They are a mess. Kind of feel sorry for Rivera.

Yea, seems like they would give some incentive for a team to hire a minority HC. (Besides avoiding be bashed in the media for not) But geez...there are people who just want to tear others down, they complain about everything. Tepper took a hit (unfairly) for not hiring Wilks. He pointed out what a diverse admin staff he already has. So, they (primarily Reich) went out and found the best coaches they could. There happen to be minorities in the mix...so now they want to criticize him for hiring minorities? It is a stupid comment. Makes no sense.

Hope they get Lamar. Give up a ton of draft picks and pay a lot of guaranteed money to watch him play a few games a year. It's not like they are 1 player away.

.....Fitterer and new Panthers coach Frank Reich scheduled to address the media Wednesday in Indy, https://theathletic.com/4249843/2023/02/27/carolina-panthers-combine-nfl-draft/
-
Here you go: What Fitterer said about the offensive line: “We’re going to address it in free agency and the draft, as well. We’ll get that position settled. That’s been an emphasis since Day 1 since the season ended, is getting this offensive line right. And what’s what our focus is.” What happened next: The Panthers kicked off free agency by signing right guard Austin Corbett, coming off a Super Bowl win with the Rams, to a three-year, $26.3 million contract. They added center Bradley Bozeman on the second day of free agency, signing the former Raven to a team-friendly, one-year deal. Corbett started all 17 games before tearing his ACL in the season finale at New Orleans; he hopes to be back by Week 1 next season. Bozeman was one of the catalysts to the Panthers’ reborn run game under interim coach Steve Wilks, and is arguably the biggest priority among the team’s free agents. But as Fitterer all but guaranteed, the Panthers also tried to improve their line through the draft. But we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves. What Rhule said about the top of the offensive tackle class: “They’re all gonna be high, high picks. A lot of it will come down to these interviews, how they do testing-wise and then the pro days and all those things.” What Fitterer said about the Panthers’ first-round pick: “I do know at No. 6, there’s going to be a good player there, whether it’s tackle or quarterback. And we’re not going to force anything.” What happened: Even before the combine or pro days circuit started, the general consensus was that the offensive tackle group was much deeper and better than the quarterbacks. Fitterer didn’t try to BS anyone in Indy. Asked if it made more sense to take a tackle at 6 than a QB, Fitterer said, “I think that’s fair.” What Rhule said about finding a quarterback: “We’re gonna aggressively approach each and every free agent and free-agent trade possibility, see if there’s anything there that makes us better.” What Fitterer said about evaluating the QB class of 2023 vs. the class of ’22: “We’re already doing that. You always want to look ahead. What does it look like in the future? Because the one thing we want to do, we want to build it the right way and not force something. We don’t want to make the mistake of, ‘Oh, we need to do this right now. Let’s fix this right now.’ Let’s keep the big picture in mind and know what it looks like a year or two out.” What happened: As mentioned above, the Panthers — like the rest of the league — remained cool on the quarterbacks throughout the pre-draft process last year. Fitterer flipped a fourth-round pick to move up for Corral, who missed his rookie season following Lisfranc surgery. Corral could be in the mix this year. But it feels like the Panthers are gearing up to take one of the top quarterbacks in the draft. If last year’s combine was any indication, Fitterer might drop some hints this week. Stay tuned. https://theathletic.com/4249843/2023/02/27/carolina-panthers-combine-nfl-draft/

Wilson denies the story but there is this observation: Hours before his first regular-season game with the Denver Broncos last September, Russell Wilson made an unfamiliar walk down the visitor’s tunnel at Seattle’s Lumen Field. He immediately saw familiar faces. In the end zone, Wilson hugged three members of the Seahawks’ strength-and-conditioning staff. Near midfield, he removed his headphones and put his arm around Carl Smith, his longtime position coach in Seattle. He embraced Sean Mannion, a quarterback on the practice squad, and Derin Lazuta, an assistant equipment manager. In the pregame calm before his first start against his former team, Wilson shared moments with players, coaches and staff from his decorated 10-year Seahawks career. But Wilson and Pete Carroll — the quarterback and coach who won the only Super Bowl in franchise history, who turned the Seahawks into a decade-long winner — did not speak to each other on the field before the game. Their postgame embrace after a 17-16 Seahawks win was quick and awkward. https://theathletic.com/4238804/2023/02/24/russell-wilson-denver-broncos-influence-offense/

Would never have predicted this a few years ago. Hall left a cushy job to get into the grind of coaching. Must be serious about this. Sounds good. Welcome to Carolina.

Not what the article said, but no matter. Reich will call the plays year 1. The Panthers have a lot of experienced coaches as well as very good young talent to develop. I see nothing to complain about.

While well respected within the Rams organization, Brown has never called plays at the NFL level. His last play-calling gig came in 2015 when he served as the offensive coordinator for the University of Miami. https://www.thephinsider.com/2022/1/14/22884007/miami-dolphins-request-interview-with-los-angeles-rams-running-backs-coach-thomas-brown

I am excited about this staff. How does this coaching staff compare to the staff Reich put together in Indy...at any time? Can't imagine it would compare with this.
-
I love the experience and the diversity of experience. Should make everyone better. Looks like Reich has put together a unique staff....says a lot for who he is.

Six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan is celebrating his 60th birthday on Friday by making a $10 million donation to Make-A-Wish. It is the largest donation ever received from an individual in the organization’s 43-year history. Jordan’s hope is that his decision to celebrate his birthday by donating to Make-A-Wish will inspire others to help fulfill the wishes of the kids still waiting for their wishes to come true. “For the past 34 years, it’s been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids,” Jordan said in a news release. “Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nba/michael-jordan-donates-10m-to-make-a-wish-for-60th-birthday/2023/02/15/9a361d68-ad3f-11ed-b0ba-9f4244c6e5da_story.html Well done MJ.

True. Anyone who goes to the Cards as OC and makes something out of Murray (if that is possible) would look like a genius.

Cann is originally from Landrum, South Carolina. She played volleyball collegiately at the University of South Carolina Bet she is glad to get out of Indy.

Not the best job out there. New owner coming in soon who I would expect to clean house after this season.

His contact was up last year too and he signed a 1 yr deal. Also the same the year before. The offensive coordinator is returning to the Chiefs on a new one-year deal, NFL Network's Jeffri Chadiha and Tom Pelissero reported. It will be the 52-year-old Bienemy's fifth season as the Chiefs' offensive coordinator. His contract had previously expired after signing a one-year deal in 2021, as well. Bieniemy's new deal is the shortest possible term, which could prove beneficial for the coordinator. Should Bieniemy again enter the coaching carousel a year from now, he'll do so with contractual freedom. https://www.nfl.com/news/offensive-coordinator-eric-bieniemy-returning-to-chiefs-on-one-year-deal Feb 2022

Caroline and Parks got engaged in 2019 and were married in 2020. Their wedding was officiated by now former Colts head coach Frank Reich, who is an ordained minister. They welcomed their first child, a son named Trace, in January 2022. https://www.sportskeeda.com/nfl/who-parks-frazier-s-wife-caroline-cann-all-need-know-colts-qb-coach-s-partner

Chemistry was one of the things he mentioned with his staff. Reich seems like a very smart guy. Not worried about clashing personalities and egos.
