didn’t break the bank for him, so they don’t have much invested really. Not for a potential franchise QB. I think it’s a good risk.
  12. FACTS. They were in a great position to trade back for a haul. A lot is riding on this Zach Wilson pick. They gotta hit on this or they just gave up potentially 3 firsts.
  13. I would be all for trading for Darnold. Preferably, for no more than a third. That way we could get 2 OL in the first two picks and draft a WR or 2 later on. Would love some combo of Newsome, Darden, and Schwartz, or one of those with a versatile RB. Sprinkle in one or 2 DBs like Trill, Ford, Mukuamu, Shakur, or Hamlin (if we don’t address it via FA), and I’d call that a very successful draft.
  14. Well, Wilson is gonna need some familiarity when we grab him with the second pick. Not huge, but makes sense.
  15. I would be for it depending on what we would have to give up. I think him being on the field with Moore, Anderson, CMC, and our new Cardinals TE would be a good offense. Plus, the coaching of our staff is probably superior to what he has been getting. We could draft an LT in first round, OG in the third, and add another WR in the fourth or fifth. I’d love to add a legit CB before the season as well. If we managed all that, with the addition of Darnold, I could definitely see us in the playoffs.
  16. That’s a lot for someone who isn’t NFL proven. I’d do this ALL DAY for a guy like Watson. But an unknown? This could really hurt. Only time will tell. But as of now, can’t say I’d be happy if we did the same.
  17. I think it depends on what it would take to trade for Sam Darnold. I wouldn’t be against going after him, but I would need to know what we would be giving up.
