They are taking liberty with Fitterer's statement IMO. Fitt said that there is a plan in place and they would deal with both 5th year options after the draft. I did not take that to me Darnold is on such shaky ground.

I told him, 'This is your dream. You want to be in the NFL. These are people that I know you will jive with. You'll do great things https://www.panthers.com/news/matt-rhule-s-wife-explains-why-she-told-her-husband-to-go-to-carolina

Finally was able to listen to the pressor. Agree..Rhule looks like hell. However...I also did note.... Rhule and Fit seemed to be very comfortable with each other. Rhule did a good job evading the question about comparing Fit and Marty. Fit sounds confident. He sounds confident in their board and their plans. I am going to trust this guy.

Former Jets scout Daniel Kelly on Trey Lance
ladypanther replied to mccjeff's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wow...that guy sounds like a real arrogant ass. Certainly not a professional. I am sure Lance will keep that clip close by. People doubting him seem to have motivated him. I hope Lance goes to a good situation and becomes successful. -

https://nypost.com/2021/04/17/nfl-draft-analysis-ranking-teams-five-year-history/ 27. Panthers (30) Pro Bowlers: 1 Best Pick: Christian McCaffrey (2017, 1st) Worst Pick: Vernon Butler (2016, 1st) The Panthers have some young players who show promise and could develop into good players, but they are not quite there yet. McCaffrey struggled to stay on the field last year, but is dynamic when healthy. Last year’s all-defense draft produced some potential keepers in Jeremy Chinn and Derrick Brown.

Teddy hasn't reached out to Sam yet following the trade
ladypanther replied to JABANOG's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, so what. Teddy is on his way out...just a matter of time. Sam is his replacement. Teddy being on the team right now is just a formality. It is messy but everything does not have to be an issue. -
I think he handled that very well. They could not get him to say anything negative about his time in NY. He repeatedly praised the people there and the organization. That had to be a tough situation and he handled it with class.

Child injured by Britt Reid has permanent brain injuries
ladypanther replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
https://sports.yahoo.com/where-was-britt-reid-drinking-before-his-dwi-the-chiefs-and-the-nfl-owe-the-public-an-answer-210840236.html Ariel suffered a traumatic brain injury. Months later she can neither walk nor talk. She is finally out of the hospital, but is fed via a tube. Not that Reid stated he stopped anywhere for a few drinks, but there are no bars, restaurants or residences between the facility and the onramp anyway. The route would be logical for Reid to take if headed to his home about a half hour away in the Kansas suburbs. So, if he said he left work and was then allegedly legally drunk at an accident scene less than a mile from the office … There is almost no chance the Chiefs don’t know already what happened that night. There is overwhelming surveillance and security surrounding NFL facilities, both inside and outside the buildings. Due to COVID restrictions, the NFL itself monitored activity inside each building last year. Reid also didn’t work alone. The team has had months to interview anyone and everyone who may have been in contact with him before he left the building. Was he hiding his drinking from everyone? Or was he drinking out in the open, after a long couple of weeks of preparation for the big game? If so, who else saw it? Who knew about it? Was anyone else drinking? How common was it? -
Do I have to get out my "Don't Worry Be Happy" song again for you too?
-
I agree, but.....I know we are going to fix that Oline now and am hoping Darnold will prove to be a steal.
-
@JetFanThanks for posting. Welcome to our forum. I hope you are right about Darnold. Seems like he is a hard worker and is well liked. Would be a great story for him to have success here. Plus...we need it...lol.

Darnold's grandfather, Dick Hammer, was a Marlboro Man Also an athlete, an actor and a fireman:
