  1. Deal is not done yet. They are now campaigning. As I said before...city has to approve their funds which could take a year.
  2. Thank you @Jackie Leefor staying on top of this stuff again for us.
  3. Under the NFL’s three-factor formula for determining the universe of teams that can be forced to do Hard Knocks, this year there are four. And three of them have said they don’t want to do it. The Bears (via chairman George McCaskey), the Saints (via coach Dennis Allen), and the Jets (via coach Robert Saleh) have made clear their lack of interest in the assignment. That leaves the Commanders as the only team that has not publicly said no. [At least not yet] The NFL could tell the Bears, Saints, or Jets “tough crap.” That extra layer of intrigue could actually make the show better. Reality shows typically feature people who want to do it. The inherent tension from having a team forced against its will to do it could be spicy. The easiest course would be to give the gig to the Commanders. But how could the league (which ultimately runs the show) properly fashion the story of the team without fully delving into the Daniel Snyder angle? If NFL Films tells the truth about the sale of the team, it makes the league bad. If NFL Films brushes any of it under the rug, folks like us will call the league out.
  4. What a fascinating but terribly tragic story. First of all, so tragic for his victims. But also tragic that such a brilliant mind was taken by mental illness. If not for the tremendous courage and sense of moral duty by his brother, who knows how many more would have been hurt.
  5. So, the young eagle left the nest 2 days ago. Just got back this afternoon. Now just hanging out with Mom. Might be asking her...."Can you tell me again how you caught that fish?"
  6. This is proposed...not yet approved. May take about another year to have the answer from the city about funding.
  7. I quoted Jim Miller, the former NFL QB and now host of Moving the Chains on Sirius as saying that very thing. Not exclusively a Huddle opinion...fyi.
  8. I can't believe we are still arguing about this. There are 3 types of people here: 1) Fans (short for fanatics) 2)"Realists" 3) Haters/trolls Everyone knows what they are and now everyone knows who everyone else is. What more is there to say?
  9. Agree @top dawg. Tremble could have complimented the new staff without taking a deep dive into criticizing the previous horror show. Tells me it must have been bad. Reich and company must have seen something in a couple of the guys since the Panthers did not seem interested in drafting a TE. This is why I am hopeful that the Panthers will make some good improvement this year. As we have all heard many times....coaching matters.
  10. Big day!!! First flight. Congrats young eagle.
  11. He is a QB and the #1 overall pick. How often does that happen for a team? ....Well at least for most teams. What do you expect? It is all we have at this point. Hope, joy, and dreams of glory.
  12. He was a rotational player there...not the expectation here. In the thread I made about the 5 best offseason moves..he was listed as #5 5. Signing DL Shy Tuttle This isn't a "sexy" move by any means but it's one that will do wonders for someone like Derrick Brown. It's going to free up Derrick to make more plays in the passing game as he won't have to deal with as many double-teams. Tuttle has never been a stat machine but his value is far more important than numbers on a piece of paper.
  13. People thought they would love Tepper's money...well his greed comes along with it. The result is a field that is deleterious to our players' safety.
  14. I disagree...Luke is an excellent teacher. Jeremy Chinn talks about watching film with Luke...starts at about :45
  15. That is very cool. Saving a life...especially a child...can't get any better, Well done Coach Morris.
  16. Yep...the new kid is smart but he can still learn some things from the best.
  17. I thought the comment about Tuttle and how he could help Brown was interesting...and encouraging. Bryce...without the great staff could have different results. Reich is the architect of the foundation. This could be something good...I'll keep him at 1.
