I think Buffalo fans are overrating Kiko a bunch. He started off really hot as a rookie (All 4 Ints by week 4) but he tailed off towards the end of the year and didn't even play at all last year. Not to mention the DL he played behind. I get the cap implications favor Philly but the Bills clearly got the better talent IMO.
-
Kiko is only 2 years younger than McCoy BTW. Philly just traded one of the best offensive weapons in the NFL for an injured LB with a questionable past. McCoy is barely 26. Some seem to think he's in his 30's from the comments I'm reading. If Kiko gets injured again, lordy lordy. Does this trade happen if Chip wasn't a duck, I don't think so.

Like the first two picks. O'Leary has great hands but his 40 at the combine might drop him out of the 3rd/4th/5th rounds. That was shockingly low, not to mention his lack of height. A 3rd's a tad high for a Richie Brockel type guy. We could do better than that.

Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks

Yeah there is, it means he's a chronic masturbator, not that there's anything wrong with that. -
Panthers Final Decision On Hardy : No Thanks

You simply can't afford to tag a player 2 years in a row. What does it bump by, 20%? And why would you after you got nothing from him last year and he could still be looking at another 6 weeks off. It sucks because we are losing a dominant home grown player. Teams like to resign their own talent. But unfortunately the writing was on the wall when we tagged him last year and never came to a deal. Tagged players usually move on year 2. Maybe they knew they were dealing with a guy on the edge and thought they could get somebody to bite on a trade last year but Greg signed that tag in record time making it impossible. Greg wasn't going to be resigned for free either so it leaves cap space for another player or players. Not the end of the world, Gman likes drafting Dline anyway apparently. Ealy needs to step up and CJ needs to find that fountain of youth, can't start out slow next year too CJ. Honestly, I thought the original plan would be to resign Greg and cut CJ, guess the elder statesman proved more reliable. -
Congtrats Smitty, love the vids too. But that dress had me tripping. First I only saw white and gold, now I just saw the blue and black. I can now get on with my life.

Ted Ginn leaning towards going home to Cleveland
CelticCat replied to nctarheel0619's topic in Carolina Panthers
Cribbs hasn't been the same since the concussions. -
He flipped flopped a lot between LT and RT. He had two decent years, those under Matsko but his play started to slide after that. We really need a Baltimore fan for their input here. Its telling he got cut after just one season in Tenn too, injury or not.

I do remember Spiller going all ham on us two years ago. I Believe he ran for 100 yards that day. I could see him as a cheap alternative to DeAngelo that could contribute on special teams. Sometimes, those performances stay fresh when it comes to FA, ie Mike Mitchell. Lower tier RB's aren't getting paid much these days either. -
Oh, I don't think the Vikings are close to the SB either. But they are on the hook for 15 mill a season over the next three years. What decent team with cap space could pay him that? I don't see him going to the Raiders or Jax is what I'm getting at.
-
If they can't resign Murray how the hell will they sign AP? AP is better off staying in Minn at 15 mill per annum. Who else will pay that that has a chance to win?
-
Well, he played his best under Matsko his first two years in Baltimore, so I feel better about that. I'm sure he had a lot to say about drafting him in the first place. But its a bit of a reclamation project, not the big step up from Bell we hoped.

D Will says Panthers didn't reach out to him when his mother died
CelticCat replied to QCkilla's topic in Carolina Panthers
Big Cat is getting up there in age. He might not be on the ball as many seem to think. I mean, that pie chart thing was embarrassing. Charlie Dayton retiring too. -

LOL at Hardy the one smelling like a rose after all this. Meh, the funeral was in Arkansas too. If it was in Charlotte, more teammates may have shown up I guess. -

Morrison is kinda new on the scene tho. I think it would mean more hearing from Hurney again. The NFL Live guys basically said he's screwed as a FA, maybe a guy that gets picked up after injuries. -

What did 34 mean by owner and "leadership", I get JR but who else is he referring too. He said he spoke to Rivera and Gman, weird. -

Didn't the Godfather, I mean Gettleman just say a few days ago they had a great meeting, LOL. -
Byron Bells best play as a Panther must have been the block he put on Patrick Peterson on Fozzys TD run during our playoff game. That play made me giggle for a week. I hope Gman finds a decent T to replace him and protect Cam. I can't believe we resigned Scott BTW.

Cam Newton should be paid more than Luck or Wilson
CelticCat replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
No. Why would they do that. Rivers hasn't won a damn thing and he's 6 years younger than Brees, Manning has a year or two left in him.- 181 replies

I have no problem paying Cam. I can't go back to Jimmy Clausen, Chris Weinke, Rodney Peete, Matt Moore, Brett Basanez, Brian St Pierre, David Carr, Matt Lytle, Randy Fasani and calling Testy off the couch.- 181 replies

I think you have to consider contract longevity too. Newtons rush number should decrease the older he gets so that favors Luck. I also think the NFL in general views Luck the better QB, I mean he did get drafted #1 overall in the pro bowl twice in a row now, LOL. I want to see Cam surrounded by legit weapons and right now we are clearly rebuilding. Luck had Hilton, Fleener and Allen drafted with him as a rookie to add to Reggie Wayne, then they added Moncrief and signed the guy almost everyone here was wetting themselves to get, Nicks. So far we've only added Benji thru the draft that has stuck. We have to start adding speedy playmakers, hopefully, this is the year. I'm glad it was one of the first comments made this offseason by Gettleman.- 181 replies

I'll grant you we had our cap purge but somebody somewhere obviously thought they'd just drafted our Franchise QB in Clausen that year. We sucked, we didn't purposely tank they way Indy were doing. The Suck for Luck chants were going strong by midseason. Everyone knew Peyton was going out the door too.- 181 replies

Is 'BPA, or be damned' a flaw with Gettleman's draft philosophy?
CelticCat replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, how many teams had ODB as the 3rd best WR? BPA is subjective as hell.
