  1. No, he wasn't perfect. But even the top tackles drafted round 1 the previous year all struggled some as rookies. He did start for the Seahawks almost every game, Ealy came on late. I don't recall CJ getting a sack on him in our last game. Just pointing out that there were players around there that contributed more than Ealy in round 2. In 3 years maybe Ealy is a top DE in the league, still very early. Remmers really made a difference, Bell and Chandler are huge liabilities.
  2. I don't think drafting Gordon or Gurley would be the end of the world. It'd actually be fun to have another Georgia guy to stick it to ATL like Cam and CJ seem to do on those days. In fact, I remember Rivera saying something about spending that pick on a "luxury" that made me wonder if they'd be tempted. Now, you can certainly make the argument that that is what got us in our cap situation we are in today or the extensions that Marty gave at least. But Gordon and a healthy Gurley are definitely in the discussion as BPA's even if not a need. Would you pass on a Jammal Charles whom he is continuously compared with.
  3. I think we were definitely lucky to get Benji. He should have have gone earlier IMO. There were some weird picks in there that enabled him to fall. I think our 1st rounders have been no brainers IMO. But look at round two, Mewhort and Britt picked around Ealy. Now I'm not saying Ealy isn't good but Luck and Wilson got some much needed protection. Hardy's antics sure made our pick look wiser tho.
  4. All I know is we can't keep ignoring the T spots. No FA or Drafted player of note at a position of glaring need in two years. In truth, Norwell and Remmers saved this team and maybe a few jobs too. Was that luck or great evaluation? I just hope Bell doesn't end up the starting LT again and it could happen. If Gman stayed true to his word he'd fill that spot in FA before the draft. But he already hinted he isn't going to pay for a top tackle.
  5. Well, I think Hardy may have been using too. The Sunglasses indoors during interviews, the weird pseudo-intellectual statements/interviews that made him look not as smart as he thinks he is and all the damn nose touching going on before this shenanigans broke. Or am I the only one that noticed that?
  6. I hear what you're saying, however, I think Cobb proved his natural talent ever since his rookie year on returns. He has God given natural ability. Considering our lack of big plays made, a guy with great YAC ability would be great for Cam. It would be nice to make that big splash in FA for a change and maybe letting Hardy walk makes a move like that possible. All that said I do think we'll be looking at the Shorts, Crabtrees and Kearses instead. maybe even a Beasley, Royal or Tate lower down.
  7. It doesn't matter what the final score was. What your saying is basically that its fine to cheat as long as you're the better team. Its an attempt to gain an advantage whether that advantage is taken advantage of or not. I'm not denying the Pats are a better team than the Colts. That's not what this is about. I'm expecting this to all get neatly swept under the rug just like the last time they cheated anyway. I mean, they did burn the tapes last time to help cover up the depth of cheating going on.
  8. LOL, so now its the Colts fault the Pats cheated again. And where did this theory originate, oh yeah, Boston.
  9. Searcy from Buffalo wouldn't be a bad shout. Ties to the area may make it possible. I'd be shocked if the Ravens let Smith walk, that's the thing too, most of the good ones aren't let go. Its only when they are cap strapped and can't afford it. DeShaun Jackson last year would have been perfect. Crabtree could be interesting but we need to beat Seattle if were gonna win the big one. That's the great thing about Benji, arguably had his best games against Seattle. Bulaga comes with a huge buyer beware, had major injuries the previous two years with ACL and the dreaded OLine hip injury. Jordan is a pipe dream. He's a pro bowl level TE, he'd want to be the #1 TE and Olsen is our guy. I expect him to be retained in Cleve anyway. He's one of their best players if not best.
  10. See, this is what really grinds my gears. Now, I never played American Football, but I did grow up playing rugby and soccer as a kid. And any child knows what its like to kick a football in cold weather or play with one that's going flat. Its why they sell most footballs with pumps. And here I am listening to Tom and Bill try and act like they know nothing about footballs. Yet on a cold day when its most beneficial to deflate a football we coincidently find 11 balls tampered with. It's insulting to be perfectly honest. Its like catching a five year old telling the most ridiculous lie ever.
  11. Actually, in fairness to Gman he didn't have much of a chance to trade him. If you remember back, Hardy signed his tender real quick. Much quicker than you usually see tagged players commit. Usually, they at least try to feel out FA. Hardy signed his before it even started. You could look at the bright side and say at least Gman bidded his time and didn't commit a lot of guaranteed money into a new contract. Now he has leverage even if thing do work out for Hardy legally. For sure there will be language written into any new contract protecting the Panthers, otherwise he is gone for sure.
